Chapter 1 - chapter 1 : The beginning

Author's Note:

All characters and the world of Murder Drones belong to GLITCH Productions and Liam Vickers.

This story is a fan-made reimagining, written from my own perspective, with original ideas added out of respect and admiration for the original series.

--------------------------------------------------

On a deserted and barren planet covered with snow and storms called "Copper-9", there are three killer robots called "dissample drones" sent by a company called "JCJANSEN in spaceaaaace".

Their mission was to eliminate all the corrupt robots that took over the planet after its core exploded due to a technical error that led to the elimination of all humans, the destruction of most buildings, and the poisoning of the air, making it uninhabitable except for the worker drones who were also on it.

Their mission was to serve humans, but after their death, they took advantage of this opportunity to start a new life for themselves. However, after the arrival of the dissample drones, their numbers decreased significantly, and the remaining worker drones took refuge in the mountains or underground, or they built strong and fortified shelters with iron doors that even the dissample drones could not open.

The first member of the squad is serial designation (J), who is the leader of the dissample drones squad. She is a female robot with needle-like legs, wearing an outfit similar to office attire, and has white hair styled in pigtails. J is characterized by her strict discipline and loyalty to the company, as she is keen on completing the required number of worker drones that must be eliminated, as determined by the company, and she makes sure not to fall behind in this. She is also not very forgiving towards those who slack off in their work.

The second member of the squad is serial designation (V), a female robot with short white hair and, like J, she has pointed legs and wears a black jacket. She is a more skilled hunter than J, but her personality is complex and sometimes crazy. Her main focus is hunting the worker drones only, and sometimes she tortures them before killing them. She follows the company's orders but is not completely loyal, doing whatever she wants. Even when J scolds her for this behavior, she doesn't care as long as she can hunt the worker drones and drink their fluids; nothing else matters to her.

The third member of the team is serial designation (N), and he is a tall male robot with white hair who wears a long jacket and piolt hat on his head . What most distinguishes him is his smile, optimism, extremely kind heart, and loyalty to his friends or anyone close to him. However, his problem is that he is not good at hunting robots, or rather, killing them, even though he needs the worker drones' oils like his teammates because when their system temperature rises, they need these oils for cooling. His relationship with his team members is considered cold, as V barely remembers his name, and J scolds and punishes him very harshly for not performing his work.

On a snowy and stormy night on the planet Copper-9, two worker drones were walking through an abandoned city where most of the buildings and roads were destroyed, the roads were full of broken cars, and most of them had frozen skeletons of humans who died from the explosion, one of them tall and blue eyes and wearing a blue jacket named Don and the other shorter than him and he had white eyes and wore a sports uniform called Ro.

Don says as he moves among the wrecked cars, followed by Ro, "Move quietly and cautiously, we don't want these things to notice us".

Don looked at him with a horrified look, took his hand, pulled him behind one of the cars, and said to him, "What do you think you're doing? Are you trying to kill us, you fool?"

Ro replied, "Well, firstly, you're the fool, and secondly, do you still believe these stories?" He continued, walking beside one of the frozen structures, "Do you really believe that there are creatures with wings and claws who only appear at night to hunt us and feed on our oils?"

Don said to him with a look of tension and confusion on his face, "Fantasy or reality, I just want to get home safely." His expression changed to one of anger, and he continued, "Besides, you're the fool who wants to go out at night. Why don't we postpone it until morning?"

Ro told him, "The reason we came out at this time, smarty, is to prove to these cowards that there is nothing to be afraid of outside, and also to gain popularity, especially among the girls." He continued as he walked to the middle of the road, "Is there any vampire robot that wants to kill me?"

Nothing happened, but before Don could say anything, one of the dissample drones landed on him and completely crushed him under his feet. Don saw this in horror and tried to escape, but the dissample drone turned one of his hands into something resembling a gun and shot him, hitting him in the shoulder.

