Chapter 26 – The Storm's Humiliation
Across the courtyard, Xun Lanyue had been spying from her window the entire night, her eyes glued on Han's room.
Rain started to pour heavily, soaking the roof above her. She didn't move. She needed to see if that "fool" Xueran dared to touch her Han Zixuan.
Suddenly—
CRAAACK!
A bolt of lightning struck the tree outside, splashing mud and filth right through her open window.
"AHHHH!" Xun shrieked. Brown muck splattered across her silk dress, streaked her perfect hair, and smeared her makeup until she looked like a drenched ghost crawling out of a swamp.
She gasped, trembling, rage boiling inside her—and then…
Pfffft—!
A puff of smoke escaped her painted lips. Her lipstick was smeared, eyeliner dripping down her cheeks. To her horror, she looked like a smoking demon clown.
"WTF—?!" she yelled, waving her hands frantically.
Her driver rushed forward with an umbrella, but the moment he saw her filthy, smoky face, he froze in fear and looked away.
"Don't you dare look at me!" she screamed."Yes, Miss!" the driver squeaked, staring at the ground.
Furious, humiliated, Xun stomped back to the car, mud dripping onto the leather seats. Her eyes burned with hatred.
"Qiao Xueran… I'll make you pay for this humiliation."
