"You have me mistaken for someone else."
Ruin's lips twist into a menacing smile. "I thought so, too, chasing the breadcrumbs you left purposely to deceive me like a fucking dog." Another rattle vibrates in his ribcage. "But surely, you didn't think I wouldn't find you eventually. I told you there was not a place you could hide from me. I never break my promises." His grip tightens. "You are coming with me."
I stomp down on the rising rage and stare blankly. "I do not know what you're talking about, I don't know who you are, and I sure as Hell, am going nowhere with you."
He yanks me smack into his chest, his fingers resting on the base of my neck. "I wasn't asking."
The air buckles.
Black fissures tear through the space around us, the atmosphere warping like fabric stretched too far. Horror widens my gaze as it begins to tear. The tear stretches wider and wider, waves of darkness lashing out of it, until it rips into a size large enough to fit through.
