He looked up automatically, a smile already forming on his face before he realized what he was doing.
Stop it.
He forced his attention back to the spreadsheet, but the smile lingered.
When had that happened? When had Kael's laugh become something that made him smile reflexively?
His phone buzzed.
KAEL: Lunch today? There's a new sushi place Marcus won't shut up about.
Asher's fingers hovered over the keyboard.
He should say no. Should maintain boundaries. Should stop spending every waking moment with Kael when it wasn't about the twins.
ASHER: Can't. Back-to-back meetings until 3.
KAEL: Dinner then? I'll pick up Thai on the way home.
