Chapter 23 - Parting For Strength-1

Purple

It was all that the Boss could see, as far as his eyesight stretched. Holding the boy in his rock grasp he looked at the sky.

The world had gone amethyst.

In the extreme silence of the forest. Word's which were too calm and cold for the situation flew in the air lightly.

In an instant, the Boss's eyes turned towards Zyrus.

It was all instinctive. His grasp loosened on the boy as he tried to distance himself from the black haired boy.

Yet, he couldn't. Hands were already gripping his both limbs tightly. Raising his head to look at the boy, the Boss froze.

In the majestic glow of world, a colour even more profound came to life. Opening his eyes Zyrus looked at the Boss. There was a small smile playing on his lips.

Then words slow yet heavy rolled out of his tongue.

"Let's play seriously, now shall we?" He said the tri colour blend in his eyes swirling with a feral intensity.

"Discharge."

A blinding blast of purple ran through the forest. As Zyrus unleashed his attack. It was like a electric circuit had been blast off however on a totally different scale.

A vast...large scale.

Zyrus had released, almost all of his mana into this attack. The attack was as simple as it was named. Discharge, it was spell that released a torrent of thunder in an concentrated blast.

As the searing blast was over, visages of two silhouettes came into view from the smoke curling from the proximity.

One was of a man, whose skin had gone black all over his body, with his one hand totally being charred like a black husk...useless. His body has been electrocuted to almost death.

Yet, the man was alive. Hate and anger burned fiercely in his eyes as he looked at the front having the intentions of doing nothing but kill.

While the other one, a teenage boy was also not in good shape after all. The attack he had used just now was also self harming in a ways.

Various deep burns, ran down his body as he looked at the man. The most harmful injuries he had was getting his internal organs electrocuted.

However, somehow his insides and mana circuit had survived...just barely. That's doesn't mean the pain wasn't there.

Right now, even standing was hell and yet Zyrus know that the guy ain't gonna go down this easily.

The fight wasn't over and to be honest right now, he didn't even wanted it to be over.

"You boy...what's your name?" The Boss asked in a thoroughly calm voice even though his eyes were filled with killing intent.

"Hm.." tilting his head slightly he thought for a moment..then he spoke lightly.

"Calix...that's my name."

"I see, Calix you know...you have rejected my offer to join...you have wasted my time so much, that even if i want i can't escape from the Duke now..although even if i did. Those guys would kill me anyway. So, as this would be our last battle.. prepare for it boy. I will kill -" The Boss couldn't finish himself, as he was forced to jump and dodged.

A moment later, on the blackened crater a shape of slash formed cutting thorough the ground. Looking up from there, he searched for the Calix as the boy was gone.

"Why are you rambling so much, now? Did the lightning made your brain dumb?" Calix said, a sword in his hands now.

"Haha...You are...correct. Fine, boy let's fight." Blackish-red fire wrapped around the man's remaining fist like black gauntlets as Calix also passed his mana through the weapon enhancing it durability.

As the sky cleared and the rays of moonlight fell on the two. They moved... leaping in a streak of black the Boss was the faster one atleast.

Though, not by much now. Calix could easily see his fist coming towards himself.

Sidestepping towards right, from where he stood he swung his sword downwards aiming straight for the remaining limb of the man.

However, the Boss's anticipating that twisted his body and kicked the flat of the sword changing it's trajectory saving his fist.

However he wasn't finished, spinning on his heel he turned as punched straight towards Calix's ribs. Though the boy was also not standing still.

As his sword was forced to change it's direction. He bent down with his back towards to the ground. Feeling the pain ran through, his whole body he didn't try to move much.

His body was in a very delicate state right now, he could feel it. He dodged the fist however just as the fist phased above him it turned and moved backwards.

Calix flinched as he saw the fist, instantly words came out of his mouth.

"Slash." A slash moved straight towards the fist.

As the dark heat and sharpness collided, heat was the winner. No matter what ranks are there for a reason.

It's already a miracle, that Calix could right now fight a guy who rank above him. It was a feat worth praising.

The slash was dissipated in the blank air. However, the collision had already given Calix enough time too move away.

Pushing himself off from the ground. He instantly brought his sword towards the Boss's neck. Shivers ran down the Boss's spines as he dodged the blow barely...yet he wasn't able to escape unscathed.

A deep gash found his shoulder, as Calix's sword cut through it with visible ease. The Boss backed away for a moment then lunged at him again.

Calix was ready, ducking he looked as the fist passed above his head. Electricity wrapped around legs...as he shot towards the boss like a torpedo.

In a single call, he was inches away from the Boss throat. The Boss tensed as he could feel the sharp blade of his sword closing on his neck however at the last moment he instinctively raised his hands defend.

A trail of red flew in the air, as an arm tore through the body. Not, having enough demonic energy remaining in his body after the Boss had protected himself from the previous blast.

His body was defenless.

"Aaaahhh." A shout tore through him however it was soon cut off with a much colder voice.

"Too loud. Slash."

Boss eye's bulged as he felt a slash moving towards him more accurately...his heart. In a desperate attempt, he gathered whatever energy remained in his body.

An orb of demonic fire coescelated into the mouth of the Boss, as he fired a beam of heat from his mouth.

The beam somehow met the slash at stalemate. Yet, in the next moment a cold sensation ran into his body.

"That was a simple feint, you know...i just learned it hours ago." Calix said coldly as he lodged the steel sword deep into the mouth and throat of the Boss.

The edge of the blade coming out from the another side.

The adversary was dead.

The Transmigrator has won...

Looking at his side, he saw Anaerah and some other people standing frozen in shock. Slowly, he moved towards the girl.

"Hello, there princess." He said and with that the boy fell into unconsciousness.
