Chapter 21 - 020: Captain Videl

East City is a bustling metropolis, as famous as West City where Capsule Corporation is located.

Both cities are currently the largest on Earth.

They are also the two major economic hubs of Earth.

Once, West City's economy was slightly more developed than East City's due to the presence of Capsule Corporation.

But later, the androids attacked West City, and it fell, turning into ruins.

However, the androids never went to East City.

So now, whether in terms of economy or population, East City is already the most prosperous city in the dragon ball world, bar none.

Gohan descended from the sky and stood atop a skyscraper over a hundred stories tall, witnessing the heavy traffic of East City.

On the streets, vehicles flowed endlessly, and the crowds were surging and noisy—a picture of peaceful times.

This was a true golden age of the mortal world.

Gohan liked the current world very much... half an hour ago.

In another part of East City.

Six bikers used explosives to blow open the East Capital Bank.

"Boom!"

Flames soared into the sky, and thick smoke filled the entire street.

"Ah, help!"

"No, please let me go, I have elders and children to support..."

Bang bang bang!

The robbers pulled the triggers, and bullets flew out of the barrels, taking away fresh lives one after another.

As people died, the scene became even more chaotic.

A robber carrying a submachine gun laughed wildly, "Hahaha, everyone, we're just borrowing some money to spend. If you insist on getting in our way, then I'm sorry."

"Everyone, get down! Hands behind your heads!"

The bank staff all crouched down, trembling with fear.

The robbers were satisfied with their performance and took out sacks to fill with bags of coins and gold bars.

But at that moment, an old man, tears streaming down his face, loudly scolded the group of robbers.

"Beasts! You bunch of beasts! You'll all die horrible deaths, you beasts!"

Simply because his wife had just died under the robbers' guns.

So, he didn't want to live anymore either.

"Heh!" One of the robbers grinned and pressed the submachine gun against the old man's forehead.

"Old man, do you want to die? Why can the androids do it and we can't? We've been very merciful already, haven't we?"

"Beasts! You and the androids are all beasts." The old man wasn't afraid at all.

"Since you want to die so badly, I'll grant your wish."

The robber sneered and was about to pull the trigger to blow the old man's head off.

But just then, several police cars roared up, surrounding the East Capital Bank so tightly that not even a drop of water could leak out.

"Shit, the annoying flies got here so fast." The robber gave up on killing the old man, looked at the police outside, and frowned.

A beautiful policewoman with a graceful figure stepped out of a police car, holding a megaphone to address the robbers inside the East Capital Bank.

"Listen up, people inside! You are surrounded! I am the captain for this operation, Videl. Release the hostages, and I can promise to let you leave here safely."

"I'll give you two minutes to consider. The timer starts now."

Videl was in her early twenties, heroic and spirited, with long black hair and a brow full of vibrant energy.

She wore a uniform that accentuated her impressive figure, and her legs appeared even longer against the backdrop of the uniform.

A true "uniform temptation."

The robbers in the bank gulped.

Then they began whispering among themselves.

"Damn, how can there be such a beautiful policewoman?"

"You don't know her? She's the Hero Cop of East City. There hasn't been a case she's handled that she couldn't solve."

"Ah, she's that good?"

"Nonsense, why else do you think she's the captain? I've seen her in action; her martial arts are incredible, she's a real fighter."

"We're in trouble this time. I didn't expect her to be the one leading the team."

"What do we do now, Big Brother?"

"What's there to be afraid of? We have guns and hostages. Why should we be afraid of that woman outside?"

"I don't believe she has multiple heads or hands."

"How about we hand over the hostages and let her release us?"

"Does she keep her word?"

"They say her word is as good as gold; she's very reliable."

"Alright, then let's do as she says. We'll hand over the hostages, but she has to guarantee our safe departure."

"Mm, okay."

The bandits finished their discussion.

Then they shouted back to the police.

"Fine, Officer Videl, we'll do as you say. We'll release the hostages, but you must guarantee our safe departure from here."

"I'm warning you in advance: we have a large amount of firearms and ammunition. If you don't keep your word, we don't mind taking you down with us."

"Officer Videl, what do you say?"

Videl said, "Of course, no problem. I can agree to that. Release the hostages now."

"Fine," the robber agreed.

Then, they carrying the sacks on their shoulders and holding over a dozen hostages, they left the bank and came out onto the main road.

The dozen or so hostages were successfully transferred.

The six robbers threw the sacks into their cars and then drove off.

They never expected they would actually be let go just like that.

From a distance came the loud laughter of the robbers.

"Hahaha! Videl, you bitch! Sooner or later, I'll fuck you to death! Hahaha!"

Hearing such words, the police officers instantly became furious.

This was outrageous.

These people actually dared to insult their captain?

A young male officer said angrily, "Captain, when do we pursue?"

Cold light flashed in Videl's eyes, and she grinned coldly, "Humph, let them be arrogant for a while. Well? Did you install the trackers and time bombs on their cars like I told you?"

The male officer nodded and said, "Of course. Here."

As he spoke, he handed Videl a tablet and a remote control. The tablet was showing the real-time locations of the two robbers' cars.

Videl stared at the tablet for a while.

Then she took out a capsule and threw it on the ground, and it turned into a jet plane.

A few seconds later, she shouted, "Alright, now! Pursue!"

"Yes, Captain!"

Several police cars roared away.

Videl herself also piloted the jet plane and gave chase.

The two robbers' cars sped along, racing down the wide road.

One of the robbers, clutching a sack in his arms, said excitedly, "Big Brother, where are we going to enjoy ourselves tonight? With all this money, it's enough to last us a long time."

"We'll talk about it in a few days. For now, let's lie low."

"Oh, okay. I'll listen to you, Big Brother."

"Ah, Big Brother, this is bad! The police are catching up!"

One of the robbers saw the pursuing police cars in the rearview mirror.

"What?"

"Holy crap!"

One robber pointed to the jet plane hovering above and said, "The plane in the sky must be them too."

"Shit, it really is."

"Damn it, that woman Videl didn't keep her word. She's catching up."

"Shoot down that plane for me!"

Several robbers raised their submachine guns and unleashed a barrage of fire at the police cars behind them and the jet plane in the sky.

The submachine guns continuously spat out tongues of fire, making a "da-da-da" sound.

Videl piloted the jet plane, constantly dodging bullets, but the fuselage was still hit by many stray rounds, sending sparks flying with a "clang-clang-clang."

Videl's expression grew colder and colder.

Soon, the robbers' cars reached an open stretch of road.

"Heh, accept your punishment, you bastards."

Videl sneered and pressed the remote control in her hand.

"Boom!"

The two cars speeding along the ground exploded with a roar, and money flew everywhere.

The six robbers were thrown out, rolling across the ground like tumbling gourds.

Every one of them had suffered varying degrees of injury, with their heads broken and bleeding.

Someone struggled to stand up.

"Damn it, what happened?"

One of the robbers wiped the blood smeared on his face and said angrily.

"Dammit, it must have been that damn woman who messed with our cars. Dammit!"

"I still have another car here. Everyone, get in and let's go." As he spoke, he took out a capsule.

But before he could turn the capsule into a car, several police cars arrived and surrounded them completely. Videl also landed from the sky.

She jumped down from the jet, walked over with her long legs, kicked one of the robbers over, and then stepped on his chest.

She sneered, "Was it you who was just insulting me?"
