The Viltrum Empire is no longer. The feared Conquerors of countless planets are now only known as history. When hubris and ambition lack the necessary strength to back up their faults, destruction is nigh.
Thragg died 121 years ago. Omni Man was killed hundreds before that, and Mark Grayson never came to be born.
And now, in this last battle, only one member of the race so feared mere centuries ago still breathes. Anissa. It hadn't started like this.
It was only when their ambition outclassed their capabilities. When they conquered a world with the device called the Omniversal World Engine.
They learned that not only were there other realities, there were an infinite number of them. So they set out to conquer those as well.
At the beginning it worked.
They were renowned and feared throughout multiple universes.
But alas, all empires eventually crumble. And the Viltrum Empire was no different. They encountered a race that rivaled their own and ultimately drove them to extinction.
But a brave Viltrumite warrior, Anissa, had the last fragment of the O.W.E. removed from the the main device, and used it to teleport herself to safety.
She found herself in a reality quite strange. There were a myriad of races, but one man from one race in particular caught her eye.
He was from a warrior race, also nearly extinct, and he was strong. With that observation, she made a choice to preserve the legacy of her race with his progeny.
And not ten months later, a boy was born, a boy that contains the bloodlines of two of the most powerful interstellar conqueror races, who both live for the thrill of power and combat.
He is a Saiyan, but he is also a Viltrumite. And that unexpected heritage births a monster that the 12 universes never could've imagined in its worst nightmares.
He is the fusion of a derailed reality never meant to be. But in its arrival, it brings a boy with no limit to his potential, and a thirst for blood like no one could've predicted.
His story begins in the sky above a small riverside house under a full moon...
[3rd person POV]
In a forest not recognizable at first glance, an unusual scene is taking place. A tall woman with short brown hair hovers dozens of feet in the air over a small house on the riverside. In her arms, a small bundle lays tightly wrapped in her rigid embrace.
Upon closer inspection, you would find a small infant suckling from her breast as it feeds its insatiable appetite.
The wind blows as the woman remains in her position, not sparing even a glance at her child nursing against her bossom.
Moments go by just like this until from the house below, a figure flies up and meets her in the sky, a goofy grin on his face.
The man's ink black hair and eyes could be considered the most striking and prominent feature of his body, but that is entirely a matter of opinion.
It could just as easily be his astounding height, at least 6'6" tall, or his perfect musculature, lean-buff with almost perfect aesthetical symmetry.
Whatever your preference is, you can decide, but the fact that can't be denied is that this man has a presence that is hard to ignore.
"Goku..." The woman mutters, a slight ripple of emotion flashing across her face as she looks at the man.
A hesitatant look appears on her face, although the darkness of the night hides it completely.
As a member of a conqueror race, she usually was foreign to concepts such as love or attraction.
If she had sex with a man, it was in an attempt to produce a child superior to the majority of the Viltrum race, and one which would grow to become a warrior to aid in the Viltrum Empire's mission.
She never copulated for pure carnal pleasure, or for a fleeting sensation such as relaxation. It was always for the future prosperity and betterment of her people.
But... somewhere along the line when she was with this man... that changed.
She started to feel like he was more than a sperm donor. More than a means to an end to produce a strong child for the Viltrum Empire.
She started feeling... at ease. Relaxed. Even... joyful. Even though she couldn't identify the exact emotions, she knew something within her had changed.
And she was conflicted. A life of constant battle and being surrounded by death makes being peaceful and relaxed seem even more stressful.
Goku didn't mind, he often found her fierce reactions to sudden noises funny, but it still begged the question. Could she enjoy her life without battle?
The answer came when she bore Goku's son. Looking into his eyes, darker than an abyss, and gazing at his flawless and beautiful face, she felt... nothing. Her first thought was, He'll serve the Empire well.
And that made her realize that a warrior at heart cannot abandon the battlefield in pursuit of mundane pleasures such as motherhood and love.
She would never be more than a warrior. A conqueror. A Viltrumite. The last of her race.
And so, she decided to leave her newborn son here, so that the life she would never have could instead be achieved through him.
