**Chapter 4: The Weight of Talent**
With the immediate threat neutralized, Kai took it upon himself to understand more about the people around him, to prevent them from despair and falling prey to the manifestations of despair.
He started with Byakuya Togami. He attempted to speak with him, but the affluent prodigy wouldn't spare him more than a glance.
"You're simply an average nobody with no purpose here. You're a waste of space. I'm not interested in talking to you."
Kai frowned, the weight of the others' 'talents' began to press down. What was he doing here? What was he supposed to be? He was no programmer, no biker gang leader, no swimmer. He was just a gamer, who played Yu-Gi-Oh. All the other students had their ultimates which solidified their place in this academy, Kai felt like his ability was childish.
As Kai was thinking about this, the robotic voice buzzed in his ear once again.
**[MISSION ALERT: Despair Entity spotted in the gymnasium]**
Kai dragged himself to the gymnasium, where the entity lurked toward a sniffling Mondo Owada.
**[Despair entity: Initializing duel sequence]**
"Not this again," Kai groaned, drawing his cards.
