Chapter 26 - "Human Forms and Red-Eyed Beasts."

"All right. This time's hired mission. Who wants in?"

Wu Liuqi shot his hand up immediately. "Me me me!"

He'd already figured out that Dimensional Coins could be exchanged for money from their own world, and the conversion rate was ridiculous.

Elsa thought it over for a moment, then nodded as well.

Even though she was only Tier Four, as long as she focused on protecting herself, she should be fine. And honestly, she wanted to see another world, learn a few things.

After all, she was going to be queen someday.

"Let's get started already, brat!" Kurama snorted. "I want to see what's so amazing about some other world."

Then, right in front of everyone's stunned gazes, Kurama transformed into a human.

(⊙_⊙)

What the hell?!

Seeing everyone's expressions, Kurama nodded in satisfaction.

Totally worth dumping all my Dimensional Coins into this.

Wu Liuqi stared. "Th-this… does that mean you've officially become a fox spirit now?!"

Kurama: "…"

I really want to blast him in the face with a Tailed Beast Bomb.

Elsa snapped out of it and looked over in amazement. "That's incredible, Kurama. When did you learn how to turn human?"

Kurama replied calmly, "I spent all my Dimensional Coins on cultivation experience. Plus, I don't really hang around the guild or chat much, so from my side, about half a year passed. After that, I got it."

Sam: "…"

It's only been a few days for me, and you've lived half a year already?

Well, that had to be a time flow issue. Stuff at that level was way beyond his understanding anyway.

"So you see," Sam said, "Dimensional Coins are useful for way more than you think."

Wu Liuqi: "…"

Why do I feel like that was aimed at me?

Elsa nodded thoughtfully. "So that's how it works."

She immediately ran off to the side and had Robin convert all her remaining Dimensional Coins into experience for ice and snow magic.

They were going to save a world. Even if it wasn't her own, a kind-hearted girl like her was more than willing to give everything she had to help.

Wu Liuqi didn't move.

He'd already sold everything that could be sold to the Super Dimensional Mercenary Guild and spent all the coins.

Now that his memories were back, his personality hadn't changed at all, despite throwing away so many Dimensional Coins. He was still the same Wu Liuqi from Chicken Island.

Basically, it was like he'd watched the life of Assassin Wu Liuqi, the number one killer on the Xuanwu Kingdom's hit list, as a very vivid movie.

While everyone in the mercenary guild was discussing and preparing for the mission, elsewhere…

In a parallel High-Level Douluo world.

"What is wrong with these spirit beasts? They're all completely insane!"

Liu Erlong glanced back at the beasts chasing her relentlessly and felt utterly exhausted.

I just hit level forty, okay? Sure, I needed a spirit ring, so I had to kill one of you. But do you really have to hate me this much?

They'd been chasing her for ages now.

Then again… if someone tried to kill me, I'd probably chase them down too. So maybe this was normal.

"Damn it, something's really off about them!"

After knocking one spirit beast back, Liu Erlong turned to look at the others still pursuing her and froze.

Their eyes were completely blood-red.

One of them was a species known for having zero patience. Normally, if it couldn't kill its prey within five minutes, it would give up. Yet now it had been chasing her for half a day.

That made no sense at all.

I don't even have a grudge with you!

And yet, along the way, this thing had killed more of her teammates than anything else.

Hunting spirit beasts was never a one-person job. She hadn't come alone.

It was just that everyone who came with her was dead now.

Only she had managed to escape this far.

Meanwhile, elsewhere.

In a lush, green area filled with towering trees, a flash of white light appeared.

Four figures materialized.

"What the hell was that?" Sam clutched his head, feeling dizzy. "Worst isekai experience ever!"

"Do Elsa and the others go through this every time they come to and leave the Super Dimensional Mercenary Guild?"

The King of Wisdom responded calmly. "Answer: It is likely because no one in this world has joined the Super Dimensional Mercenary Guild. This causes instability during dimensional transfer."

"Really…" Sam muttered.

You can even do that?

I haven't read many books, so don't lie to me, okay?!

But when Sam noticed that Elsa, Wu Liuqi, and Kurama were all holding their heads too, clearly uncomfortable, it actually seemed plausible.

After all, they traveled to and from the guild all the time. If this had happened before, they wouldn't look this wrecked now.

"Damn it, why am I this dizzy?" Kurama shook his head irritably. "Before, it was over in the blink of an eye."

"Probably because this world has no guild members, so the positioning during transfer wasn't accurate," Sam said with a shrug, relaying the King of Wisdom's analysis.

"Honestly, we should file a complaint. At the very least, the guild owes us compensation. Say… a thousand Dimensional Coins sounds fair."

"That'd be a lot of pocket money~"

·(¥?¥)??

Kurama and the others stared at him.

Is this guild master obsessed with money or what?!

Still… it was actually a pretty good idea.

And this thing about inaccurate positioning when there are no guild members around. That was a first.

"Hey! You guys over there!!!"

Before Kurama and Sam had fully recovered, a shout rang out from the distance.

"If you don't want to die, run! Now!!!"

"Huh?" Sam froze.

What's going on?

No way. We just got here and something's already happening?

Sam himself didn't move yet, but Kurama beside him instantly went on full alert.

"Kid," Kurama said grimly, "I can feel a lot of violent, berserk auras coming this way. And they're not weak."

"....."
