When Draconis rushed over with Servine and Dratini, he saw a group of Knights Order knights cautiously protecting Megan and Chris behind them.
In front of everyone stood six fierce and menacing figures.
Those were... Gyarados?
Draconis was slightly taken aback.
"Your Highness Draconis, please be careful!" Gerolt also arrived at that moment.
Draconis's gaze fell upon the pond, and sure enough, the Magikarp that had been there was gone.
Seeing this, combined with the six Gyarados in front of him, Draconis immediately understood what had happened.
"Put down your weapons," Draconis said.
"Your Highness?" The knights were slightly stunned, their faces filled with confusion.
"Didn't you notice that those monsters have no intention of attacking us?" Draconis reminded them.
Sure enough, everyone then belatedly realized something: the six terrifying monsters had not launched a single attack on them the entire time!
Draconis walked forward, looked at Megan, and asked, "What just happened?"
Megan: "Just now, a wild monster broke in and stole the honey that everyone had painstakingly brewed..."
A Combee flew over. It looked at the six Gyarados and excitedly said, "Bee!"
"You mean they chased that monster away?" Draconis asked.
The Combee nodded repeatedly.
"Huh?" This time, Megan was stunned.
Draconis smiled, then looked at Megan and said, "Megan, haven't you realized yet?"
"What?"
"Those six monsters are the ones you cared for all winter. You were worried they would freeze in winter, so you specifically made troughs for them and brought them into your home," Draconis slowly explained.
Hearing this, Megan's eyes immediately widened in disbelief.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
Megan silently counted the number of monsters in her mind, and she was instantly shocked.
"Could it be... could it be my little fish?" Megan looked at Draconis for confirmation.
"That's right, they are your little fish." Draconis nodded slightly. "If I'm not mistaken, they transformed like this just now to protect you. But don't worry, for monsters, this is a good thing; it means they have grown."
Megan stared at the scene before her in disbelief.
Those six tiny fish had grown so large... Although she still felt a little fear towards the menacing faces of these six Gyarados, once she thought of them as her own little fish, Megan was no longer afraid.
She mustered her courage and walked forward, to the edge of the pond.
She raised her head, looking up at these big guys.
And the Gyarados also lowered their heads, looking at Megan.
If one looked closely, one could even see a hint of hurt in the eyes of these Gyarados.
"Are... are you my little fish?" Megan asked.
"Roar!"
One Gyarados let out a rough Roar.
Seeing this, Megan gently placed her hand on one of the Gyarados's abdomen, then pressed her face against it.
"Thank you... Thank you for protecting me."
The Gyarados happily squinted their eyes.
They also wanted to thank Megan for taking such good care of them for so long.
They liked Megan! And they wanted to be with Megan forever!
"Alright, it's over now, everyone can go back!" Draconis looked at this scene with emotion, then said to the people around him.
"Yes!"
Soon, the people gathered at the pasture gradually left, leaving only Draconis and Gerolt.
Gerolt looked at the group of monsters and couldn't help but ask, "Your Highness Draconis... can all monsters undergo such a change?"
If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes today, no one would believe that those ordinary monsters in rivers and mud could transform into this appearance.
Draconis shook his head: "Perhaps. Monsters are very mysterious creatures. Since I've had close contact with them, I don't find anything strange about what happens to them."
Gerolt nodded and didn't ask further.
After a long while, Megan returned to Draconis's side.
She bowed deeply to Draconis, expressing her gratitude: "Thank you, Your Highness Draconis!"
"Thank me for what?" Draconis was a little surprised.
"Thank you for letting me meet my little fish!" Megan's voice was full of gratitude.
Seeing this, Draconis smiled. His gaze fell upon the group of Gyarados, and then he said, "Gyarados, their name is Gyarados."
"Gyarados..." Megan murmured, repeating the name, then said, "I'll remember it!"
"Take good care of them!" Draconis retracted his gaze. "Gyarados are very powerful monsters. With them around, you no longer have to worry about other dangerous monsters breaking into the pasture and causing destruction."
"Yes!" Megan said repeatedly.
Mothim had been chased away, and the Combee and Vespiquen in the beehive slowly woke up.
Although a lot of honey had been eaten by that Mothim, thankfully, with the Gyarados's intervention, most of the honey was saved.
Seeing that the matter was resolved, Draconis gave a few more careful instructions, then turned and left the pasture, returning to his home.
"Alright, that's enough for today. You two can continue to sleep!" Draconis said to Dratini and Servine.
The two Pokémon nodded gently, then lay back in their nests and closed their eyes to rest.
Draconis also got into bed, but just then, a crack suddenly appeared on the egg he had placed next to his pillow.
"Crack!"
The eggshell shattered in response, and a scorching aura diffused from within. The temperature of the entire room instantly began to rise.
Draconis was startled awake by this anomaly. He turned his head and saw a Pokémon covered in white fluff with a pair of blue eyes intently looking at him.
Draconis was slightly taken aback, then immediately realized.
Larvesta had hatched!
All the information about this Larvesta simultaneously appeared in Draconis's mind.
[Pokémon: Larvesta]
[Attribute: Fire, Bug]
[Gender: Male]
[Ability: Flame Body]
[Moves: Fiery Dance, Flame Charge, Bug Buzz, Flare Blitz, Fire Spin, Ember, String Shot, Flamethrower, Sunny Day]
[Friendship: 80]
[Pokémon Life History: In the 149th year of the kingdom calendar, Larvesta was born.]
"!!!"
When Draconis saw the moves this Larvesta had learned, he was instantly stunned in disbelief.
Fiery Dance, Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Sunny Day, Fire Spin... Why had this Larvesta mastered so many powerful moves right after hatching?
Draconis's brain raced.
Logically, this Larvesta should have hatched much earlier, but due to some unknown reason, its condition was unstable, and it had not hatched for a long time.
For this, its mother Volcarona had not hesitated to use her flame power to nurture it for thousands of years.
And before that Volcarona passed away, she also used Fiery Dance to pass on her essence of fire to this Larvesta, allowing it to inherit her power to some extent.
Could this be the reason?
