Chapter 440 - Target

Can a human stop a steel behemoth weighing tens of tons with bare hands?

The answer is: absolutely impossible!

At least, under the current world's understanding, it is impossible for humans to achieve this.

And so, very quickly, the crowd, originally under the threat of death, erupted in a cheer, though no one knew who started it.

"Holy crap, Superman!"

"Wife, come and see God!"

"Oh my god, has the spiritual energy revived?"

The cacophony of miscellaneous noises, combined with the gazes of these humans, who seemed to revere him as a god, gave Maximus a headache for the first time.

He was surrounded by these "Short" humans, asking him for autographs, and even asking if he was from "Kryptonian"?

Maximus appeared at a loss, even somewhat flustered.

If these were enemies, he could easily break out using his rich experience and powerful strength, but the problem was… these were all humans!

Moreover, it was no exaggeration to say that even on the Holy Terra of the past, no one had purer bloodlines than 'them'.

Now, Maximus was beginning to believe what Emrys said, that this was the 'Terra' of tens of thousands of years ago.

If this wasn't the Holy Terra of tens of thousands of years ago, how could there be so many humans with pure bloodlines?

Looking at Maximus' pleading gaze, Emrys truly wanted to laugh at the sight of this warrior, who could tear apart tigers and leopards, and had slaughter countless alien and sorcerous tyrants, now completely at a loss, surrounded by the enthusiastic crowd.

He even saw an elderly man, trembling, forcefully shove the freshly bought soy milk and fried dough sticks into Maximus' arms.

"Thank you, child," the old man's wrinkled hands held Maximus' thick fingers like a baby's, his face full of gratitude.

"Eat quickly, child, eat more."

"Thank you, uncle!"

"Wow, uncle, you're so strong, what did you eat to grow up like that?"

"uncle, uncle, your arm is even thicker than mine!"

Maximus was going numb.

He, the Thunder Warrior, whose fierce reputation was well-known, was now surrounded by these enthusiastic humans, unable to move, like water.

There were even a few children grasping his fingers, comparing which was thicker with their own heads.

"uncle!"

A child hugged Maximus' calf.

Maximus lowered his head, trying to appear as stern as possible, and gazed expressionlessly at the tiny child.

The child sniffled and timidly held out a card.

"This is my most precious thing; I'm giving it to you. Thank you for saving my uncle."

His most precious thing?

Maximus was stunned, seeing that the card depicted a red and blue 'alien'.

But unlike other alien, this alien looked… very handsome, even possessing an extraordinary 'divinity' and 'compassion'.

"uncle, this is Ultraman Tiga!" The little cute child stretched on his tiptoes, his chubby little hand clutching the glowing card, trying to hand it to the burly giant before him, who was like a mountain.

"Thank you for saving us, you must be an Ultraman too!"

Maximus' mouth twitched. What kind of alien was Ultraman?

But seeing the gratitude and hope shimmering in the cute child's bright eyes, he silently suppressed his anger, carefully took the glowing card into his hand, and uttered two words in a deep voice.

"Thank you."

But he would soon regret accepting it.

Because, seeing this, the people around them all began to express their gratitude, stuffing various things into his arms.

Things like steamed buns, fried dough sticks, flowers, children's cherished stickers, cards, and so on... The humans here were very simple; they used their insignificant possessions to express their gratitude for his life-saving grace.

Maximus considered himself brave; he feared not even the Warp daemons, but now... he was afraid.

These humans were simply too enthusiastic!

So much so that he couldn't stop them.

Emrys, who had been watching the show for a long time, smiled and shook his head, then used mental suggestion to hypnotize these enthusiastic humans.

Otherwise, if the law enforcement officers arrived later, they would be even more unable to leave.

After the hypnotized crowd dispersed, Maximus stood holding many things, a hint of confusion on his face.

"Let's go," Emrys reminded him, finally waking him up.

Maximus looked down at the things in his arms, took a deep breath, and muffled.

"Okay."

He didn't throw these things away; instead, he held them dearly in his arms.

Even those cheap stickers with cartoon patterns, he carefully put into his pocket, as if afraid of losing them.

"Do you like them very much?" Emrys asked.

"In the past, the Emperor told us that we must unify Terra; only through unity can humanity shine again," Maximus said softly, his eyes lowered.

"But honestly, we didn't understand what that meant, nor did we understand the significance of unity."

"And now?"

Emrys looked at him and asked with a light smile.

"Still don't know."

Maximus shook his head, but a hint of tenderness appeared in his eyes. He looked at the very small cartoon stickers and murmured.

"But I seem to vaguely understand a little what the Emperor's unity was."

At the moment he was thanked by these humans, looking into their grateful eyes, his hardened heart seemed to be touched.

Looking around, there were towering steel buildings, and smiles filled everyone's faces.

Wasn't this the peace they had sought all their lives?

"What do you think of what just happened?"

Emrys asked.

Maximus, having regained his composure, immediately discarded his jumbled emotions.

"It was not an accident."

"I think so too…" Emrys sighed, his gaze falling on the out-of-control train.

"But my psionic perception and investigative field never found any traces."

"Some things are not discovered by perception or investigation."

Maximus shook his head and said coldly.

"You rely too much on these things. You must know… even the best technology will fail sometimes. The only thing you can rely on is your own intuition."

"Is this the style of a 'Thunder Warrior'?"

Emrys couldn't help but smile bitterly. To judge by intuition, wasn't that a bit too… absurd?

However, considering the 'poor' equipment of the Thunder Warriors, these guys always charged with power armor on their bodies, crushing enemies with speed and strength. If their intuition was abnormal… it didn't seem to be a problem.

"There's one more thing."

Maximus frowned deeply and said in a low voice.

"I always have a feeling of being watched, and when this train went out of control, I could clearly feel that its target was us."

Hearing this, Emrys fell into thought, stroking his chin.

"This is interesting… 2

They had just entered this world, and before they even understood the plot or the world, they had already been found by the person hidden behind the scenes?
