Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: Disappearance

"There are so many high-rise buildings here, I feel like I'm suffocating, how can there be so many buildings," Ash said helplessly.

Raj rubbed his leg and said, "My legs are about to break from all this walking, it's too difficult, don't we have a bicycle or something."

"Exactly, this really looks like a concrete jungle," Misty said with a gloomy expression.

"Where are we now, Brock," Ash asked as he looked at Brock checking the map.

"Uh, let me see, we're in the Yo Yo Yo Wo District," Brock said as he frowned at the map.

"Yo Yo Yo Wo District, what kind of strange place is that," Raj, Ash, and Misty asked in unison.

Suddenly, Raj saw a middle-aged woman running toward him.

The woman hugged Raj tightly and pulled him into her arms before saying anxiously, "Xiao Yi, Xiao Yi, where did you run off to, do you know how worried your mother has been."

Raj's head ended up in an awkward position and he finally twisted sideways to breathe. "Hello, my name is Raj, not the Xiao Yi you're talking about," Raj said awkwardly.

"Hello, I'm his friend Misty," Misty suddenly stepped forward and made a V sign with her hand.

"Nobody asked for your name," Ash said as he pressed down on Misty's shoulder.

"Oh right haha," Misty said as she awkwardly stepped back.

"Ah, I'm sorry, it's just that you look so much like Xiao Yi," the middle-aged woman said apologetically.

"What exactly happened," Misty asked curiously.

The group sat down with the woman on a park bench and listened carefully to her explanation.

"It's like this, my son Xiao Yi suddenly disappeared, it's been three days now and there's still no news."

"I've searched everywhere but I still can't find him," the woman said as she touched her face sadly.

"So your son is missing," Raj said seriously.

"He wouldn't have left to become a Pokémon Trainer, would he," Ash guessed.

"That child really loves Pokémon, but he never said he wanted to become a Trainer."

"Maybe your child is almost home by now," Misty said hopefully.

The woman shook her head. "Actually, it's not just my child who has gone missing."

"Huh," Raj and the others said in surprise.

The woman pointed toward a wall in the park covered with posters.

"Look over there."

"Posters," Ash asked in confusion.

"Those are photos of missing children," the woman said with a sigh.

"So many people, there must be at least a dozen of them," Raj said as he frowned.

"This city seems very dangerous," Ash said as he looked at the posters.

"Then I need to be careful, because I'm just too cute," Misty said seriously.

Raj, Ash, and Brock all looked at her speechlessly.

"What's with those expressions," Misty said angrily.

"Ahaha you're very cute you're very cute," Ash said as he stroked Pikachu's head.

"Pikachu."

"It's strange that all the missing children are cute and it keeps happening without stopping, it's truly incomprehensible."

Nearby, Officer Jenny held a new missing child poster and muttered in confusion, "Where should I paste this one."

She looked at the wall, which was already almost completely covered with posters.

"Excuse me, are you a cousin or distant relative of the Jenny we've met before," Ash ran over and asked.

"I'm a distant relative of theirs, the connection is very far," Officer Jenny replied.

"This is the most beautiful Officer Jenny I've seen so far," Brock said as his face started turning red again.

"She's exactly the same as the ones we've met before," Misty said as she rolled her eyes.

"With so many children missing you must be working very hard, although my strength is limited please allow me to help with the investigation, let us join hands and take action together," Brock said as he rushed forward and grabbed Officer Jenny's hand eagerly.

"What just don't get in my way," Officer Jenny said as she shook off Brock's hand.

At that moment, Raj looked at the woman still sitting on the stone bench with a worried expression.

He suddenly remembered his own mother from childhood memories in this body.

He remembered when he had run off to play and got lost in the forest, and when his mother found him she had the exact same worried expression.

Beside him, Ash muttered quietly, "My mom must be very worried about me."

After saying that, he adjusted his hat.

"Ash how about it, should we help them solve this case," Raj asked.

"Alright let our Great Detective Raj duo solve this difficult case," Ash said as he high-fived Raj and began shadowboxing excitedly.

Raj rubbed his forehead and wondered if teaming up with Ash had really been a good idea.

After that, the group followed Officer Jenny to learn more about the situation.

"It's like this, everyone started disappearing about three days ago and it has continued since then," Officer Jenny explained as they walked.

"Three days ago," Raj repeated thoughtfully.

"So do the missing children have any common characteristics," Raj asked.

"Right that's it what's the common point among the missing children," Ash said as he suddenly pointed forward in realization.

"No none at all, we haven't found any clues yet," Officer Jenny said with a troubled expression.

"That's why I think the children must know something," Raj said thoughtfully.

"I see so we need to go to the Pokémon Center to ask questions," Brock said as he looked at the Pokémon Center ahead.

Officer Jenny crouched down and showed a photo to two little boys. "Have you seen this child."

"I don't know."

"I played with him a long time ago," the two little boys replied.

"What about the last few days," Officer Jenny asked gently.

"I don't know I haven't seen him."

Suddenly, Brock rushed forward with a serious expression and crouched down beside them. "Little brothers listen carefully you must answer honestly whatever you know you must tell the pretty big sister."

"Yes," the two little boys replied nervously.

"And do you like pretty big sisters," Brock added with a mischievous expression.

"Hey can you not interfere with my work," Officer Jenny said as she looked at Brock speechlessly.

At that moment, Raj and Ash walked toward Nurse Joy, preparing to ask if she had any clues about the missing children.
