"Bastard! You dare kill our brothers?!"
Seven or eight people dressed as villagers rushed out, each holding a long blade, furious as they charged at Hyuga Arin.
"So they really aren't from a major ninja village."
…
[Experience +763]
Seven or eight people gave him only that much experience, along with a pile of completely useless junk.
For example—
[Old Kunai: +5–10 Attack Power]
[Skill: Substitution Technique]
Either he couldn't use it, or he already had it. Given their strength, there was no point expecting anything better.
The quality of drops was related to the person's overall strength.
Not chakra alone, but comprehensive combat power—the stronger the individual, the better the drops; the weaker they were, the worse the loot.
Hyuga Arin sat down on a chair the village chief had carried over.
After all, elders needed exercise too. Even though the village chief was old, moving around was good for his health.
Kneeling before Hyuga Arin was a wandering ninja dressed as a villager, his face full of regret as he cried.
"We didn't want to do this either, but Konoha has gone crazy lately—driving us away everywhere. We wanted to go to the Land of Rain, but the borders are full of Konoha ninja. We only planned to hide in this village temporarily…"
The man was sobbing miserably. They had only wanted to wait until things calmed down—who knew they'd wait for a killing star instead.
He kills people this easily… does his family know?
The man complained silently in his heart, but he didn't dare say it aloud. If he did, he'd probably be next.
"So," Hyuga Arin interrupted coldly, "are there actually bandits around here?"
"Huh?" The man stared blankly at Hyuga Arin.
Just how much hatred do you have toward bandits? You're still thinking about them now?!
At this point, he actually believed Hyuga Arin really was a bounty ninja.
"There… there are," the village chief said in a low voice. "I wasn't lying. Those bandits have been robbing travelers on the road."
The man shot the village chief an angry glare—stealing his chance to contribute.
Hyuga Arin nodded. "Then you're useless."
"Eh?!"
The man's eyes widened. Too late—he should've cursed him earlier. Now it was already over.
A blade flashed across his neck.
His head tumbled to the ground, eyes wide open in disbelief.
So decisive… You didn't even want to ask more?!
Those questions would never be spoken.
"Clean this up," Hyuga Arin said, patting the village chief on the shoulder.
The village chief was so frightened he nearly collapsed, but he forced himself to stay calm and quickly called people over to clear the ground.
Their crisis was finally over… right?
The village chief glanced suspiciously at Hyuga Arin.
"Find me a place to rest," Hyuga Arin said indifferently, acting as if he hadn't noticed the look. He'd only stopped by this village by coincidence.
The village chief didn't dare disobey and led him to an empty house.
"My lord, if you need anything, just tell me," the chief said humbly.
Those wandering ninja alone had been enough to ruin them.
Now this one was even worse—clearly not someone to mess with.
Hyuga Arin waved him away. He wasn't in the mood for small talk.
The village chief retreated and gently closed the door.
The night passed without incident.
…
Early the next morning, Hyuga Arin left the village.
After getting detailed information about the bandits from the village chief, he headed straight toward the mountain stronghold without stopping.
"If I still can't get the drops, I'll have to give up."
The bandit set could be used all the way to level thirty. Other sets were much harder to farm.
He quickened his pace. As he followed the main road, he noticed people hiding on both sides.
No need to think—it had to be the bandits.
"Byakugan!"
Once he activated the Byakugan, he could no longer maintain the Transformation Technique, reverting to his original appearance.
Veins bulged around his eyes, pupils turning pure white. Shuriken appeared between his fingers.
"Pulling the mobs!!"
He leapt high into the air and hurled shuriken downward at the bandits below.
"Shuriken · Heavy Fire Mode · Heavenly Maiden Scatters Flowers!"
Whoosh—whoosh!
A group of bandits looked up in confusion.
The scattered shuriken bloomed like flowers in the sky, covering them all as they rained down madly.
Like falling raindrops.
There was nowhere to dodge.
"Ahhhhhh—!!"
Screams rang out nonstop.
Soon, the noise faded, leaving only corpses strewn across the ground.
Hyuga Arin flipped in midair and landed.
"Ninja really do completely crush ordinary people."
More than ten notifications flashed before his eyes.
In total: [Experience +123][Silver +30 taels].
His eyes swept quickly over the corpses.
Ordinary people had extremely low drop rates, but out of more than ten, three items still dropped.
[Bandit Ring: +20 Chakra]
[Low-Grade Health Potion]
[Low-Grade Health Potion]
"Two health potions—finally some meds dropped."
Hyuga Arin took out a low-grade health potion. It was a light red liquid sealed in a glass test tube.
In the original game, health potions were commonly sold by merchants.
But in reality, the merchants who should've sold them didn't sell this stuff at all.
These were essential farming items.
There was also an energy potion, though none had dropped this time.
The drop rate wasn't low—but still not high either. All humanoid enemies had a chance to drop them.
"Still not enough farming," Hyuga Arin sighed regretfully. Even farming monsters wasn't free these days.
He stored the potions and locked onto the bandits' base.
His figure shot forward in a straight line, plunging into the mountains.
Wooden palisades had been set up throughout the forest, with scrawny bandits patrolling.
Hyuga Arin moved like a ghost through the woods. His Byakugan locked onto every bandit, and the shuriken in his hands became the scythe of death.
He harvested their lives at high speed.
[Experience +10][Silver +3 taels]
[Experience +8][Silver +5 taels]
Notifications flashed rapidly.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Bandits clutched their throats and collapsed. The shuriken flying through the forest were unbelievably fast—those bandits only heard the wind.
One companion after another fell.
"What's going on?! What the hell is happening?!"
Someone collapsed in terror. He watched as bodies dropped one by one. A companion fell right on top of him, blood splattering across his body.
Frozen in fear, he felt a sharp pain in his neck.
Then a black shadow swept past.
Darkness swallowed his vision.
Hyuga Arin bent down and picked up an item from a corpse.
[Bandit's Left Greave: Movement Speed +5]
"Another duplicate."
He continued racing uphill, relentlessly reaping bandit lives.
At last, his actions alerted the entire bandit camp.
"Enemy attack!!"
A shrill scream echoed throughout the mountain.
"Who is it?!"
The bandit leader charged down from above.
Chains were wrapped around his body, and in his hand was a heavy iron ball connected to those chains.
