Chapter 52 - Chapter 52 – A Dangerous Request

The three of them stood, ready to leave.

Just as they reached the door, PK paused.

"Sir," he said evenly, "may I have a word with you alone?"

Joshua studied him for a moment, then nodded.

"Everyone else—wait outside."

The room emptied.

The door closed with a soft, final click.

For a few seconds, neither of them spoke.

Joshua leaned back slightly.

"You asked for privacy. Speak."

PK didn't waste time.

"Why did you give me all of that?" he asked. "The authority. The squad. The trust."

The General was silent for a long while. Then he spoke slowly.

"Because I've spent decades reading people," Joshua said. "And once in a while, someone appears who doesn't ask for power—but knows how to use it."

A faint smile crossed PK's face.

Joshua raised an eyebrow.

"So. What did you actually want to say?"

PK's expression turned serious.

"I need access," he said. "To something… unconventional."

Joshua didn't interrupt.

"There are limits to what can be done openly," PK continued. "Especially when the stakes are high. Extremely high. I need to place a few bets—large ones. Just two. And not through ordinary channels."

The General's eyes sharpened.

"You're talking about territory where rules don't exist," Joshua said. "And where consequences can be permanent."

"I know," PK replied calmly. "That's why I came to you."

Joshua studied him carefully.

"Are you certain?" he asked. "And do you even have the capital?"

PK answered without hesitation.

"I don't need it upfront. I only need entry. I'll handle the rest."

There was no arrogance in his voice—only certainty.

Joshua exhaled slowly.

"You're either reckless," he said, "or frighteningly confident."

PK said nothing.

Another long pause.

Finally, Joshua nodded once.

"I'll open the door," he said. "That's all. What you do beyond that is your responsibility. Don't draw attention. Don't leave traces."

PK inclined his head slightly.

"That's enough."

Joshua looked at him closely.

"For your sake," the General added, "I hope you're right."

PK smiled—but said nothing more.

He turned and left the room.

Outside, Lana and Luna were already waiting.

As PK stepped back into the corridor, the twins fell into step beside him.

Neither asked questions.

They could tell—

Whatever PK had just set in motion was big.

Dangerous.

And irreversible.

The car door closed behind them.

And the game quietly moved to its next level.
