Chapter 346 - Crystal Maze

What's going on?!

Encountering a Warp storm right after setting off, and then being attacked by a 'Tzeentch daemon' that suddenly appeared, was already extremely strange.

But the huge shadow that swept past the outside of the battleship undoubtedly left Emrys dumbfounded for a few seconds.

However, he quickly made a judgment.

"Immediately seal off the invaded area," Emrys ordered, using the communication array to inform the ship's guard.

"Maintain the Geller Field with full force, and let the Silver Templars and the Avengers deal with the daemons that have already invaded the ship."

But bad news followed.

Before Emrys could ponder what kind of divine being the huge shadow sweeping past the battleship was, the battleship suddenly vibrated violently!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The 'Tzeentch daemons' that suddenly appeared outside shrieked and launched an attack on them.

Moreover, a terrifying scream originating from the depths of the soul directly penetrated the outer Geller Field, piercing through the entire battleship and echoing between the steel bulkheads!

In the battleship's communication channel, the mockery and derision of the Chaos God, mixed with thousands of languages, came through, causing the astropath responsible for the battleship's heading to immediately cover her head and let out a terrifying and mournful wail!

The brains of several Astropaths responsible for navigation visibly swelled, then their facial muscles twisted and deformed, and finally, with a 'pop,' they exploded!

Viscous white and Red, like dye, splattered across the control panel!

And without the Astropaths' navigation, the battleship was completely lost in this treacherous, twisted Warp Nebula.

The worst situation had occurred!

Outside, there were attacks from Tzeentch daemons, the Geller Field was in critical condition, and inside, crew members were corrupted by Chaos, and the Astropaths could not control the heading—everything seemed to indicate that the fleet was heading for destruction!

It was too sudden!

From entering the Warp, to encountering the stargate, to being blocked by Tzeentch daemons, and the Astropaths being 'headshotted'—the fleet crisis left Emrys almost no room or time to react.

"Is this what you called—a crisis?!" Emrys gritted his teeth and turned to look at his cheap old man.

"Theoretically... it shouldn't be like this."

However, even Edoras, who had experienced it once before, was a bit bewildered now. He frowned, looking at the twisted Nebula outside the window.

"Logically, when entering this 'stargate,' although there would be some 'trials,' this is a bit too strange."

"Was it like this when you encountered it last time?" Emrys' tone was a bit impatient.

This level and scale of attack clearly no longer fell within the scope of a 'trial'!

"No, we—" Edoras pondered for half a second and said, "We encountered illusions. Although they were also terrifying and caused us to lose nearly half our numbers, we definitely didn't encounter these things."

After saying that, Edoras seemed to think of something, his gaze heavy.

"These things... are more like they're trying to stop you?"

"Stop me?"

Hearing this, Emrys' heart trembled.

It really seemed that way. Not encountering it earlier or later, but precisely when they were about to enter the 'stargate' and return to the correct course.

It was as if Tzeentch had known all along that he would come here and was deliberately waiting for him to prevent him from approaching!

"No matter who it is, no one will stop me!" Emrys took a deep breath, then regained his composure.

"Inform the Klein family to maintain the Geller Field with all their might, and let—"

Before he could finish his sentence, the battleship seemed to be forcibly pulled back by a huge force from behind!

The violent tremor almost made Emrys fall from his seat. He knelt, grabbed the handrail, and barely managed to look up.

"Report, Machine Spirit!"

"Reporting to the Overlord, all ship power has been completely lost. We—are trapped!"

Power lost?!

Emrys' pupils contracted.

"The engine room has also been invaded?!"

"Yes, Overlord."

The Machine Spirit of the Excalibur flickered with an ominous red light.

"Both main and auxiliary engine rooms have been invaded by a large number of Chaos daemons. Attempts to restart have failed—unknown factors are affecting it—"

The worst had happened. Emrys wanted to pull up surveillance near the engine room, but the Machine Spirit was already in a jammed state and could not perform its duties.

To escape this twisted Nebula, they had to restore engine operation as quickly as possible.

But now, the Geller Field was almost breached. From the lower to the middle levels, there were shadows of Tzeentch daemons almost everywhere. Only the upper level, protected by a large number of anti-Warp runes, could barely hold on.

"Kid, have you offended the Four Chaos God?" Edoras looked at him with a pained expression.

"How can you always encounter such evil things every time you travel?"

"How would I know?!"

Emrys gritted his teeth angrily, immediately drew his power sword, tore off the crimson cloak embroidered with the Emrys family crest on his shoulder, and said coldly.

"Winnie, Hilda, Ilia, follow me!"

Tzeentch, huh?

This time, old and new scores would be settled together.

The three women were fully armored. Carol remained on the upper level, responsible for controlling the last area of the ship. Emrys personally led the three, along with Edoras in his spiritual form, preparing to retake the engine room.

However, as soon as they took the elevator and reached the middle level, they were shocked by the scene before them.

"This—is this even within the country?!"

Emrys' eyes widened as he looked at the crystal-clear, labyrinthine structure made of countless corridors, and he was completely stunned.

Crystal Labyrinth?!

From all directions, the huge, staggered complex of buildings, seemingly crystal-clear and constructed from pure crystal, was clearly not a normal Warp, but rather the mighty power of Chaos from the highest heaven!

This was the domain of Loki!

In other words—their fleet had accidentally entered the trap of this cunning Chaos God!

"...If I may ask one more thing."

Emrys took a deep breath, looking at Edoras with a complex expression.

"Are Rogue Traders destined to clash with Chaos? Why do I always encounter such things as soon as I set sail?!"

"How is that possible?" Edoras glanced at him, his expression a bit strange.

"If it were that easy to encounter, who would still want to be a Rogue Trader?!"

Everyone becomes a Rogue Trader to make money.

If it were really that easy, 'bumping into ghosts' every day, who would still want to be a Rogue Trader?

That one sentence almost made Emrys freeze.

He had thought that Rogue Traders encountering the Four Chaos God, even if not a high-probability event, should at least be an occasional sudden event.

But from Edoras' reaction, it seemed that was not the case.

"Heh, I've already told you, you're not like normal people," Edoras said with a cold laugh, travel his arms over his chest.

"In my entire life, the number of evil things I've encountered probably isn't as much as you've encountered in a month."

He had served as the family head of Merlin for more than ten years, often entering various dangerous areas, but even so, he had only encountered one or two incidents related to Warp God.

And even if he did encounter them, it was only a few Chaos daemons, nowhere near like Emrys, where the lowest level was a Chaos Lord, and it could easily escalate to Greater daemons, Chosen, and such monstrous things?!

To put it bluntly.

Some Rogue Traders never encounter situations like Emrys' in their entire lives, even the front-line Astra Militarum.

Emrys' mouth twitched.

Understood, he was special, so his 'treatment' was also very special, making him more likely to 'bump into ghosts'!
