Chapter 34 - 34:Late

The girl's eyes snapped open; she reached up and held my arm, trying to pull me into the water. Her long nails are digging into my arm.

"Thats not going to work on me."

My other arm came around her neck and pulled her directly out of the water like a fish.

'She is a fish'

I laughed out loud at that thought. Her eyes widened in shock. She had clearly expected to pull me into the water with how smug she looked when she opened her eyes.

"You're not wrinkling up or having problems breathing, it seems you can survive well enough outside water,r and hereIi was worried."

I said to the struggling siren who paused and looked at me with eyes filled with anger.

"So you can understand what I'm saying, right?"

She didn't speak but her small change in expression was enough. She could understand what I was saying.

"Can you stop digging your nails into me? I don't want to break your arm, just remove it."

I said coldly. Mother had told me not to waste any of my blood. She smiled wickedly and continued to dig deeper.

My hands that were lightly wrapped around her neck tightened.

"Since you can breathe, then I can cut off your breath, right?"

Her mouth opened as she desperately tried to breathe. The hand that was tightening around my wrist loosened until it dropped down.

I dipped her back into the water, and she took a deep breath, even with my hand wrapped around her neck.

'Gills'

I wondered where they were. I pulled her out of the water. I loosened my hold on her neck and brought her close to me.

"Your gills should be behind your ears right?"

She brought her hand and covered her ears as she shook her head her eyes widening in terror.

"I wonder how it functions, does it work just like a fish? Or are your breathing systems different?"

I mumbled to myself. This just made me more and more curious. The ability to breathe on both water and land without any problem.

"Please don't hurt me."

Her voice startled me out of my musings. She had the most beautiful voice. It felt like a symphony of musical instruments molded into one voice and placed in her.

"Gills must be important since it got you to talk," I chuckled, "I thought you were dumb. "

She shook her head.

"She can talk!"

Abelion shouted loud enough for his voice to echo in the laboratory.

"You don't really have to shout, I could have heard you perfectly well."

I jumped down from the top of the fish tank and landed softly on the ground.

"Master, are you still hurt?"

Luna ran and started to check my body and my already healed hand frantically. I could see the worry in her eyes.

Since I had forbidden her from following me to the top, she must have been itching to come up and check, but couldn't.

"I'm fine luna, no one can hurt your master."

She nodded before stepping back and glared at the siren in my hand. The girl shrank into herself more. Luna's glare wasn't something anyone could stand.

"In you go."

I placed the siren into the static chamber filled with water.

"Isn't this useless now since she can talk?"

Abeloin said while curiously studying her.

"No, this will give me easier access to study her."

I said. It also made it easier for her if she had thoughts of escaping, she would not cause a lot of damage. Right now she was still too unstable to leave her in such a large tank.

If she manages to break the fish tank it will flood the whole lab. I knew she was strong, but I wasn't sure about her strength.

To be able to break through high-level spells wasn't something just anyone would do.

The chamber was much smaller and restrictive and was personally reinforced by me every time Abelion finished making one.

"What do you eat?"

I asked her since none of us were very clear about her diet.

"Anything. "

She mumbled in the water but it was loud enough for us to understand.

"Tell the head slave to feed her a balanced meal."

I told Abeloin who was behind me. He nodded and ran out of the laboratory with Isis behind him.

"Young master, it's morning."

Luna said after a short bout of silence. I looked at the siren one last time before turning to Luna, a smile painting my face.

"Well let's go home before sister decides to find me herself ."

I walked out of the laboratory with Luna following right behind me quietly. I had not noticed it, but I had spent the entire night and day in the laboratory.

Since it was the last day before we go to school tomorrow, it was better to spend time with Seraph since I had promised her. I didn't want to break my promise.

"What gift should I buy?"

I asked Luna as we passed by the business street. Since the Bloodmoor estate was located in the Central part of the capital, we were almost home.

"Isn't it better if you bring the young lady to buy whatever she wants herself?"

Luna said softly.

"Yes, why did I not think of that?"

"You are inept in the matters of the heart master."

I gasped dramatically.

"Did you just say that, my darling Luna?"

"It's the truth master."

"That is why I have you, you understand me the most, don't you?"

Luna turned and looked at me then nodded.

"Yes, master."

I chuckled and pulled her into my arms. She leaned on me without any resistance.

A few moments later the carriage pulled into the estate and slowed to a stop.

Luna, who had already gotten out of my arm, got off first.

"Young master, the young mistress requires your presence in the study. "

The butler said the moment I got out of the carriage. I nodded to luna dismissing her before heading to the house. I could already imagine my sister fuming at my tardiness.

I arrived at the study door and knocked.

"Seraph, may I come in?"

I said through the door after she didn't respond.

"Come in."

Her commanding voice came through the door. I smiled and opened the door and closed it behind me.

Her study was just like mother. The left wall was filled with books on management and politics, papers on one side of her desk, a small couch placed on the side of the room, and a cabinet filled with different kinds of drinks on the wall behind her seat.

Her desk faced the door directly. She was sitting behind it, busy writing on a document, completely ignoring me.

I walked towards her and leaned over the desk opposite her. I placed my hands on both of her cheeks and forced her to look up at me.

I was met with a glare.

"Are you cross with me?"

She didn't respond but still glared at me. I smiled before raising her face higher and kissing her. I started slowly sucking her bottom lip softly. She didn't close her eyes as she started to respond.

We looked at each other while softly kissing. I pressed her jaw, forcing her to open her mouth, and my tongue dived in.

She didn't stop me but closed her eyes as I started to explore her mouth. Our tongues tangled in a battle of wits.

She tasted like wine which she must have been drinking. Our saliva mixed as we kissed hard.

"You forgive me?"

I separated from her and asked. She didn't open her eyes, but she wrapped her hands around my neck and pulled me down to her.

Her tongue entered my mouth softly , this was the first time she had boldly initiated a kiss. We kissed for a long time as we enjoyed each other's company and taste.

Despite kissing her a lot. Every time we kissed felt new and exciting. I don't think I would ever get tired of her taste.

"Why were you late?"

She asked me after we separated. My thumb was gently rubbing her swollen lip, spreading our spit even more, making it shinier. I loved that a part of me will always be inside of her wherever she goes.

"I got caught up in my experiments ."

I answered honestly.

"You bought a siren?"

She asked. I had expected this question.

"Yes, I've never seen one. I got a bit curious, you understand, right?"

She shook her head.

"No, I don't, Lucian. Your spending is a bit too much. I can hide some of your spending from mother but this was too much."

I kissed her on her eyes, then her nose, and her cheeks, and placed our foreheads together.

"You don't have to worry about that, mother already knows, I'm sure of it." I dismissed her worries, "Do you want to go for an outing, ill pay for everything you buy?"

Her eyes widened at my request before excitement took over.

"Is it just the two of us or are you bringing that maid of yours. She's always with you everywhere."

She said sulky. I chuckled at that. It was true, the thought of leaving Luna alone wasn't something I would ever be comfortable with, but a day wouldn't hurt.

"No, it's just you and me. The guards won't even follow us."

I rounded the table and pulled her out of her chair. She didn't resist.

"How about you change then we can go. All my attention will only be on you."
