The two of us stared at each other for what felt like minutes.
That was until the man in front of me finally lowered his flintlock pistol and stashed it away inside his coat.
"I apologize. It seems like I've mistaken you for a demon."
He's a little too tactful.
"Are you a noble?"
"I'm not. I'm a mercenary."
A mercenary who speaks like a noble, that's rare.
But odds are, he's not really a mercenary.
I used my Mystic Eyes to look into his coat.
To my surprise, the inner part of his coat was filled with all sorts of long-range weapons, close-range weapons, grenades, and even some random utility items.
He really was decked out.
"You should probably go back to your own cabin. It's a little stuffy in here."
"Mmm... I would love to, but I have to ask. What made you think I was a demon?"
His eyes narrowed.
"All demons smell like death. I thought you were one too, but it looks like you've just killed a lot of people instead."
I let out a chuckle.
