Chapter 17 - HE CAN'T HIDE HIS DIRTY SECRET ANYMORE

"Have I made the biggest mistake of my life?" He stared intensely at the wooden two-door before him.

"If you were to be hurt, we would've done it by now," the receptionist's words rang in his ears, making perfect sense.

What if I'm walking straight into a trap?

His head was throbbing, but this was his only chance. Clenching his fists and blinking hard, he pushed the double doors open.

Silence.

An enormous, warmly lit room lay before him. A large bookshelf sat beside the night table, and cream-colored couches rested a short distance from the bed. The hotel room was strikingly similar to the apartment he shared with his girlfriend—until he took a step forward.

A rush of emotion whiplashed through him. He saw her lying on the bed, reading the book she had recently grown obsessed with.

His chest contracted. He couldn't move an inch.

"Hey, you're home," she said, sitting up and setting her book aside.

His mind completely stalled.

"Are you alright?" Her brow creased as she stood up, quickly walking over to him, taking his hand, and leading him to the bed.

He sat down, staring at her as if she were a ghost.

"Babe, you're scaring me," she said, placing a palm against his forehead to check for a fever. Her touch electrified him, pulling him back to reality. Without thinking, he seized her wrist.

He didn't realize how tightly he was holding her until she winced, jerking her hand away. "God, what is wrong with you?"

He flinched. "I'm—I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He reached out, gently stroking her palm, completely beside himself.

"What is wrong with you?"

He didn't hear her. She asked again, but he remained lost in his thoughts.

"Why are you acting like this?" She pulled at his arm, finally snapping him out of his daze.

His heartbeat spiked. He had already decided to tell her the truth, and this felt like the only moment he would ever get. "I—I need to tell you something..."

"What is it?" Her expression shifted from frustration to deep concern.

He forced himself to meet her eyes, his pulse racing. "I—I need you to listen carefully and not panic."

"What?" Her tone turned apprehensive.

"It's—it's about me... something I've been wanting to tell you for so long."

"What is it?"

He drew a sharp breath, blinking hard. "I—I prefer to yield control. I want to live under your command."

"What?"

As he expected, the concept caught her completely off guard. He pulled her hand into his lap, stumbling over his words as he tried to explain his desire to step back, to let her lead, to surrender completely to her guidance.

"Please don't leave me! I can try not to want this. We can just forget about it. I just... I needed to tell you. You don't have to accept this."

She caught his wrists, her grip firm and grounding. "Calm down. I'm not going anywhere."

"No, I'll fix it. Just don't leave me."

"Hey! Calm down. I'm not going anywhere," she repeated, tightening her grasp. "I'm. Not. Going. Anywhere. Just breathe."

"But—"

"Why are you making this such a big deal? It's not the end of the world. You could've told me this a while ago." She seemed entirely unfazed.

Was he panicking for no reason? Had he been hiding his truth in terror when she was entirely open to who he was?

"Now, stop panicking and tell me what you need," she said, her tone disarmingly natural.

"W—what?" His brows furrowed.

"Tell me how to do it. How to guide you. It's not that big of a deal. I might even like it, and if I don't, I'll still do it for you."

He was completely taken aback. It felt like a dream—a wonderful, impossible dream.

"No, we'll forget about it. I'll never bring this up," he stammered.

"Stop overthinking and just tell me."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Stop wasting time already." She looked at him with an encouraging, steady gaze.

"O—okay. Let me think."

His mind raced with absolute wonder. How could she be so calm, so accepting of his deepest truth?

"Well?" she prompted.

"Uh—yeah. You can—you can tell me to kneel." He braced himself for any look of hesitation or judgment, but there was none.

"Alright then... kneel for me."

His body tingled with a sudden rush of heat, a dizzying blend of nerves and profound relief.

"Y—yes. I'll kneel."

Overwhelmed by anticipation, he stood up and knelt on the floor, resting his hands on his thighs and lowering his head, his heart racing.

A soft chuckle broke the quiet. He squeezed his eyes shut, momentarily embarrassed, assuming she was laughing at how easily he surrendered.

Instead, she murmured, "You look so devoted like that."

His eyes snapped open, his heart skipping a beat. Did she actually like seeing him yield to her?

His breath hitched in his throat as a warm flush spread across his cheeks.

Noticing his reaction, she reached down, cupping his face with a gentle touch. "What? What is it?"

"N—nothing. I just—" His head was spinning. "I—I just liked hearing you say that."

Her expression shifted, a quiet, commanding confidence settling into her eyes. It was a look of natural authority he had never expected to see—and it completely captivated him.

"What's next?" she asked, her voice steady and deliberate.

"Acknowledge my effort when I follow your instructions," he whispered, staring up at her. "It validates my service and makes me want to obey even more..."

"Hmm," she hummed, slowly sliding her fingers into his hair.

His breathing seized for a second before melting into a profound sense of calm as she stroked his head.

The warmth of her touch dissolved his remaining defenses, leaving him entirely at peace in her presence. She tilted his chin up slightly, meeting his gaze with a powerful, magnetic intensity.

"You look completely at peace like this," she murmured with a knowing smile.

"Yes," he answered, his voice breathless and utterly devoted. "Because I'm yours."

She smiled softly, pulling him closer as the heavy, electric tension between them dissolved into absolute trust and quiet belonging.

Suddenly, the harsh sound of an alarm clock shattered the silence.

He bolted upright, blinking hard against the morning light as reality rushed back in.

The weight of the dream still lingered heavily on his chest. It took him a long moment to realize he was back in his own bedroom.

Turning his head slowly, he saw his girlfriend sleeping peacefully beside him, her back turned to him in quiet slumber. He took a deep, steadying breath and gently ran a hand through her hair.

Even if it was only a dream, he thought, a quiet resolve settling in his heart, at least I know the truth now.
