Chapter 366 - Try

Ding~

The bell hanging at the bar's entrance chimed, and Emrys and Zabriel stepped into the bar together.

The interior was very dim because, in the Underhive, electricity was an extremely important resource, and only a few yellowed light bulbs illuminated the bar's interior.

Several discarded platforms, moved from a factory, served as tables, still covered in a lot of oil stains, so the entire room was filled with the smell of gasoline.

Hmm, it was a smell that the oil-men liked.

Looking deeper, a person who was clearly deliberately disguising himself, intentionally hunching his body to appear old, covered by a loose black robe to conceal his muscular physique, stood at the bar counter.

The other party also noticed Emrys entering the bar, as well as the Space Marine following him!

Zabriel didn't intentionally hide his power armor; although the legion's insignia had been removed and the color changed, that subtle, genetic sense of familiarity still made the boss pause for a moment.

Emrys saw all of his reactions but didn't expose him. Instead, he casually walked to the bar counter and sat down directly.

"What kind of drinks do you have here?"

"Sorry, outsiders are not welcome here."

The boss, deliberately hunched over and covered by an unusually loose black robe, yet still unable to conceal his muscular physique, kept his gaze on Zabriel for half a second, then said in a hoarse voice.

"Please leave."

"How do you know we're outsiders?"

Emrys remained motionless, looking up at the boss, who was completely covered in a black robe and deliberately hiding his physique.

"Maybe, we're actually 'family' after all?"

The other party was clearly taken aback, stunned for a few seconds, then said impatiently and coldly.

"Sir I don't have time to joke with you. If you insist on staying here, then you can stay by yourself. I have things to do."

With that, he turned and left directly.

But after only a few steps, he heard a faint voice drifting from behind him.

"Is that so? Since you're unwilling to entertain us, then I'll just have to go find Asmodai. Surely—he wouldn't refuse this offer, would he?"

Clang!!!

Intense sparks erupted before their eyes!

The entire bar counter was almost shattered by the immense force, and the water in the wine cabinet behind it also broke, the liquid raining down!

And at this moment, in front of Emrys' gaze, a horizontal dagger intersected with another dagger, biting together like teeth, producing a harsh sound and flying sparks.

Zabriel parried the opponent's attack with his dagger, but he was already cursing inwardly, staring at the opponent with a mix of helplessness and anger, yet speaking to Emrys.

"Lord, do you really have to pick that name?!"

As a former Fallen Angel, he knew too well the power of the name Asmodai, grandmaster of Repentance of the Dark Angels Inner Circle!

Every Fallen Angel who heard that name trembled; he was practically a nightmare.

But Emrys?

Knowing the destructive power of that name, he deliberately chose to utter it specifically to a Fallen Angel—wasn't that just pure suicide?

The 'boss', whose attack was parried, then launched a flying kick, but Zabriel was equally quick, simultaneously raising his knee and directly interrupting the opponent's movement.

Seeing that it wouldn't work, the boss drew his blade, dropped his shoulder and elbow, and his left fist was poised, aimed directly at Emrys.

Zabriel also threw a punch.

The two were evenly matched, but the boss' eyes were filled with ferocity, and he no longer bothered to disguise himself. He directly shed his black robe, revealing the ancient dark green power armor underneath, holding his dagger in a forward grip, and pounced like a tiger or leopard!

Zabriel shielded Emrys behind him, also holding his dagger in a forward grip, clashing with the boss. The two exchanged blows, the glint of their blades almost turning into a shadow, each collision erupting in a fierce clang!

But the result was that their moves were almost identical, and even their intentions were the same, clearly taught by the same Sir, unable to break each other's moves!

A moment later, the boss voluntarily retreated a step.

Zabriel didn't pursue, but instead stood guard in front of Emrys, watching him warily.

"...Who exactly are you?"

The boss stared intently at Zabriel, his voice tinged with an incomprehensible complexity.

"Your swordsmanship, your combat techniques, they are all Caliban combat skills. Who exactly are you?!"

"Zabriel, formerly of the Knights of the Three Keys."

Zabriel took a deep breath, removed his helmet, and looked at the other party with complex eyes.

