The massive, unstable sphere of wild fire detonated against Lucien's position with an earth-shattering BOOM!
At the absolute last millsecond, Lucien screamed out an ancient incantation, "ᛊᚺᛁᛖᛚᛞ ᛗᛖ ᛒᛁᛏᚲᚺ ᚹᛁᚾᛞ!" raising his rapier as a shimmering, high-tier wind barrier materialized around him.
The dense gale wall absorbed the primary impact, but it wasn't nearly enough.
My raw, unrefined mana was so dense that the sheer kinetic shockwave crushed his spell-barrier like just some fragile glass, shattering it into dozens of pieces.
The blast tossed Lucien few feet backward through the scorching heat, slamming him heavily into the reinforced stone wall of the arena before he collapsed onto the sand in a broken, coughing heap.
The entire Arena/colloseum froze.
Hundreds of spectators sat in dead, stunned silence— until a hoarse, furious, ridiculously familiar voice exploded from the spectator stands behind me.
"THAT FUCKER! ISN'T THAT MY SPELL?!"
I winced and turned around.
