Chapter 1 - Mute

Heaven POV

"Bitch, Do you remember when we planned our weddings together? When we promised we'd marry handsome Alphas and be sisters forever?"

I heard Sofia's bitter sweet voice from down the hallway. I don't even bother looking up at her cause I already knew how her beautiful face turns ugly whenever she glared at me. I noticed my fingers were bleeding so much that my blood stained the brush handle I had been using to scrub the floor for the past three hours, my knees were sour and my mouth tasted bitter from the lack of food and water.

"Do you remember? Or has being mute made you forget how to think too?"

Hearing those words, my hand that was scrubbing the floor suddenly stopped in it's tracks but I forced it to continue scrubbing.

I remembered the last time I spoke a word, it was the day my parent was executed in front of the entire pack six years ago, I had begged the Luna and the then Alpha that my father was innocent but they didn't believe me. I had also begged that they kill me alongside my parent but they refused.

Till this day, I wonder why I wasn't executed too. Maybe they wanted to keep me as a reminder of what what my father had done. But even now, I still wished they had ended my meaningless life.

Sofia suddenly knelt beside me. And her scent hit my nose. She smelt like the exact same perfume we used to steal from her mothers dresser to spray the flowers in the garden when we were still kids. Oh! how I missed those days.

"whenever I'm alone with the four brothers in their chambers, do you know what they call you?"She moved closer until she was a few inch away from my ears as she whispered

"The mute bitch. They make bets on who will break you first when they finally decide to use you."

My stomach turned cold . My hands shook violently.

"Oh, don't look so surprised ." Sofia laughed, a sound like shattered glass. "Did you think they saw you as anything else? You're less than human to them, Heaven. You're a toy. A thing to use and discard. And when they're done with you" She grabbed my chin, forcing me to look at her. Her blue eyes were cold and bright. "they'll throw you away like the garbage you are. Just like your traitor father."

I bit my lips so hard, I wanted to yell that my father wasn't a traitor, but no word could come out.

"I brought you something." Her voice suddenly turned sweet as she released my face. "A gift, for old times' sake."

I looked up just in time to see her foot connect with my bucket. Dirty water splashed across the floor and all over me, soaking through my thin servant's dress. The cold hit instantly as I shivered.

Sofia threw her head back and laughed. "Oops. How clumsy of me."She grabbed my hair and pulled my head back. "Clean it up. When you're done, come to the sewing room. You're going to make me the most beautiful dress for the Ascension Ball. The dress I'll wear when I seduce the Quadruplets and become their chosen mate."

She shoved me into the puddle "Oh, and do try not to stink up the silk with your traitor's stench. Bitch! ."

Then she walked away swaying her toned hips.

I took a deep breath, picked up the scrub with my shaky hands and continued cleaning

Damian POV

"The Ascension Ball preparations are complete, Alpha."

I heard my Beta say as he stood in front of my desk with a small bow and his eye glanced to the floor. I don't bother looking up at him, I just nodded and continued with what was on the table. As the Leader of the Fullmoon pack, I had a lot of shit to deal with.

"The guest list?" I asked, not looking up.

"Three hundred confirmed attendees, including representatives from all major packs. The Silvermoon Alpha sends his regards and…"

"I don't care about regards." I cut him off sharply, finally raising my eyes to meet his. "Security detail?"

"Doubled at the gate. The perimeter is secure"

I was about to respond when a loud disturbing noise rang out from the hall way.

I rose from my desk irritated. We were only three days away from the biggest night of our lives, the night we'd officially take over as Alphas of the Full Moon Pack and everything was already turning into a mess.

I stepped into the corridor and saw Damon holding back one of the servants, a young omega who looked terrified. A broken vase laid on the floor at his feet, water and white roses scattered everywhere.

"You clumsy little idiot," Damon growled, his hand tightening around the omega's arm hard enough to leave bruises. "Do you know how much this cost? This was imported from the Eastern Packs."

"I-I'm s-sorry, Alpha. P-please forgive me ."The omega's eyes trembled as tears streamed down her face. Her body trembling with fear like a shaking leaf .

"Damon, let her go." I commanded

My brother's jaw tightened, but he obeyed. He shoved the omega away roughly enough that she stumbled and nearly fell. "She should be punished. Father would not have tolerated this kind of mistake."

"lock her up in the dungeon for twenty days," I announced. "Without food or water. Be grateful I'm in a generous mood." I added looking at the scared servant.

The omega's face was suddenly drained of blood, and she bowed deeply with her whole body still trembling "Yes, Alp-ha. Th-ank you, Alpha."

As the guards led the servant away , I saw Desmond leaning against the library doorway with his arms folded and his annoying smirk curved on his face.

"You're getting soft, brother. Father would've made it fifty days and thrown in ten strokes of the cane."

"Father isn't Alpha anymore," I reminded him coldly, straightening my cuffs. "And I run this pack my way."

"Including pampering servants who can't do their jobs?"

Damon's said with disgust. But didn't bother responding. My brothers had always believed that leadership meant constant aggression.

Dylan appeared in a corner, "That bitch is in the east wing," he said quietly . "She's been cleaning for hours. Sofia dumped dirty water on her again."

We knew who he was talking about without a name ever being mentioned. The traitor's daughter. The child of the man who had tried to destroy our pack, he plotted to assassinate our father and take control. We should have killed her along with her traitorous parents, but Mother had insisted on keeping her alive as a servant, to remind the pack of the family that betrayed us.

"Has she been given her assignments for the ball?" I asked.

"Sofia has her sewing her dress," Desmond replied, deepening his cruel smirk."I heard her crying in the sewing room last night. She's been at it for eighteen hours straight without sleep."

i felt strange hearing how she was treated but I pushed the feeling away.

"Make sure she knows she's to stay out of sight during the ceremony," I ordered. "The last thing we need is her father's stench ruining our Ascension."

It was important that she knew her place
