Chapter 3 - Dimensional Door

As the three items were gifted to Konstantin, he suddenly felt their presence resting deep inside of him. Somewhere that he felt he could only access through his status.

Before summoning any of them, he first read through their descriptions.

Dimensional Door:

A magical door that creates a gateway between two universal locations. Once placed, the owner is granted control over details.

It was clear that the Dimensional Door was the most necessary item for Konstantin to start his business. After all, there was currently no way for him to leave, or have others enter his pocket dimension.

Language Converter Pill:

A consumable pill that permanently grants the consumer the ability to automatically convert languages, allowing others to understand him, and him to understand others seamlessly.

Though not as impressive as the Dimensional Door, Konstantin recognised that this was just as important for his practices.

After all, who knew what languages were spoken in other universes?

Without wasting any time, he called upon the pill by simply willing it to appear in his hand. In one go, he swallowed it and felt no difference in his body.

Petrifying Revolver:

A revolver crafted by the God of Horror. Its bullets are infinite and can cause any mortal or immortal being to be filled with the strong desire to flee their current location. This only works if the shooter uses the revolver within their pocket dimension, and the effects of the revolver wear off after one week passes within the victim's world.

The Petrifying revolver was the first item to put fear into Konstantin.

He was usually a calm man, but this gift suggested that there was a chance that he could face danger, even within his pocket dimension. Not only that, but if someone were to try to attack him, he would have to be fast enough to draw his weapon in time, and accurate enough to land his shot.

He summoned the revolver into the office. It was matte black with glowing red runes down the 8" barrel. It also came with a holster, which he swiftly equipped around his waist, giving him the look of a cowboy.

I'll have to spend time practising this weapon. However, it's not as though therapy doesn't carry its own dangers on earth... I'll just have to trust in my abilities enough to avoid angering my clients.

...

After going over the descriptions of the different items, Konstantin realised that with his current knowledge, there was not much else that he would be able to learn without starting his Dimensional Business.

The status seemed to notice this too, as he was suddenly given his first quest.

New Quest: Satisfy your first client!

A simple, vague quest.

A therapist's job was not to satisfy a client. Satisfaction was in fact, best avoided in certain cases.

Therapy often meant facing difficult truths and emotions, which would rarely feel satisfying in the moment. However, after dealing with the difficult parts, a client could often be left satisfied with the results.

If the being that brought me here favours me, then surely I'll be given a client that's easy to deal with...

Konstantin made his way outside and stood on the road leading to his beautiful therapist's office.

The road seemed to lead to nowhere, eventually trailing off past the green field and fading away into the white clouds.

It was at the end of this road that he decided to summon his Dimensional Door.

It first appeared in front of him as a golden mist, before eventually becoming something solid, resembling a simple wooden door.

As the door appeared in front of him, connected to nothing and standing impossibly, nothing seemed to change.

It was only when Konstantin opened the door and was met with a black void, that he was given access to its features.

They appeared in his mind, similar to the way his status did.

Dimensional Door Activated:

Synchronising to Therapist Title...

Scanning Suitable Planets...

As Konstantin waited, he clarified something in his mind.

The Dimensional door had connected to his status, which likely meant it would connect him to worlds where his expertise was most needed.

He also assumed that the door would be placed closest to where he was needed. If so, then it was clear that whatever being had gifted him this pocket dimension was truly on his side, at least to some extent.

3 Most Suitable Planets Found!

The options were presented to him, each of which gave him the slightest bit of information about them.

Option 1 – Planet Cotenius

World Stability: High

Primary Client: The Childish Scholar

Risk Level: Low

Option 2 – Planet Oda

World Stability: Medium Stability

Primary Client: The Monster In Chains

Risk Level: Medium

Option 3 — Planet Xyuc

World Stability: High

Primary Client: The Failing Soldier

Risk Level: Low

Konstantin carefully read over the options, and as he did, the voice returned momentarily.

"Please note that Risk Level will increase the reward given to you during quests completed on that planet."

It was as he had assumed. Still, he knew there was absolutely no chance that he was selecting the option with a Medium Risk Level. Not whilst he was still so weak and lacking in knowledge on the greater world.

That left him with two options, Planet Cotenius and Planet Xyuc.

There wasn't much to go off, other than the titles given to the clients.

The Childish Scholar, and The Failing Soldier.

If Konstantin's main goal was to gather more information on as many planets as he could, then the scholar would be the clear choice. The man would be extremely knowledgeable in at least one field related to his planet, or perhaps even more.

However, the door referred to the man as childish. A childish man was not easy to satisfy, without telling lies to them. Telling lies went against his code as a Therapist.

So Konstantin chose the third option: Planet Xyuc.

Once selected, a constant humming sound came from the door, but everything inside the door remained black as the night sky.

Konstantin swiftly returned to his Therapist's Office and sat down on the sofa, his hand resting on his Petrifying Revolver at all times.

Five minutes later, the voice returned.

"Orinex Sylas-9 from Planet Xyuc has entered your world."
