In the endless starry sky, Captain Marvel was still being flung backward through space.
Suddenly, a blinding light appeared in front of her.
The light was so intense that it nearly blinded her.
After a long moment, when the glare finally faded, she realized that the place where Ice Crystal Star had once existed was now completely empty.
What… what just happened?!
Could it be that Ice Crystal Star… had been destroyed?
The mere thought filled her with an indescribable mix of emotions.
She regretted her own weakness, resented her inability to do anything, hated Thanos's cruelty—and yet, deep down, felt relieved that she had survived.
Amid these tangled emotions, there was also fear.
She had thought Thanos came to conquer the planet.
Instead, he had destroyed it.
That realization reminded her of the horrifying rumors she had once heard about him—stories of eating children every meal, bathing in fresh blood, killing for pleasure every hour.
She had once believed those were exaggerated tales.
Now she felt they didn't even begin to describe how evil he truly was.
Perhaps even the most wicked being in the universe couldn't compare to him.
If she could, she wanted nothing more than to clench her fist and smash that purple face—to kill him.
That overwhelming hatred caused her energy to stir.
Slowly, her power began to surge, repairing her shattered body.
This…
She didn't understand what was happening, but it was clearly a good thing.
Without hesitation, she seized the opportunity to focus on healing.
…
Time passed.
More than a month had gone by since Thanos destroyed Ice Crystal Star and returned to Taro.
At this moment, he was training inside the temple's gravity chamber.
The gravity had been adjusted to two thousand times normal.
After obtaining the Star Absorption Technique and the Mind Stone, his strength had surged again. He had already fully adapted to two thousand times gravity.
"Knock, knock…"
A knock sounded at the door.
Moments later, the door opened, and Proxima Midnight—still clad in her tight leather suit—appeared at the entrance.
"My lord, General Corvus Glaive has returned. He has brought important news."
Corvus Glaive was Proxima Midnight's lover, which was why she had been sent to deliver the message.
Hearing this, Thanos lowered the Tyrant's Blade in his hand.
"Deep Blue, shut down the gravity system."
"Yes, Master."
As the gravity faded, Proxima Midnight stepped inside and knelt on one knee.
Thanos rested the Tyrant's Blade and asked calmly, "What news?"
Proxima Midnight lowered her head respectfully."General Corvus Glaive reports that he has discovered an unclaimed wormhole. On the other side lies the Milky Way—the galaxy you've been searching for over four hundred years."
Thanos narrowed his eyes.
So it had finally begun.
The Milky Way—elusive for centuries—had suddenly appeared.
He was not the type to wait passively.
If Blue Star could be eliminated early, he would never allow it time to grow.
More than four hundred years ago, after conquering several star systems, he had already dispatched forces to gather intelligence on the Milky Way and Asgard.
They found countless rumors of Asgard—but never its coordinates.
They didn't even know where the Milky Way was.
The universe was simply too vast.
So vast that even light-years felt insignificant.
Because of this, wormholes—both natural and artificial—were essential for intergalactic travel.
The distance between galaxies was measured in tens of thousands of light-years. Even advanced spaceships rarely traveled between galaxies directly.
After thinking for a moment, Thanos said into the air, "Deep Blue, summon Corvus Glaive."
"Yes, Master."
Then he looked down at Proxima Midnight and added, "You also need to train harder."
His five subordinates were strong by universal standards.
But that would not be enough against the abnormal, overpowered beings that awaited them in the future.
Hearing this, Proxima Midnight stiffened.
She preferred battle and bloodshed to tedious cultivation.
But memories of her recent defeat—and near death—flashed through her mind.
She nodded.
"Yes."
Thanos had Deep Blue reactivate the two-thousand-times gravity and resumed his training.
Watching this, Proxima Midnight could only activate the dark energy within her body to keep herself from being crushed.
She cultivated dark energy—not destructive energy like Thanos.
As time passed, her strength steadily drained, and her body began to tremble.
Two thousand times gravity was simply too much.
Being able to stand was already a miracle—forget fighting.
Seeing this, Thanos had no choice but to let her leave and instructed her to intensify her training.
Three days later.
The door to the gravity chamber opened once more.
A man walked in.
He radiated a chilling aura of death, wore pitch-black armor, and carried a long battle blade.
It was Corvus Glaive—the leader of the Black Order.
The weapon in his hand was the Deathblade, the vessel of his soul.
The moment he entered the gravity chamber, Corvus Glaive staggered.
But deathly energy surged through his body, forcibly stabilizing him.
He stepped forward and knelt on one knee before Thanos.
"General Corvus Glaive greets you, my lord."
Thanos halted his training and looked down at his subordinate.
Pale as a corpse. Thin. Almost skeletal.
Like a walking dead man.
He remembered that in the comics, this man was not entirely loyal and would betray him in times of weakness.
But Thanos did not judge loyalty based on stories from movies or comics.
At most, he would remain cautious.
After all, in the cinematic universe, Corvus Glaive fought the Avengers to the death without retreat.
"I heard from Proxima Midnight that you found an unclaimed wormhole," Thanos said calmly."And that the Milky Way lies beyond it. Is that correct?"
Corvus Glaive nodded."Yes, my lord. And I also saved someone."
"Oh?" Thanos raised an eyebrow. "You even saved someone? Tell me what happened."
Corvus Glaive lowered his head and began recounting everything in detail.
