A fist crashed into his face.
The punch was so hard it cracked his jaw. Blinding pain exploded across his vision, and before he could recover, another blow landed—harder this time—making him feel like his soul was leaving his body.
"Do you remember her?" a voice screamed above him.
He tried to raise his arms to shield himself, but it was useless. Another brutal smash broke through his defense.
"Do you remember that name?"
With each crushing hit, he collapsed to the ground, still battered by relentless punches.
"Do you remember that rain?"
The attacker's eyes filled with tears of rage, his hands stained with blood.
He screamed again, voice raw and furious,
"Remember her screams! Remember her screams!"
Something scraped against the ground.
Then he saw it—a steel rod.
The rod came down hard, smashing into his skull.
He didn't die—but fell into a deep, unconscious sleep.
