Chapter 19 - Ignoring Zerin warning and increasing the health attribute

Bang! The club hit the ground sending dust and stones flying in every direction. The impact chilled Xavier's heart; if he was only one step late his head might have burst open like a watermelon.

Xavier used the Runeblade like a dagger, taking the opportunity to pierce the blade through the zombie's head, killing it in one strike.

Roar! The Fire Breathing Tiger also shifted toward Xavier; the monster roared and jumped in his direction.

So fast... Xavier gritted his teeth watching the monster come his way. He needed time; he at least needed to kill one hundred and eighty more zombies, but the monster was just not giving him enough time.

Realizing the urgency of his situation, Xavier moved as fast as possible, pushing his body to the extreme limits. His muscles burned as if they were on fire; the Warden Runeblade moved through the air producing a sound similar to a screeching banshee.

In an instant five zombie heads flew through the air, followed by a shower of blood.

But no matter how fast he moved, he was not faster than the Fire Breathing Tiger. In the blink of an eye, the tiger was upon him. The heat radiated from the monster's body instantly set his clothes on fire, scorching his skin.

Argh! Xavier instantly roared as incredible pain touched his entire being. The pain of being burned alive made him go mad; if not for the Death Will executioner aura keeping him in check, Xavier would have already lost it.

Skin ruptured and fresh crimson blood flowed outwards; however, before it could hit the ground, the heat instantly caused it to turn into steam.

Xavier gritted his teeth and tried to ignore the pain, but saying it was one thing, doing was another.

While the heat burned his body, he moved toward the next zombie closest to him.

But the injuries brought his speed to crawling slowly.

"At this rate, if I don't use my attributes, I will definitely die..."

Although Zerin had warned him, he had no choice but to ignore that warning now. Without wasting another moment, he used 5 of his unassigned attribute points and added them to Health, so that his body could hold for longer.

[Health 20>25]

Immediately the situation elevated slightly but the pain was not gone yet. Gritting his teeth, he increased the Health by five more points.

[Health 25>30]

The burning sensation almost completely vanished, even pain vanished. The burns that had marked appearance on his figure swiftly closed together as new cells quickly appeared, healing the wounds.

By now almost all the zombies present in the surrounding vicinity had been attracted by the commotion.

K's group moved through the forest looking at their surroundings in confusion. Out of nowhere, the number of enemies they were encountering suddenly reduced. K's eyebrows couldn't help but rise up.

One of the Natural Awakeners, a blonde female dressed in a loose hoodie, couldn't stop herself from asking.

"What is going on, boss?"

Hearing the question K could only shake his head; he himself had no idea about the situation.

Whatever the situation may be, it was for the best. At least now they could make their way to Fort John faster.

While thinking of all these things, Xavier's face flashed through his head. That black-haired boy, given that man's strength, he should have already reached Fort John by now. I must hurry.

In the distance an outline of tall stone walls started to become visible. Lucy's figure moved as if she was a robot, her eyes cold and emotionless. Just when there was no more than a hundred meters distance left between her and the wall, a voice came from behind the walls.

"Stop right there, your hands in the air! This is an official order. Disobey and we will open fire..."

Followed by those words, sounds of footsteps echoed on top of the wall. Soldiers carrying M7 rifles aimed at Lucy's head, waiting for official orders.

Lucy's steps paused for a brief moment, before she continued walking, ignoring the warning as if she didn't hear them at all.

Immediately a solemn voice echoed.

"Open fire!"

Grrr! Immediately following the words, the muzzles of multiple M7 rifles lit up. Bullets rained down on Lucy's figure.

Her body should have been blasted to bits, but no matter how many bullets struck her face or body they simply bounced off her figure, unable to penetrate at all.

Commotion immediately broke out in the military camp. "Commander, the modified bullets are useless!"

"What are your orders, Commander?"

Standing on top of the watchtower, Commander Jackson watched their bullets, which had easily torn through the zombies, do no harm to Lucy's figure.

He smashed the chair armrest in frustration, then in a solemn voice he commanded, "Someone go call Dr. Mike over here."

Unaware of all these developments, a game of cat and mouse was being played between the Fire Breathing Tiger and Xavier.

Xavier was running as fast as possible, killing as many zombies as possible in the shortest time, while being chased by the tiger who seemed hell-bent on killing him for some reason.

[Execution Streak - 25]

The execution streak continued to rise. Now the Death Will aura enveloping his figure gave him the chance to run around more freely. This was just how the class worked: the more he fought and killed, the stronger he became. If someone wanted to kill Xavier his best chance was to kill him in one strike, not give him the chance to warm up his Death Will aura.

Even though Xavier might be a non-evolved creature, if his Death Will aura was strong enough he might even rival First Sequence beings.

Roar! Fire Breathing Tiger roared in frustration, its attack missing its mark and striking the trunk of a lush green tree. Instantly the force caused the green wood to split and ignite.

Xavier jumped toward the head of another zombie, instantly slicing it with the help of Warden Runeblade.

[Ding! You have leveled up.]

[You have reached Level 11]

After killing more than a tens of zombies, Xavier finally leveled up. Leveling up wasn't as easy as it was before.

[Execution Streak - 26]

Not only did he level up, but the execution streak also went up.

He just needed to persist for a little longer.
