Amara's POV
The second I hit send on that text, my phone lit up with an incoming call.
But the bell had already chimed, and our teacher was already at the front, launching into today's lesson.
I sucked in a breath and declined the call with a quick swipe.
Right then, a DM from Heron popped up on my screen.
Heron: [Cut the act. I know you've got connections for intel. Why else would I message you specifically?]
I stared at my phone without typing anything back.
Heron: [It's the Exorcist, isn't it? Making wishes come true, basically a superhero?]
Blue sophiae: [Alright, I'll help you out. Just keep it quiet.]
Heron: [Yes! You're amazing!]
I didn't bother responding. I shoved my phone deep into my jeans pocket and looked up—straight into our teacher's furious glare from across the room.
My heart skipped.
Roland, our physics teacher, was ruthless, and even though the principal had asked him to go easy on me, his patience had clearly run out.
