Maybe…maybe I could remember who I am.
Maybe I have a home, a family… a mother, a father… siblings…
A small smile appears on his face.
For the first time since he woke up, a spark of hope fills his mind.
The floating window calls for his attention once again.
The options shine with clarity:
[use] [Trash]
He stays immobile, staring at them, as if standing in front of a decision that could change everything.
He swallows.
With determination —and a very slight tremble in his body— he selects an options.
—Here I go! The magician with no memories... use!
He says it internally, as if that would help him take control of the situation.
Darkness surrounds him immediately.
His eyes try to adapt, but there is nothing.
He can't see.
He can't hear.
He can't feel.
An absolute void consumes him, as if he was floating in his own mind.
—This is empty. —he thinks— Like my memory…
A bitter laugh escapes him.
He laughs at his own disgrace, as if this was all a cruel joke from destiny.
He laughs once more
But then… something changes.
The void is tainted with red. Thick, dense, violent colors. The atmosphere turns heavy and oppressive.
—Red and black… —he murmurs—. Bad combination…
A knot forms in his throat
Then a voice breaks the silence
—No! Please, no! I have a family!
Why me?!
The scream rumbles with desperation, loaded with pure terror. It didn't come from outside, it came from within.
the darkness clears the way enough for him to see.
The sight before him makes him freeze completely.
A battlefield.
The air is saturated with screams, metallic sounds and chaos.
Bodies fall onto the ground.
Blood stains the earth.
Human silhouettes fight grotesque figures.
There is no mercy.
There is no hope.
In the middle of the chaos, five beings make their through the battlefield.
But on the other side, a much smaller figure…
His presence emanates a dark, suffocating energy.
The tiny silhouette unsheathes a sword as dark as night itself, its edge reflecting an unnerving crimson red
His movements are terrifying.
In a single slash, one of the figures is split in half
The other four stop in their tracks and start to beg for their lives.
The creature isn't fazed.
It effortlessly slashes through another one, then grabs a third by the neck and slams it on the floor.
The sound of bones cracking rumbles around the battlefield.
A drowned gurgle…
And a dry snap.
Silence.
And a last slash echoes through the scene.
—What was that?!
His heart beats violently
Everything disappears.
The darkness appears once again.
He is left alone, trembling, incapable of processing what he's just seen.
—That…
That was my memory?
The screams resonate in his mind once again.
—why did I see someone asking me for help…?
And that silhouette… tearing people apart …?
A chill runs down his spine
—That thing…
Was it me?
He is overrun by fear
—If I was in that battlefield…
Does that mean we lost…?
humans against demons…?
He looks for an explanation.
Any explanation
—Maybe a beast hit my head so hard I lost my memories…
Yeah… That must be it.
But something doesn't fit.
Then, a word appears in his mind.
—Loki.
The name resonates with force.
—My name… Loki.
As if he needed to hear it more to believe it.
A nervous laugh invades him.
—I'm a magical crazy person with weird powers… and a vagabond.
What a shit life.…
He sighs.
—Shit… I'm an idiot.
He slowly gets up
—Well… I guess I'll need some sort of refuge.
He starts walking
And ten minutes later
This forest feels like it has no end.
dry and twisted trees surround him.
the rocks are gone; in their place, tangled roots cover the ground.
—gosh… why is this happening to me?
A chill runs down his spine.
He stops.
—it's as if… something were watching me…
A piercing pain goes through his head
—ugh! ¿What the hell…?
He ducks suddenly
In between the wet leaves, something emerges from the ground
