Chapter 6 - Bloody jeans

A bell rang signifying the end of the school's lunch time.

"Hey Delina, aren't you coming in?" A feminine voice echoed in the background.

"Yeah, yeah in a minute" Delina answered, dusting crumbs off her skirt.

"2 little birdies flying side by side, one hit a window the other one thought it died..." she hummed softly, when she caught a figure by the side of her eye.

A subtle wind brushed through her, as she turned back.

"Delina?" Her name echoed in the background again.

"Alright! I'm coming" she answered, returning her gaze.

She stepped into the class, heading towards her seat.

"Hey Delina" her seat mate whispered. "I'm having a party next week, would you like to come?"

"A party? I donno, maybe" Delina answered, sitting properly in her seat.

"Ok class, enough chattering and open your text books to chapter 6" the woman standing Infront of the board yelled. "Today we would be learning about radioactive waves and their effects".

Gently turning to the board, to write.

Delina sat there focus.

Everything around her, slowly going silent.

A sudden urge to look out the window.

Slowly she turned, satisfying her urges when she noticed a figure outside.

Vague.

Shielded halfway by an umbrella in its hand.

"What the hell..." She whispered, squinting.

"Mrs Misow!"

"What are you staring at?" The teacher snapped.

Delina immediately faced her "Oh nothing mam, I think there's someone out..." swiftly returning her gaze outside.

But there was nothing there.

"...side"

"Mrs Misow, please we don't have time for silly games, take your book and focus," the teacher stated, turning back to the board.

"Weird, the sun must be crazy this time of the day" she whispered.

The bell rang again not long after.

"Alright class tomorrow we shall pickoff from here tomorrow" the teacher yelled marking her register.

"Uhm, Mrs Misow?" She called out

"Yes mam".

"I need you to write me an essay on pollution in the post-apocalyptic world, as punishment for your lack of focus today".

"Wait what?," "but mam I didn't..."

"I don't want to hear about it Delina, just get me my homework tomorrow understood?".

"Yes mam" Delina answered, walking out furious.

She stepped on a bus heading to Misow lane.

Shortly arriving Infront of a big house some minutes later.

Softly pressing a button beside the door. It opened and standing before her was her big sister.

"Hey Delina how was school?" She asked.

"Ugh, crazy as usual Mia" she replied.

"Not surprised there, food is in the microwave, mums not home also Ethan and Liam are in the living room, so be nice".

"I'll try" she answered stepping in.

"What's up Delina?" Liam welcomed.

"All good" she replied.

"Hey D, how was school?".

She shot me a sharp look.

"D? Seriously Ethan". "I get punished for no reason now I've got a weirdo in my living room calling me D?". "Just perfect" she complained walking up the steps.

"What's with her Mia?".

"Bro girls and you do not mix at all" Liam giggled.

"Omg, that's a harsh one Liam" Mia mocked sitting on the couch. Komisch junge

"Oh shit dude! I swear she called you homeless" Liam misquoted.

"Ha-ha, really funny coming from a whore".

"Oh no, I'm so heart broken, at least this whore bagged a Nurse for a girlfriend".

"Doctor!" Mia corrected.

Teressa would kill me.

"So Ethan what did you want to tell us".

"Uhm?" I paused, trying to recall.

"Oh yes".

"Ever since that day on the bridge and in that hallway, something's been bugging me".

"Wait what hallway?" Liam questioned.

"Oh yeah you weren't there" Mia answered.

"That was where we got that stuff you was suppose to trade, before almost getting us killed".

A brief silence wavered.

"Wait where's the vat chick?" he asked further.

"That's what I was about to tell you liam".

"During the whole happenings in that Hall I came across some documents. A lot of stuff where in it made no sense, especially the word Cyclops order which kept on repeating".

"So I did some research".

I paused.

"And?..." Liam asked.

I opened the bag I came with, and from within brought out a laptop. Covered in wires and chips. In a world where technology is only advanced based on the combination of remains left from previous parts. The closest thing next to advanced tech would be a graffiti doll with parts from other dolls.

"Is that supposed to be a computer?" Liam spoke sarcastically.

"I don't know, how about you try to building one out of junk then I say "is that suppose to be something cool?".

"Awwn, Liam you hurt his feelings".

"Omg, I didn't know he was so sensitive" Liam teased. "Do you need a bubu wrap?"

"...guys" I spoke.

"Come on Liam, he clearly worked hard gathering these parts".

"Oh no, if Ethan needed parts he should have just asked me". "I'm such Teresa got a hand or a brain in her office".

"...guys" I spoke again.

"Come on Liam, stop it". "He's really sensitive about these kind of things and you..."

"Guys!" I yelled.

"For Christ's sake I'm sitting right here!"

"This is important and you ain't even listening".

A few seconds of silence came after before.

"You really are sensitive Ethan Liam kept on teasing".

"Come on Liam let's not..."

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!"

A sharp scream erupted upstairs.

"What was that?" I asked, gazing at Mia for answers.

She returned my gaze. "Delina?"

A piercing scream bolted from the upstairs again.

"Shit Delina!" Mia yelled running up immediately, and we followed.

"Delina?" She yelled once more before bursting the room door open.

And there she was. Folded In her sheets?

"Someone's following me, outside".

"What?" Liam questioned, walking towards the window.

"Holy shit someone is out there" Mia confirmed, immediately stepping out of the room.

"Hey what are you going to do?" I asked suspecting her sudden exit.

"Watch me" She phrased, heading back downstairs.

Came to the front door holding a baseball bat in her hand.

"Hey you fucking paedophile, you're fucked up now" she yelled coming towards him.

Liam and I both ran downstairs.

"Mia calm down ok, let's reason with the dude first" Liam cautioned.

"Hell nah" she resisted pacing towards him with the bat.

With a swift swing, slammed it in the man's head, and down he went.

"Shit Mia!" We yelled rushing to restrain her.

I grabbed her from behind.

"Chill Mia he's bleeding" Liam stated standing between them.

"Please I'm sorry she made me do it" this man stuttered.

A tall slim man, barely a strand of hair on his head. Probably around the age of 50.

"She?" Liam rephrased.

"What do you mean she?" Mia yelled.

A scream blasted out Delina's room.

"Delina!" Mia yelled, running back in.

Liam looked at me, eyes filled with questions and I the same.

Then a second scream bolted from the room. Immediately we ran in.

"Mia?" I yelled entering the house.

We rushed up stairs to find Mia hastily walking out. Tears in her eyes.

"Hey Mia!" I called gripping her hand.

She turned and my expressions went cold.

Her eyes covered in tears. Her facial expression trying to conceal the burning pain she hid under.

"Uh Ethan", Liam called.

I let her go then stepped in the room.

It was entirely messed up, stained at various corners with blood.

What the hell! I whispered, overwhelmed in utter confusion.

Where's Mia? Liam asked.

She went down stairs.

Oh no dude, she's going to kill that guy, Liam said running outside.

We came to the front door.

She was on top the man, constantly hitting him with her fist.

Mia! We screamed, running to hold her.

I grabbed her, but her resilience was tough.

Mia! I whispered, attempting to calm her down.

Hitting him wouldn't get us answers. We will find what happened to her ok. I constantly whispered.

Her raging pant slowly dissipating.

Then she started crying.

"It's ok Mia, we are here for you ok" I comforted.

She turned, wrapping her arms around me crying.