As soon as this thought flashed through her mind, a crack of pure energy appeared on her leg, bringing unbearable agony. She realized she wouldn't get a mundane life either way.
The price for using the fragment of the Omniversal World Engine without the device to refine its energy is that she herself becomes the vessel to refine the energy.
And pure Omniversal energy is something no one, not even a Viltrumite, can survive. In less than twelve hours, she would be dead.
With that thought in mind, she flies to Goku's house where his wife and kids reside, and waits for him to do the thing he dies where he senses someone's energy.
Sensing Ki he calls it.
And that leads to this scene, Anissa handing their kid off to Goku.
Goku's usually goofy face turns serious. His brows furrow in confusion, and mouth turns into a slight frown as he struggles to understand the situation.
"Anissa... what-" He starts, before Anissa cuts his off with a monotone sentence.
"He's yours... and mine."
Goku's eyes widen noticeably and his expression morphs into one of extremely shocking.
He's married and has two kids and a granddaughter. And more than anything, he loves Chi Chi. Sure, she might be a little overbearing at times, and she may be feisty, but she is the love of his life.
And to make matters worse, he considers Anissa a friend, and knows with almost one hundred percent certainty that he never was intimate with Anissa.
So that begs the glaring question of how had Anissa had his kid.
As if reading his thoughts, Anissa shifts slightly, handing over the bundle to Goku with a thrust not typically recommended to be used when it comes to handling newborn babies.
Eyes widening even further, Goku gingerly catches the baby before looking up at Anissa with minor annoyance.
He opens his mouth to speak, but Anissa quickly cuts him off before he can do so. She knows that once he utters the first syllable, his annoying habit of not shutting up will kick in.
And she doesn't have time to waste listening to his nonsense. She has only a few hours left before she I fractured at a cellular level by the O.W.E.'s fragment recoil. And she needs to explain to Goku what transpired to get to this moment.
"I'm dying, Goku," She says without a hint of emotion, causing a simply retarded look of confusion to cross the Saiyan man's face. His eyes are wide, and his mouth hangs open comically.
"You... Saiyans... eat quite a bit. And you don't check for poisons. I knew I couldn't one hundred percent beat you in a fight, so I drugged your food and used your body while you were sleeping. He is ours." She finishes, looking not at all embarrassed to admit to Goku that she drugged him, and tucked him while he was unconscious in order to get pregnant with his kid.
Goku is shocked. He considered Anissa a friend. He had patched her up and gave her a home when he found her half-dead in the forest a little over a year ago. To hear that she did that, and is now just thrusting the full responsibility onto him... he doesn't personally mind, he really isn't one to think about much more than getting stronger. The real problem is Chi Chi. This was going to be a problem.
As he rarely shuts up, let alone look as if he's actually pondering something, Anissa stays silent.
Goku finally looks up, a few moments later, only to see a scene that he would never forget. Anissa... is crumbling. A bright light more powerful than any Ki he had ever sensed bursts from the Crack like fissure spreading rapidly over her body. Even as that thought processes in his mind, her body starts to crumble away into nothingness.
He looks at her, a blur of conflicted expressions passing over his face.
"Goku," Anissa says, calm and collected despite her inevitable death. "Make him strong. Make him a warrior. He is my legacy. And now, my legacy is Viltrum's legacy..."
There, in the night sky, Anissa dies, her atoms burned as fuel for the very thing she thought had helped her escape. The only witnesses her son's father, the Saiyan Goku, and the night sky.
Goku looks down at the boy in his arms and playfully nudges him, although his usually carefree expression is a mix of sadness, pain, and shock.
"Anissa didn't tell me your name. Should I give you a weird name like hers?" Hearing no reply from the newborn, he sighs. "How about... huh?"
Goku gasps in surprise. In the blanket around the boy, a note slips out. It reads:
If you're reading this, it means you are now old enough to train. Get strong. Kill your enemies and show no weakness lest they become your downfall. You are the last Viltrumite, the embodiment of our legacy. And you are meant for one thing. Win. Conqueror, destroy, and defeat all obstacles that stand between you and overwhelming victory. Because Victory is everything.
Goku grins. That really is something Anissa would say, isn't it.
"I got it! Your name will be..."
