The boy then said, "Come with me, and you'll get all the answers." Sophie refused, saying, "I don't want to come with you. You're a wizard; you'll cast a spell and turn me into a frog. I need to go home now."
The boy insisted, "You can't go home. You have to come with me," and he held her hand making the two of them disappear.
When Sophie found herself in a new place, she kept quiet. The boy introduced himself as Chris, and a girl named Luna was with him. Luna said hi, but Sophie was more concerned about her situation. "I didn't ask for your names. How did I get here? How did I disappear and appear here? What's happening to me? Am I crazy? I need to see my psychologist" Sophie said.
Chris replied, "There's nothing wrong with you, but you're not like other humans." Sophie asked, "How am I not human?"
Chris said, "A truck was about to hit you yet you paused the time, the whole world paused, how is that human."
Sophie said, "I'm hallucinating. I need help." Chris replied, "I know it's hard to take in, but you need to sit down and calm down. A lot of things have happened to you since the day you touched the book." Luna added, "But we don't know how it's possible that a book turned you into a witch.
Sophie asked, "How am I a witch? I am not evil?" Chris clarified, "You are not evil. We are civilized witches, and we help protect humans against evil witches. Yes, there are good witches and bad witches. Bad witches practice dark magic, and they create monsters."
Sophie said, "Can you guys reverse what made me a witch? I'm supposed to be a girl who becomes famous, and everyone adores me. I have money. I don't want to be saving people while leaving my money behind. I need to go back to my normal life. Why is this happening to me?"
Then she realized something "Wait…ehm Chris right, how did you know that l dreamt about touching a glowing book. That means it was not a dream, l really touched it and that gave me powers to see you guys."
She continued "You saw me touching the book and l didn't know. Which means you can be spying on me anytime and anywhere and even when l am nak.."
She was interrupted by Chris who said "We have a rule about personal privacy here so don't think l will be spying on you when you are naked." Sophie said "Pheww, but l still need to be human, how can l be a human?"
Luna replied, "We don't know, but we know that book chose you, Sophie." Sophie's expression showed her confusion and frustration.
Chris said "And you are still a human but also a witch, your people can still see you, just that you can see us now. It is like you broke the barrier keeping us between humans and us, magnificent."
Sophie said "There's nothing magnificent about this."
Suddenly, the three heard a voice coming in their direction.
Chris said "Oh no…" Luna completed "Alpha is coming, we need to go."
Sophie asked "Who is Alpha?" But Chris said "I'll tell you later but now you have to go, if he sees you like this, you will be in trouble, now go."
Sophie said "How? I can't disappear." Chris held her hand, and their eyes met and they
paused for 3 seconds staring at each other.
Chris thought "She really is so pretty" while Sophie thought "How can a witch be this handsome.. Gosh focus Sophie."
Chris and Sophie broke out from their state and disappeared both of them out of the place to where she was before, which is in front of the truck. Sophie said "Wow, time is still paused."
Chris said "Yes, your magic is really strong and l don't know how that is possible." Sophie said "Blah, blah, how do time break free."
Chris answered "Concentrate deeply and time will continue. But remember, as soon as you have free time, that truck will speed at high speed and is going to hit you. Are you sure you can dodge it? Why don't you just get out of the middle of the road and unpause time."
Sophie replied "If l do so, in everyone's eyes, they will think l disappeared, l have to stay."
