Wait up!
The person literally holding me defenseless right now is the Vampire queen?? Didn't he say she was supposed to be out of town or some shit.
"Dimitri." She spoke, the sharpness in her tone literally cutting through air. She meant business at this point, it was quite obvious.
I could only see the top of her hair from this angle…silver hair?…it's annoyingly familiar.
"Y..yes my queen." He responded in fear.
"What insolence is this?…didn't I make it clear that no vampire is supposed to hard a single human?" She spoke, her voice eerily calm.
"Yes…you did." He mummered.
"Then what nonsense is this?"
Next thing I heard was Dimitri groan in pain. She was definitely doing something to him, maybe punishment?
"I..forgive me my queen" he responded in pain.
But hello? What does she mean not hurt humans when she's literally strangling me. Zoe was still crying on the crown. Probably afraid to even move or make a sound. I still tried to loosen her grip but gosh!
As if she finally realized she was holding someone. She didn't even spare me a glance. No. She just threw me aside, hard! Like a useless bag of dirt! I hit the ground hard and bruised my head. That piece of -…ugh no no no.
"You'll be punished for each individual you have killed and for each individual your comrades killed" she spoke coldy.
Dimitri whimpered in defeat. Pathetic bastard.
I looked up and finally saw her figure properly, she still had her back towards me though, but I could properly make out her long straight silver hair…for a queen she didn't dress like one…she was just in baggy clothes…and that familiarity still tugged like a needle.
I sat up heavily and flicked my hand and my bronze rod came back to me and morphed into a bow and arrow. I aimed straight ahead and shot, no way is she gonna get away with strangling me half to death! Without even turning her head she caught the arrow and looked down at it, then she snapped it in two! How dare she.
"I'm not here for a fight, human." She spoke.
"Like I give a shit!" I spoke on impulse…that was stupid of me.
"H..how dare you!" Dimitri's face turned red in anger.
"Silence." The queen silenced him and he shut up immediately.
I turned my attention to Zoe
"Zoe…"
She looked up at me with tear filled eyes.
"Mia…you're bleeding…" she frowned…I even forgot I was injured.
"Mia?" The queen repeated my name as if in wonder.
"Yeah? What's it to you?" I scoffed. Don't blame me. I hate vampires down to the bone.
She finally turned around and looked at me directly. My breath caught in my throat as my eyes locked with those familiar scarlet orbs. No…this can't be happening. It can't be her, it shouldn't be her…it's impossible…no no no. No way…they just look alike…it shouldn't be her….it can't be her…no way….
"No way…" just then a bright smile came up on her pale face. "It really is you, Mia."
With a sudden lump in my throat, I whispered out the name that's been in my head for the past 11 years.
"Chanelle…?"
