Chapter 2 - New Office

The voice gave no sign of being pleased or disappointed with Konstantin's answer.

Instead, it swiftly moved on to continue its explanation.

"First, you must familiarise yourself with your status. Your status is a way for you to view your progression through the Tower of Enhancement. To view this, you must be familiar with the concept, which is why you have been unable to see this previously. Now, all you must do is will the status into your vision."

The Tower of Enhancement?

As Konstantin questioned the words, a strange image popped up in his mind.

Name: Konstantin Dragov

Title: Therapist

Konstantin glanced over the information; however, none of it made any sense to him.

It was clear that it resembled some sort of menu screen; however, it seemed to be based around The Tower of Enhancement - a concept completely unknown to him.

Luckily, the voice began to explain.

"The Tower of Enhancement is a building that exists within the spiritual body of every living being across existence. It has multiple floors, and when climbed, the owner is granted more power. The further you climb through this tower, the more your status will expand."

"Am I making sense so far?"

Konstantin replied. "You are." Afterwards, he waited for the voice to continue, keeping his questions to himself.

"The Tower of Enhancement is connected to your Title, which is a role that you are most associated with. To climb through the tower, you must draw the enhancement essence produced from a variety of actions performed that are related to your title, and place them on the floor that you currently have access to within the Tower."

It sounded complicated, but Konstantin was a smart man. He was able to swiftly come to an understanding of the way the strange power worked.

In simple terms, the more therapy I perform, the stronger I become.

"Now we will move on to your Therapist's Office. In a moment, I will take you through the available designs. Please order me to stop when there is one that you are happy with."

Suddenly, the cloudy realm below Konstantin started to shift. A white fog covered everything before eventually fading away, and revealing a building that Konstantin was familiar with.

Although it sat on the clouds, instead of the snowy streets of Volgograd, it was clearly a one-to-one replica of his run-down Therapist's Office.

There was no way he would choose this design! Part of himself believed that the building was the reason for his lack of clients.

After ten seconds, the building faded away and another one was revealed.

This building was nothing like anything Konstantin had ever seen in Russia. Instead, it resembled a Japanese-style house that might be owned by a samurai.

It looked cosy, but Konstantin knew that it didn't suit him.

He let the voice show him several more buildings, until finally he found one that suited him most.

It was a small building, mainly made from white marble, but with a glass wall giving a view of a room inside. The room was a comfortable waiting lounge, with a red carpet and several sofas. In front of the sofas was a table with bowls filled with fruit snacks.

He was also given sight of the room next door: the Therapy Office. There was a desk made from redwood with a stack of bookshelves behind it. In front of the desk, placed on the soft red carpet, were two sofas facing towards each other. One for the therapist, and the other for the patient.

Konstantin found the room beautiful. If he were the patient of a client, he would certainly feel safe in such a room, which was of most importance during therapy.

There was one more room in the building that was hidden from the public eye. A bedroom that resembled those that could be found only in the most expensive hotels on earth.

"This building is good." He decided.

A faint hum sounded through the air as the area around the house was crafted. It was a simple grass field with a beautifully crafted road leading to the entrance of the building.

"Welcome to your new home, the Dimensional Therapist Office. You will now be given a physical body and placed within the building. Once you are there, I will only appear to provide information when necessary. Otherwise, your status will explain whatever basic information you need to know."

This time, the voice did not give Konstantin the chance to ask any questions.

He felt himself falling asleep once again, and this time when he woke up, he felt the strange sensation of being alive again.

He found himself sitting in the chair of the Therapy Room. It smelt of wood and flowery fragrances, and sunlight from an unknown source seemed to shine through the glass window, creating a beautiful scene.

Konstantin looked down at himself to find that he was dressed in the same smart clothes he had been wearing on Earth, giving him the look of a therapist.

Before he could start taking everything in, his status flooded him with new information.

It was clear that at that moment, he was being filled with the basic attributes given to him, due to owning the Therapist Title. These were not usable techniques, but rather passive attributes that he now owned.

Perfect Memory:

Grants the ability to perfectly remember any information told to you by a client.

Basic Emotional Sense:

Grants the ability to feel individual emotions of a client, as well as their intensity.

Soothing Presence:

Grants the user a faint aura that slightly calms down the minds of others.

Konstantin blinked.

These were skills that therapists usually had to train for years to learn, and still would never be able to achieve them at such a level. Yet he had just been gifted them in a matter of seconds!

Before he could examine this further, he was presented with his first "Technique"

Technique Acquired: Emotional Wound Exploration

Can identify the primary cause for the strongest emotion that a client is currently feeling, and view the scene as a flashback.

More than any of the passive attributes, Konstantin was thrown into disbelief at the technique.

It was a therapist's job to spend session after session, trying their best to find the cause of a client's most severe problems. With this technique, those efforts could almost be completely avoided.

Konstantin started to grow desperate to treat his first patient; however, before he could, he had to go over the different items he had suddenly been gifted too.

3 Items Acquired!

- Dimensional Door

- Language Converter Pill

- Petrifying Revolver
