Lucille blinked, thinking whether she had seen the man wrongly. Then, she realized something was indeed not quite right about him.
Despite standing, his body twitched unnaturally as if all his limbs jerked in uneven spasms, including his fingers. He tilted his head in a jerky motion, mouth trembling. His lips were torn, dry and smeared with something dark.
Was he convulsing?
"Sir?" Lucille called uncertainly, hesitant to approach the man. "Are you alright? Do you need me to call an ambulance?"
The man shouted, "GRRRRHHH!"
Her eyes widened, breath hitching. The hairs on her arms prickled, as every instinct in her screamed to run.
When the man lunged forward, his knees bent awkwardly. His movement was slow and clumsy, but sudden and weird enough to make her heart leap into her throat.
"Ah—!"
