Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : A Villain’s First Move

Divine Phoenix City

In a certain courtyard, slightly secluded, sat a relatively handsome young man with dark crimson hair and a pair of ember-red eyes tinged with violet, staring at the sky with an expression of sheer boredom.

This person was none other than Feng Xichen, the 13th Prince of the Divine Phoenix Empire—a prince of merely average talent, eighteen years old, currently at the 10th level of the Sky Profound Realm.

If he were anyone else, he would have been considered extremely talented. However, he was a prince of the Divine Phoenix Empire, blessed with vast resources and dedicated instructors guiding his cultivation since childhood. Because of that, his talent was judged as merely mediocre, and the level of strength he had reached was due solely to the enormous resources he had consumed.

But this Xichen was not the original Xichen.

He was a transmigrator from Earth who had arrived in this world about a month ago and soon discovered that he was in the world of ATG, where Yun Che was the ultimate protagonist—someone who could kill whomever he wished and toy with fate itself, thanks to the existence of Jasmine by his side.

The original Xichen had been nothing more than a foolish prince, sent to verify Yun Che's bloodline after he revealed the Phoenix Flames. He was brutally beaten by Yun Che and later killed, while Yun Che went on to take Feng Xue'er as his wife.

"Stats…" Xichen muttered lazily as he stared at the black-and-purple screen that appeared out of thin air before him—something no one else could see.

✦ [Host: Feng Xichen]✦ [Identity: 13th Prince of the Divine Phoenix Empire]✦ [Bloodline: Phoenix]✦ [Cultivation: 10th Sky Profound Realm]✦ [Mystical Abilities:]  World Ode of the Phoenix (Uncompleted)✦ [Destiny Points: 00]✦ [Fortune Value: ??]✦ [System Shop: Closed]✦ [Warehouse: Six Paths Spiritual Profound Veins]

This system was his one and only cheat—the Fated Villain System. It allowed him to increase his strength and comprehension, and even purchase anything he desired, but only through Destiny Points. And those points could be obtained solely by reducing the fortune of a Favored Child of Heaven—someone like Yun Che.

"I suppose it's time to move…" Xichen muttered as he stood up. He needed to go see Feng Hengkong and inform him of his desire to leave Divine Phoenix City to train.

Hengkong was an extremely strict man with his children. Although he spoiled them generously, they could do very little without his permission—especially after the birth of Xue'er, after which he became even more severe and demanding.

Xue'er was his daughter from the woman he truly loved, not from a political marriage. Not only was she beautiful, but she possessed terrifying talent, having been taken by the Phoenix God to become a Complete Inheritor.

Because of this, Hengkong was obsessively protective of Xue'er. He became even more frightening after her birth, not even allowing her siblings to approach her. In his eyes, even a mere glance or touch warranted severe punishment.

Xichen walked through the palace corridors toward his father's office, ignoring the numerous bows of the servants along the way. Though it had felt strange at first, he had grown accustomed to it over the course of a full month.

Xichen had transmigrated into this world after Yun Che's wedding, which meant that the Ancestral God's consciousness had already finished adjusting the world to suit Yun Che. This was actually for the best—since it could no longer interfere directly.

Upon reaching Hengkong's office, Xichen bowed calmly, clasped his hands in front of him, and spoke in a sharp yet polite voice:

"Xichen seeks an audience with the Royal Father."

His calm, respectful—but not submissive—voice echoed through the silent space.

Some time passed without any response. Xichen did not move; from the memories he had inherited, he knew this was normal.

"Enter."

Suddenly, a deep and majestic voice rang out from behind the wooden doors. Xichen recognized it instantly—it belonged to Hengkong, the father of his current body.

Xichen had been in this world for a full month, yet he had not met any of his siblings, including his father. He had to admit—he was slightly nervous about this meeting.

He pushed the door open slowly and entered with steady steps into the spacious office hall, clad in luxurious red wood engraved with intertwined phoenix motifs. A faint scent of incense filled the air, adding an overwhelming sense of authority.

Feng Hengkong sat behind a massive desk made of celestial wood, his sharp, flame-like eyes fixed on the many documents scattered before him, not lifting his head at first. He appeared to be in his late forties; his broad body, shrouded in a phoenix-flame aura, made him look like a colossal being seated upon a blazing throne.

"What brings you here, Xichen?" he said calmly, yet with a sternness that made Xichen's heart pound despite his outward composure.

"This son wishes to leave the royal palace to train… beyond the boundaries of Divine Phoenix City," Xichen replied with measured confidence, his head slightly lowered in respect—but without submission.

Hengkong slowly raised his head, his glowing eyes locking onto his thirteenth son. His gaze lingered, probing… as if trying to tear into Xichen's heart to uncover his true motives.

"…Training?" Hengkong murmured, folding his arms. "What kind of training requires leaving the city?"

Xichen had anticipated this response and answered immediately:

"I feel that my growth has temporarily stagnated due to excessive comfort. I do not believe I can achieve another breakthrough unless I face the real world and temper myself in harsher environments."

Hengkong remained silent, then lightly tapped his finger against the desk.

"Very well. It has been a long time since you asked anything of me. However, you must take a guard with you. You are a prince, not a commoner."

Xichen nodded slowly, then said in an even tone:

"I agree, Royal Father… but may I choose who accompanies me?"

Hengkong's eyes narrowed slightly as he studied his son.

"…Who do you have in mind?"

"Elder Yin Me." Xichen answered without hesitation.

Yin Me was one of the youngest Elders of the Divine Phoenix Sect and one of the instructors responsible for Xichen. She had no ties to the other princes, making her the optimal choice—especially since Feng Ximing was extremely wary of them and would not hesitate to kill Xichen if he learned about the Phoenix Legacy.

Indeed, Xichen's true objective was the Phoenix Legacy. Through it, he could not only purify his bloodline, but also gain Destiny Points by intercepting Yun Che's destined opportunity.

Killing two birds with one stone… no, three birds with a single stone—since he could also earn the loyalty of the Phoenix Clan by freeing them from their ancestral curse.

Hengkong finally nodded and said:

"Approved. Elder Yin Me. However… even with protection from someone at the 3rd level of the Tyrant Profound Realm, you must not lower your guard outside."

Xichen nodded once more, this time bowing slightly deeper.

"This son fully understands and will not neglect his vigilance."

Hengkong gave a faint nod and gestured toward the door without another word, signaling the end of the audience. There was no warmth, no paternal affection—only the authority and severity befitting the ruler of an empire.

Xichen turned and left the office with steady steps. He did not care much about Hengkong's attitude toward him; he was not seeking a loving father. On the contrary, he was glad the other party held little interest in him—because that would allow him far greater freedom to act.
