Chapter 25 - Capital's Awakened.

One hour later—

Murph,Carlessa, Harith, and Lena stood with Lock at the Monetre train station, unlike normal trains on earth, in this world, trains are still fueled by steam and coal, despite the architectural houses that looked to be similar to medieval than victorian, this world's technology had advanced more than what anyone had expected, trains exists, yet people still use carriage as the main transportation.

Not because cars were expensive, but because it hasn't been produced yet.

This 'half-assed' advancement was all due to the influence of two persons in the past that managed to invent all of these machinery, but before their research was able to get further, the two brothers passed away due to some complications in their body.

In the end, no one was able to inherit their research, and the world's technological advancement became stagnant yet again.

Scholars tried to imitate the two brother's way of thinking, but the only thing they could invent was small things like the grandfather clock and typewriter.

Murph waited with his colleagues, in the dead of the night where people were sleeping, a train in the distance quickly made its way to the station, accompanied with the loud noises from the gears and steams that it exude, the train soon stoppep, and from within the wagon, multiple figures dressed in neat clothes and coat walked out of the train to greet Murph.

PSSHH!!

Step!

Step!

Step!

"Good night, sir." Murph said, he and the others beside him slightly bowed at the gentlemen infront of him.

"Good night, Murph. We heard the news, let's get going as soon as possible." A stern-looking man with a hat and black scarf greeted Murph back.

"Understood, Mr. Cell." Murph said.

Whilst he and Mr. Cell was exchanging some serious conversation, an old man who seems to be in his 60 or 70's suddenly appeared from behind Mr. Cell, his hair slightly gray like Heimfher's hair color, he smiled at Murph's friends and waved.

"Nice to meet you all!, you remember me right!?" The old man cheerfully said.

When the old man revealed his face, Carlessa, along with Harith and Lena had the corner of their mouth twitched as if they were uncomfortable at the sight of that old man.

"N- nice to meet you, Sir. Carmen." Harith replied while scratching the back of his head.

"Tch, why the hell are you here again you pervert geezer.." Carlessa scoffed and clicked her tongue with while her brows were furrowed.

Meanwhile Lena only gave Carmen a deep stare, she seems to not care with his presence as much as Carlessa.

"Yahaha, you're so cold huh Carlessa.. Don't you ever heard the saying respect your elders?" Carmen said, he jokingly frowned his lips and laughed.

Everyone could tell that Carmen was someone that does anything he likes without thinking of the consequences, he was known in the capital as a troublemaker despite his old age, the only reason why anyone still wanted to be near him was because his power is something that shouldn't be joked about.

'I still can't believe this old geezer is almost an elite awakened..' Harith said to himself.

A few minutes later, both Murph's division, Lock, and the awakened from the capital under Mr. Cell's leader began to move out of the station, the train had already left and now it was their turn.

There were 5 people in Mr. Cell's group, and 4 within Murph's, adding Lock made the total group to be 10.

"Should we go to the bureau?" Lock said, his head turned towards Mr. Cell to see his reaction.

"No need, we should start the tracking for those cult members as soon as possible, is there any items that belongs to those people from the cult that you've managed to steal?" Mr. Cell asked.

For the first 3 seconds there was no response, everyone was thinking and reminiscing their memories, until finally, Murph answered.

"Unfortunately, we weren't able to find anything that could belong to them, we found a room in the sewer system under this city that looks to be a ritual room, and there was a symbol that was drawn with blood on the walls there– It's the Dead Deity Order symbol." He said.

Mr. Cell nodded and looked at his colleagues beside him, they all also nodded, except Carmen who kept smirking and trying to invite Carlessa and Harith into a meaningless conversation.

"Show us that place."

"Understood." Murph immediately began running forward, leading everyone as they changed their direction, they moved silently under the moonlight for approximately 15 minutes until they reached the now sealed hole that was previously the hole that leads Murph and his division down into the sewer.

.

.

5 Minutes later—

Creakk!!

A door within the sewer under the city was opened, the same room that Murph found to be a ritual room for the Dead Deity Order.

He and Mr. Cell's group entered the room calmly, they searched every nook and cranny inside, pushing bookshelves and analyzing the magic circle that was drawn on the floor.

Then they turned their attention to the blood-drawn symbol on the wall, still in the same place as when Heimfher found it.

"The blood hasn't dried up completely, you can still scrape some of it off." Mr. Cell said, he gently grazed his finger at the red lines within the symbol, sticking some of the blood onto his skin.

"It's new.. That means it hasn't been long since they left this place.."

"That's what i concluded aswell." Murph responded out of nowhere.

Suddenly, a man beside Mr. Cell who wore similar clothes but with a gold chains wrapped up around his arms interrupted their talks.

"They're most likely moving to a different hiding spot, who knows what they're up to in this city." He said.

"Who's that?" Harith whispered to Carlessa, he was curious with the eccentric man.

"That's.. Im not quite sure." Carlessa replied.

Just then, Mr. Cell turned towards the man in gold chains and asked him.

"Umbra, what are the Dead Deity Order's goal?"

Umbra responded with a solemn voice.

"I don't know? Maybe it had something to do with their god that they worshipped?"

Mr. Cell nodded at Umbra's answer and agreed, however he had one thing to say.

"That's right.. And do you know what they want to do with their god? They want that god to descend."

"Descend.. You mean like, manifesting into the mortal world?" Umbra replied, his eyes momentarily moved towards Mr. Cell's eyes.

And then, Carmen decided that it was his turn to interrupt the conversation.

"That means an abyssal god would appear in this world! And oh gosh what if they cause mass destruction?! That'd be unfortunate isn't it? If only there's someone that could stop them." He said with a playful tone.

After hearing everyone talking with each other, a man that has yet to speak in Mr. Cell's group suddenly said his first words.

"But that should require an enormous material and sacrifice, and from what we've gathered, it doesn't seem like we're dealing with a lot of the Dead Deity Order members.. This room is too small, unless they're scattered all around Monetre."

Mr. Cell hummed at the man, he gave it a thought before he answered.

"Weiss— Hmm, i guess that's true, if they're really preparing for a god descend, i agree that it should require a huge amount of material, specifically sacrifice since that's what the God of Death likes the most." Mr. Cell replied, he was a little startled to see Weiss joining their conversation.

"The Dead Deity Order has been around for around 2 years now, and based on their activity that were recorded, they haven't showed any sign of doing something grand— If they wanted to do a ritual for a god descend, that'd need an enormous amount of sacrifice.. And they won't be able to kill that many people without mobilizing all of their members—

"Which means, if there's really only a few members of them in this city, it's likely that they're not here to cause massive destruction.. This magic circle could be just a ritual for creating the chimera."

While Mr. Cell and his groups was focusin on assumption, Murph and Lock was keeping a close by with the outside, the sewer system was dark just as he expected, and without Duskiell, Heimfher, or Umbra's fire magic, it's hard to see what's infront.

A few minutes passed, and eventually Mr. Cell and everyone else came out of the room, now that they've found out that the Dead Deity Order's possible reason for staying in Monetre, they had a moment if relief as it wasn't as bad as they thought.

"We can't track their location huh.. There's nothing in that room." Carmen said, he looked disappointed that Weiss wasn't able to use his detection magic.

"What should we do now?" Murph asked Mr. Cell, he wanted to hear what the people from the capital had to say about this matter.

"Let's go deeper into the sewer, they may have other hideout place." Mr. Cell said.

"And also.. Another chimera."