Don tried to stand up and continue running, but the pain prevented him, so he decided to crawl. However, he felt something stand over him and pick him up. When Don saw the face of the dissample drone, it was a tall, white-haired creature wearing a coat with a pilot's hat on its head.

Don tried to speak, but his injury and the sight of his dead friend, trampled by this monster, prevented him. However, he gathered what little strength he had left and said in a fearful voice, "Please... don't... kill me... I have a family... please."

N looked at him with pity and sadness and said to him, "I'm sorry, my friend." He turned one of his hands into a sword while holding the robot in his other hand and continued in a voice full of regret, "I wish it were up to me." Then he plunged the sword into the robot he was holding in his hand, and the words FATAL ERROR appeared on the dead robot's face.

N began to drink the oil from the robot greedily, and before he finished his meal, an alert came to his screen that he had to return to the spire before sunrise.

N carried what was left of his meal and the other robot that he had crushed, or what was left of it, and put out his wings to fly, and while doing so, he said to himself, "Well, at least I won't return empty-handed tonight because I hunted two robots." He continued, sighing, "I just hope J doesn't punish me like last time."

As N flew over the ruined buildings, he approached a mountain of the body of the worker drones piled on top of each other, and on each of their screens appeared the words FATAL ERROR. This mountain was the spire that he and his coworkers had made when they came to this deserted planet and placed the ship they came in inside it. It may look gruesome and frightening, but for N it was better than nothing , beside it is protecting them from the sun light .

N entered the spire and landed on the ground. When he looked around and examined the place, he realized he was the first to arrive. He carried the two drones he had hunted during the night and placed them with the rest of the bodies. As he was doing so, he heard a voice coming from behind him. It was the sound of someone landing. Here, he realized that his coworkers had also arrived.

The first to land was J, followed by V. The first thing J saw upon landing was N, and upon seeing him, her expression shifted to annoyance and disgust. She said in a sighing voice, after placing her hands on her hips, "I assume you at least caught something today, right?" Before N could answer, she said in an angry tone, "Because if I find out you were slacking off and playing with snow or reading one of those dog stories, I swear I won't just hit you this time; I will cut you and throw you outside while I watch the sun burn you."

N looked at her in fright, trying to gather himself. He hadn't forgotten when J caught him playing during work and the punishment she inflicted on him, whose effects were still on his body to this day. "Of course not, boss, I wasn't..." he continued with a smile on his face, "In fact, I made progress today, I've caught two targets, what do you think?"

J looked at him, trying to contain her anger and choose her words carefully before tearing him to shreds. She took a deep breath, then gave a smile and approached N, putting her hand on his shoulder and said in a cheerful voice, "Wow, N, only two targets? That's great and better than your previous numbers. What a clear progress!" She continued after pressing on his shoulder, which she gripped so hard that she almost made him fall to the ground, "But the number the company set for us in one day is 50 drones." Suddenly, J delivered a punch to N, hitting his stomach and knocking him to the ground.

N tried to respond to J, but she didn't let him and continued in a voice mixed with sarcasm, anger, and joy as well, "So I guess you are a little behind on the required number." Suddenly, she kicked him with a powerful kick that made him fly from his place and hit the wall.

N tried to stand up, but the pain prevented him, as he spat out some oil from his mouth, and his screen was slightly broken from the force of the blow. J approached him, that smile still on her face, "You see, V and I have caught the required number of drones." She delivered another punch to him, and as she continued, "I caught 52 drones" and delivered another punch to his face, leading to the complete shattering of his screen on the right side and turning her hand into a sword. She continued, "And V caught 66 drone" and cut off his right hand and continued, "So I think..." and cut off his left hand, "that the past punishment didn't teach you anything."

N tried to say something, but J cut off his jaw with her sword and said, "You see, the company gave us a mission, which is to eliminate the corrupt drones on this planet." She struck him with the sword on his chest and turned her hand from a sword into a taser and continued, "And since we arrived here 20 years ago, you haven't been doing your job..." she approached him and struck his body with the taser and said in an angry tone, "...properly."