"And you?"

"" The boss was silent for a long time, slowly lowered his dagger, and said softly, as if in self-mockery.

"Avkar of the Blade Angels."

After he spoke his name, Zabriel was clearly stunned for a long time, then his voice trembled slightly, as if in disbelief.

"It's, it's really you?"

At first, he hadn't recognized him, but upon closer inspection, he realized that this person, whose hair had turned white and showed all the signs of old age, was actually his former mentor!

"You've grown old too, Zabriel—"

Avkar's eyes held a hint of relief, but more than that, an ineffable emotion.

"I never imagined that after ten millennia, we would meet again in such a way."

"You two know each other?"

Emrys' untimely interruption broke the mood brewing between them.

"Yes, lord." Zabriel said softly.

"Avkar—he was once my mentor, and also the Chapter Master of the Blade Angels, similar to a Chapter Master today."

"You have quite a high status, don't you?"

Emrys looked at Avkar in surprise.

"Zabriel, who is he?" Avkar frowned slightly, noting Zabriel's address for this human, which made him somewhat angry. How could a former Dark Angel, even now bearing the stigma of a Fallen Angel, call a human 'lord'?!

"Uh"

Zabriel didn't know how to explain and could only look at Emrys for help.

"He is my subordinate now."

Emrys tapped the table and said calmly.

"I came to you this time hoping you would join."

"Get out."

Avkar's gaze turned cold.

Join a human's subordinate? Dream on!

"I suggest you listen to me first."

Emrys still maintained a smile.

But Avkar was not so good-tempered.

"Horok, Kai!"

From the shadows, two figures flashed like ghosts, one blocking Zabriel, and the other placing a dagger at Emrys' throat!

"If it weren't for his sake—the moment you stepped into this room, your head would have already fallen!" Avkar's tone was full of hostility.

"Now, disappear from our sight immediately!"

"I advise you all to calm down."

Even with a dagger at his throat, the blade even pressing a bloody mark into his skin, Emrys remained unmoved, as if uncaring, a smile on his lips.

"Killing me is easy, but outside the door, an entire company of Astra Militarum is stationed."

He had just used his psychic powers to shield the sounds in the room, which was why the fight between the two hadn't attracted the attention of the Astra Militarum.

"Astra Militarum? Hmph."

Avkar was clearly disdainful, saying coldly.

"Ignorant mortal, let alone a company of Astra Militarum, even ten more regiments wouldn't be able to stop us!"

"I believe that."

Emrys nodded calmly, and in the other party's murderous gaze, he said faintly.

"Ten regiments of Astra Militarum can't stop you, but what about the Lion?"

At this remark, including Avkar, the Fallen Angels in the bar almost had their brains overload and smoke.

What the hell?!

That old man disappeared ten thousand years ago, what's the use of bringing up the Lion now!

"Don't you dare use the Lion to pressure us!"

Avkar's eyes were gloomy, and he said coldly.

"Besides, who doesn't know that he's already dead? Are you still trying to deceive us with such lies?!"

However, under their gaze, Emrys casually took out the power sword that the Lion had given him for protection from his personal space and directly plunged it into the ground.

"Come on, I'll give you ten times the courage, if you don't believe it, come up and try?"

Looking at that power sword, with its ornate hilt adorned with the emblem of a lion embraced by wings, and the cool glow of its blade, it exuded a familiar aura.

Avkar and the others were stunned.

No, they just said it casually, and you really brought out the Lion?!

Avkar felt his lips dry and stiffly turned his head to Zabriel, trying to find the correct answer in the eyes of his former disciple.

"Uh, due to some special reasons, I am no longer a Fallen Angel."

Zabriel couldn't help but straighten his back, coughed twice, unable to hide his pride.

"Allow me to formally introduce myself, I am now the first Angel of Absolution of the Sons of the Forest Chapter, personally pardoned by the Lion."

Avkar's eyes widened.

The other Fallen Angels around them also showed jealous, shocked, dagger-like gazes, their eyes seemingly saying: You bastard, why didn't you tell us about this good thing sooner?!
