Louis's POV
So he finally decided to stop holding back. I wasn't surprised this was the decision he chose to make. Afterall, I had crushed his ego back in that room. And a man like him wasn't going to let it slide.
I set Lina down gently onto the edge of the bed, my hands trembling as her blood stained my coat.
"Say that again," I said, my voice dropping into a low register.
"Alpha Raphael," the guard stammered, clearly confused on how to phrase the news. "His Banewolf vanguard just breached the outer courtyard. They're armed, Your Highness. Raphael is demanding the immediate return of his daughter… Lina!"
Whispers instantly erupted from the guards and servants gathered in the hallway outside.
"Did he say Lina? She's a Banewolf bloodline?"
"How is that girl the daughter of the most powerful Alpha."
"Isn't there a peace threaty between NightFang and Banewolf? What is this supposed to mean?"