N tried to scream, but he couldn't because of his cut jaw, and J continued, increasing the power of the taser with every word she said, "Why, N? Why, huh? Every time you come back with the same excuse, and every time I punish you, but you're like an idiot, you don't understand." Then, she turned her hands from a taser into a flamethrower and fired at N, "For 20 years we've been like this, but you tried to put in effort, even a little."

After she stopped burning him, N tried to stand on his feet, but J returned her hand to its original state and said while delivering punches to him with every word she said, "So" punch "what" punch "the" punch "reason" punch "for" punch "your" punch "slacking" punch and punch and punch and punch "answer me" punch "you little" punch "fool" punch "failure" punch "slacker" punch "you piece of worthless scrap" punch punch punch "answer me now." Then, she turned both of her hands into an electric taser and with all her power, she zapped him again, but this time with doubled power, to the extent that if he had a mouth, his vocal cords would have been torn from screaming. Afterwards, J stopped and noticed that the sun was starting to rise.

She picked him up with one of her hands and threw him into the sun's rays, and N began to burn, and the sun was about to finish him off before J pulled him into the spire, carrying him with one of her hands and looking at him with anger and throwing him to the ground and stomping on his chest with one of her pointed feet and saying, "N, you are garbage, and if the company gave me the choice, I would disassemble and get rid of you completely." Then she continued as she drove her foot into his chest, "You have only one week; if you don't improve your work, I swear the next punishment will be harsher and stronger."

When J walked away from N, her face showed some relief after she took out her anger on him, but N on the other hand was suffering and his body could barely regenerate after all the damage he had received from J.

When he regained his sight, V saw the drone that he admired, sitting not far away, eating one of the corpses of the worker drones, as she had been standing there the whole time, and she did not think to help him or protect him from J, because she ignored everything that happened and focused only on her food in reality.

It was not the first time, as V always ignored him or forgot that he even existed, even his name, which consists of one letter, which she did not remember sometimes.

N never said anything or complained because he was trying to convince himself that J was trying to help him and doing all this for his benefit. As for V, how many times had she ignored him? He was not even bothered by that, and to him, she was too good to be angry with her.

N pulled himself to a corner of the spire and leaned his body against the wall of an abandoned building and said, "What a good day, my friend." N turned his gaze to the person sitting next to him.

He was a mysterious person with unknown features due to the mask he was wearing in the shape of a skull, and he was wearing what appeared to be black clothes that looked like formal clothes if you focused on them.

He was sitting next to N and did not say anything to him, but merely looked at him and the poor condition of his body.

N continued, "She was really angry this time." But I don't blame her, she is doing this for my benefit. She is a wonderful leader, isn't she? And V was sitting there. I think she saw me or noticed me at least this time." His friend did not answer him, but merely looked at him.

Suddenly, N heard a voice coming from behind him, saying, "Who are you talking to?" This was V's voice, and she seemed surprised. All she saw was N, leaning his back against the wall, sitting alone, as there was no other person sitting next to him.

N said in a surprised voice, trying to pull himself together, "V, I was talking to my friend Sol." He continued while embarrassed and turned to Sol, "You know my friend who apparently no one can see except me, but he is not my imagination because..." and when he turned to V, he saw that she had left.

He did not blame her. When he told V and J about his friend, they did not believe him. In fact, J even punished him because she thought he was playing during work hours, and V did not care because N was making friends with rocks. Even with this, he continued to talk to this Sol and considered him like a friend because he finally found someone to talk to and listen to him other than his coworkers who were either ignoring him (V) or punishing him (J).

After N's body completed rebuilding itself, he got up from his place and said to Sol, "Okay, it's time to take a rest before work." He continued, waving to Sol, "See you tomorrow, buddy, good night." N went to one side of the spire, and this was the side that J put him in it to sleep away from her and V, and he assumed a position resembling a vampire in sleep, where he was hanging by his tail and covering his body with his wings, and before he entered the sleeping position, he said, "Well, tomorrow is a new day and a better day..... I hope so... I hope so."
