Chapter 20 - "Godhead Armor and Absolute Luck."

-----

-----

Robin: "Please don't slander the Super-Dimensional Mercenary Guild, President!!!"

Sam: "Then explain this to me. Where did my huge, flashy, badass suit of armor go?"

(o皿o#)

Kurama and the others all went silent. They had no idea what was going on either.

At times like this, it was probably best to let Sam, the actual owner of the armor, handle the conversation.

Robin: "Didn't you read the description?"

(#-T-)? I'm seriously speechless with you.

"???"

Sam: "Description?"

After Robin said that, Sam hurriedly checked the note next to where the armor had been.

"This armor is forged from the shattered Godhead of the Underworld Lord, broken jointly by the gods and immortals, combined with various divine and Dao materials. Once equipped, it actively bonds to the soul. This is a soul-type defensive armor, crafted specifically for the soul."

"Trait: Absolute immunity to all soul-type damage."

Sam: "Ahahaha…," he said, scratching his head awkwardly."So you're telling me that this insanely cool, over-the-top armor can only be seen when I'm in soul form?"

"Yes," Robin replied.

"And aside from being insanely tough, it doesn't do anything else?"

"That's something you'll have to explore yourself. Of course, you can also upgrade it using dimensional coins, but the cost is… a bit high."

As if she realized that sounded suspicious, Robin quickly added that last part.

-.-

Sam: "You think I don't know you? Your so-called 'a bit high' probably means the size of a fingertip universe, right?!"

Kurama: "Soul-related stuff, huh… That's actually pretty shocking."

It suddenly remembered its future, when Minato Namikaze would rip out its soul and split it into Yin and Yang chakra before sealing them away.

Robin's voice continued, "That's right. This armor's absolute immunity to all soul-type damage is completely broken. Even if you die, your soul won't take any damage at all."

"After all, the Underworld Lord's divine rank was that of a chief god. The hardness of that godhead was so extreme that it took the combined power of gods and immortals just to shatter it."

"Then, with divine and Dao materials added and countless inscriptions engraved, this bug-level armor that grants absolute immunity to all soul-type damage was created."

"And if you add in the Super Regeneration you got from the lottery, the Dragon Ball Buu version, you could say that even if you were blown into literal dust, you'd recover instantly. In other words, you're basically unkillable now."

Sam: "!!!"

Holy crap!

I almost forgot about that ridiculously broken regeneration ability!

Kurama: "!–!"

Even being blown into dust and still instantly recovering?

Elsa: "^o^!!"

Unkillable?!

Wu Liuqi: "!!!"

That's insane!

Isn't that way too broken?!

"Whatever, who cares. I'll just use it first. Free stuff is free stuff. Not using it would be a waste."

After spacing out for a bit, Sam decided not to think too deeply about it and used the Super Regeneration as well.

Even though he already knew what it did, curiosity got the better of him. To test just how overpowered it was, he took a knife and slashed his own arm.

And then…

"Ow ow ow!!!"

The pain made tears well up in Sam's eyes.

Kurama, Wu Liuqi, and Elsa: "…"

Is this guy an idiot?

That said, Super Regeneration (Dragon Ball Buu version) really was absurd. Way more ridiculous than Wolverine or Deadpool.

The knife went in, and the moment it left the skin, the wound healed right back up.

Which made sense. After all, Buu's immortality in Dragon Ball was famously insane. Even when he was blown to bits, as long as he wasn't completely erased by ki, he wouldn't die.

Robin: "Seriously, are you stupid? There's an ability description and even a demonstration right next to it."

Sam: "So… I took that stab for nothing?"

The bad news hit him so hard that the knife slipped from his hand and clattered to the floor.

Kurama and the others: "At least you're self-aware."

Sam sighed. "I really made the wrong friends…"

Next, he pulled out another piece of equipment he had drawn: the Hell Sword.

"Hell Sword: Condensed from the power of the underworld hell, possessing unparalleled strength of the darkness and undead attributes."

Sam: "???"

"Hey, hey, isn't that description way too short?"

Robin: "The power of the Hell Sword is something you'll need to discover on your own."

Seriously, couldn't you just tell me the abilities outright?

Sam rolled his eyes.

Still, dark and undead attributes… no matter how you looked at it, that sounded kind of villainous.

When Sam imagined unleashing something like an undead apocalypse, he couldn't help worrying about whether his teammates would gang up and beat him senseless.

"Extracting item: Absolute Protagonist Halo (All-Worlds Edition)."

A glowing ring appeared in Sam's hand.

So…

Was he supposed to walk around with a halo over his head like an angel?

This time, Sam was smarter. He opened the description next to it and followed the instructions to use the so-called Absolute Protagonist Halo (All-Worlds Edition).

"Place it on your head."

The halo floated above Sam's head.

"Then crush it."

He clenched his hand. The halo shattered into countless points of light that began circling around him before sinking into his body.

"???"

Sam felt himself over. "Doesn't feel like anything changed?"

Robin: "This is the Super-Dimensional Mercenary Guild. Of course you won't feel any change here."

"But in other worlds, the halo's effects will show themselves."

"From now on, no matter which world you're in, you are the unquestioned protagonist. No matter what you do, the world will stand on your side. Even if what you want to do is destroy the world."

Kurama: "mmp… That's just unfair. Compared to this, Hashirama, Madara, and the rest are basically trash…"

Wu Liuqi: "…Damn it. I'm so jealous."

Elsa: "E-even if you destroy the world… the world itself will still side with the president?"

(?^?)!!

"....."
