Facing Garna's question, Bardock merely glanced at him with a playful expression, as if he were insignificant, and completely ignored him.
Paragus, standing nearby, could no longer hold back. His eyes widened in anger as he shouted, "Garna! You've become quite bold. How dare you speak to His Majesty like that!"
Cold sweat instantly formed on Garna's forehead. His body trembled as he quickly dropped to one knee.
"Your Majesty, I misspoke just now. Please punish me."
However, his action made the other Saiyans in the hall look at him suspiciously.
Among the Saiyans, there was only the salute with a clenched fist across the chest. There had never been a custom of kneeling.
Bardock slowly sat down on the throne, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"We'll deal with your matter later. For now, return to your position."
Garna felt as though he had just been pardoned from execution. He let out a breath of relief, stood up, and retreated into the crowd.
Toma suddenly cursed angrily, "Did Broly smash your head earlier, or did you join the Anti-Saiyan Alliance? Get over here!"
Only then did everyone notice that Garna had retreated to the side where the Anti-Saiyan Alliance representatives were standing.
Embarrassed, Garna scratched the back of his head.
"I got too excited and stood in the wrong place."
He quickly moved to the correct side this time.
Bardock watched the farce with a snort.
"Alright, the show is over. Please begin your performance."
He leaned back against the throne's armrest and casually gestured with his hand.
"Go ahead."
A tall alien stepped forward.
"Saiyan Emperor, I am Du'aluo of Planet Kanassa, the representative of the Anti-Saiyan Alliance for this negotiation."
"The people beside me are my bodyguards: Jeice, Burter, Recoome, and Guldo. The one lying on the ground is Ginyu."
"We represent the fifty-eight life planets of the Anti-Saiyan Alliance and have come to negotiate the division of power in the North Galaxy."
Du'aluo spoke at length.
"Saiyan Emperor, the current situation in the North Galaxy is extremely complex. Various forces are balancing one another."
"We hope to reach a peaceful and rational distribution of resources and clearly define spheres of influence to avoid unnecessary war and casualties."
"After all, war only brings destruction and suffering. It is not the best option for either of us."
Before he could finish his speech, Bardock impatiently waved his hand.
"Enough. This Emperor doesn't have time for your nonsense."
"The Saiyans only accept unconditional surrender."
"As long as you surrender and pay tribute on time, the Saiyan Empire will grant you protection."
From the moment Bardock saw the Ginyu Force, he had already understood their plan.
They were here for a decapitation operation.
The key to this plan was Captain Ginyu.
In the original events Bardock remembered, Ginyu possessed the ability to swap bodies. When combined with Guldo's time-stop ability, it became nearly impossible to stop.
Guldo could freeze time.
Then Ginyu could swap bodies.
It was a guaranteed assassination.
When Bardock first entered the throne hall and saw the purple-skinned alien lying on the ground, he immediately recognized Ginyu.
That was why he stopped Garna earlier.
Du'aluo remained calm after hearing Bardock's refusal.
"Saiyan Emperor, please allow us a little time to consider your offer."
Bardock answered casually.
"You have three minutes."
"If you exceed that time, I will consider it a declaration of war."
Du'aluo nodded and returned to his group.
Bardock then looked down toward Garna.
"Now, let's discuss your problem."
"Why did you try to kill Ginyu earlier?"
His sharp gaze locked onto Garna.
Garna stepped forward angrily.
"Your Majesty, that bastard kept insulting the Saiyan race and the Imperial Family with filthy language. I lost my temper and attacked him."
Bardock listened quietly.
Then he nodded slowly.
"Your explanation is reasonable."
"But I would still like to hear Ginyu's version of the story."
He turned toward Paragus.
"Paragus, give Ginyu a Senzu Bean."
Paragus nodded and took a Senzu Bean from his pocket before walking toward Ginyu.
But the enemy group still didn't react.
Bardock frowned slightly.
Did I misjudge the situation?
If I'm wrong, how do I explain Garna's strange behavior?
Bardock added calmly, "I should mention that a Senzu Bean instantly restores all injuries."
He was testing them one last time.
Suddenly—
Garna shouted loudly, "Act!"
Paragus froze in confusion. "Act on what?"
But Bardock had already moved.
In an instant, he appeared in front of Garna and grabbed him by the neck.
Just as Bardock was about to twist it—
Time suddenly stopped.
Everything in the throne hall froze.
Only one person could move.
Guldo.
Guldo stared in shock at Bardock.
He reacted in less than half a second…
This Bardock is terrifying.
But then Guldo laughed smugly.
Even so, he's still trapped by my time-stop ability.
Just as Guldo was about to walk over and humiliate Bardock—
Bardock moved.
Guldo's eyes widened in terror.
He collapsed onto the ground, his face turning pale.
Bardock glared at him coldly.
"Don't release your ability, or I'll kill you."
Even Bardock himself didn't know why he could move within the frozen time.
But he knew one thing.
If he had reacted a second slower, everything he had built since arriving in this world would have been destroyed.
Guldo nodded frantically.
His ability required him to hold his breath.
If he breathed, time would immediately resume.
Bardock grabbed Ginyu's body and dragged it in front of the throne, using it as a shield.
"That's enough," Bardock said.
Guldo's face was already turning red from holding his breath.
The moment he heard Bardock's command, he gasped for air.
Time began flowing again.
At that exact moment—
Garna shouted, "Swap!"
A transparent soul floated out of Garna's body.
It wasn't purple-skinned.
Clearly, the body Ginyu had been using earlier wasn't his original one.
Ginyu returned to his true body and looked at Guldo in surprise.
"Guldo, you—"
Before he could finish speaking—
BOOM!
Bardock fired an energy blast.
Ginyu's body was instantly vaporized, turning into dust that scattered across the throne hall.
Jeice shouted excitedly, "Well done, Captain! From now on, the Captain is the Saiyan Emperor!"
Burter nodded. "Guldo, nice job."
Recoome remained silent.
Guldo trembled nervously. "I… I was only doing my duty."
Paragus finally realized what had happened.
His face twisted with rage.
"You weaklings actually dared to plot against the Saiyan Empire?!"
