Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Later That Night… 02:05 AM…

My eyes snapped open in the dead of night as the shiver down my spine kicked my sleepiness aside. Sitting up in my lazy-Boy, a natural groan escaped me as I finally sat up and wiped the muck from my eyes. Standing off to the side and leaning against the wall, was Tsunade as she peeked out the window without ruffling any of the blinds or curtains.

"The very first car just pulled up," Tsunade stated as I got up. "He parked right on the lawn too."

At that, I dropped a mighty F'bomb because I was a Southern boy, and it's mighty disrespectful to just park on a man's lawn like that. Then I watched as more and more vehicles arrived as I looked out my master bedroom window. Then I watched as some skinhead jumped out of his vehicle and started to piss on a tire that ran down onto my lawn.

Okay, fuck these guys, shit was now personal.

"Tsunade, you don't have to hold back, if they die, they die," I said, then brought up my hand and activated my omnitool, and dialed the number.

"911, What is your emergency?" The operator spoke nice and clearly for Tsunade and myself to hear.

With a sigh, I started to weave a nice tale, "Well, it looks like the local E88 nazi fucks think they can break in and use me as their latest display of foolishness."

The operator paused for a moment, then picked up with a calm voice. "Sir, are you able to go through the backdoor?"

I laughed at that question, "Nope, house surrounded but not for long."

"Sir, are there any parahumans?"

"Don't matter, to be honest, I can't judge who was who." I replied.

"Help is on the way, ETA 8mins, but why is that, sir."

"Simple really, I'm a firm believer in being able to help oneself." I spoke as I peered down at all the assholes gathering around hoping to kill me tonight. "And it's a good thing I also believe in the 2nd amendment."

"Sir, you know this is being recorded, and I can not condone advocating for murder." The lady on the other end stated.

I snorted at her over the call, "Please, we live in Massachusetts, and the last I checked, we had some of the best stand-your-ground laws in the nation next to our Castle Doctrine." I then paused as I looked out the window. "Damn, looks like Hooky is gonna be overseeing this one tonight."

"Sir, did you just say Hookwolf showed up… sir?"

"Yeah," I answered the 911 operator with a sigh. "Well, I guess it's time for me to get my c4 vest."

"Sir ordinance of that classification-."

"Is perfectly legal against grade 5 Brutes and up," I returned with a snarl. "Any of those other morons that might get caught in the crossfire is either going to die or get sued and jailed out the ass. And if I don't survive tonight, then fuck them anyway." And with that, I hung up the phone.

Tsunade shook her head at my antics, "You were having a little too much fun with that."

"It's being recorded and I bet your sweet ass it's going to end up on PHO." Stepping away from the window, I walked over to one of the sitting chairs and picked up my kit. It wasn't anything fancy because I wanted it all to look believable, but those outside this reality could easily tell that it was a Gears of War-styled ballistic vest armor.

Strapped to the front was my C4 shaped charge pack with double frowny faces. Hookwolf was differently going to get a kick out of this.

And if he didn't, I know a few military friends that will chuckle as they poured one out over my grave. I would rather die with a HOORAH!, then on my knees.

With two clicks over my shoulder and then two more around my waist, I had my Gears of War-styled armor locked and secured in place, The auto shotgun went on the left mag clip, the destiny shotgun went to the right, and the doom super shootie went across my lower back. None of these would ever need ammo as they would be auto-loaded once each connected to my armor, work smarter, not harder after all, and I wasn't going to fumble around with ammo in the middle of a firefight.

With an off tune hum , I pulled the portal gun off my hip and pointed at the wall inside of my bathroom. A quick flick of my finger turned the safety off as I pushed forward the location of my basement from my mind and the device lit up as the location was confirmed. Squeezing the trigger, I sent a beam forward to form a portal in the middle of the bathroom.
