Inside Pakura's house, Daigo and Pakura were sitting in the main living room though neither spoke, and the silence wasn't uncomfortable at all.

Especially for Daigo, who was enjoying the comfortable sofa he hadn't had since he went to train with Todo. Sleeping in those camping tents hadn't exactly been the most comfortable experience.

"I imagine you've gotten stronger, right?" Pakura asked, looking at Daigo who met her gaze with a calm smile.

"That's right. Though not at an advanced level yet, I've improved and now I can use Water Release, so I have more cards up my sleeve," Daigo replied.

Pakura nodded, then stood up from her seat and went to a cabinet. She opened it and pulled out a fairly large box.

"Pakura-chan, since I'm here what was the reason you told me to come find you when I got back to Suna? You know I still haven't seen Mom and Dad," Daigo said, grabbing one of the cookies from the small table.

"Why didn't you go to your parents' house first instead of here? That's more important what I have can wait," Pakura replied while opening the box.

"I think you're right, but I thought it would be quick. Come on, just tell me already I'm getting desperate," Daigo said, standing up from his chair and approaching Pakura to look at the box, a little confused by what was inside.

"You couldn't wait one more second, huh? Doesn't matter this thing you see here is something my family has had for a very long time, though no one has ever used it," Pakura said, now taking out the object.

"A scroll?" Daigo asked, confused.

"That's right. This is a summoning scroll. It's very valuable to shinobi some would pay millions to get one. Though it doesn't matter if you have it if the summoning doesn't accept you, you won't be able to summon anything."

At Pakura's explanation, Daigo could only slap his own forehead for being so dumb. It seemed all the training had really affected him in his mind for not remembering about summons scrolls.

"I remember now. So this is a summoning contract. Are you going to sign it? What kind of animal is it? What power does it have?" Daigo asked, not letting Pakura finish speaking. Already annoyed, Pakura grabbed Daigo by the ear, making him yelp while trying to stop the pain.

"Pakura-chan, why are you grabbing my ear? You know they're sensitive," Daigo said, moving a little away from Pakura so she wouldn't do it again.

"Because you won't shut up let me finish. I'm not going to sign it. As I told you, my family has never been able to sign it because the summoning doesn't have anything in common with us. But I wanted to give it to you to repay you for saving my life two months ago," Pakura said, offering the scroll to Daigo who didn't take it right away. He just looked at Pakura uncertainly.

"Are you sure about this? You know you don't have to repay me you will do the same for me if I were in the same situation."

"I know, but we haven't used it, and I think this summoning will help you a lot. It's perfect for you. If they don't accept you, you can bring it back and I'll keep it," Pakura said.

At this, Daigo had no choice but to accept the scroll and take it though he had always wanted to have a summoning.

He never thought he would get one. If he remembered correctly, summonings in Naruto are very rare even difficult to obtain.

The most famous ones are the toads, snakes, and slugs and it's because of the Sannin that they have enough fame for using them. But getting any of those is impossible unless you're their student.

So from the beginning, Daigo thought it would be impossible or at least until he became Kazekage. But now Pakura had given him one for free.

Daigo didn't hesitate he gave Pakura a strong hug, catching her by surprise.

"Thank you so much, Pakura-chan. Summonings have always interested me, but I thought I'd never get one," Daigo said, releasing the strong hug from a blushing Pakura.

"It's nothing. I hope they accept you. Let's go to the backyard so you can sign it," Pakura said, starting to walk toward the back with Daigo who was carrying the scroll.

Both arrived at the backyard a small training field. Obviously, you couldn't use jutsu there since it would destroy the surroundings, but it was perfect for practicing taijutsu or even meditating outdoors.

Daigo didn't take long to open the scroll and place it on the ground. He then opened it and saw that it was empty no names. He took a kunai, cut the tip of his finger, and signed his name with his blood.

In the next instant that the name was written, Daigo disappeared in a puff of smoke leaving Pakura and the scroll alone in the training field.

With Daigo in the summoning realm

When his feet touched solid ground again, the impact was so firm that his knees creaked.

It wasn't sand he felt under his ninja sandals it was hard rock that seemed hand-carved.

Daigo opened his eyes and what he saw left him stunned because he wasn't in the Suna desert. He was in a place that defied human scale. He stood atop a colossal plateau, surrounded by mountains that didn't seem made of stone, but of carved ivory.

The sky was a deep cobalt blue, and the sun though bright wasn't like the desert's. It radiated a constant warmth that would be satisfying for any cold-blooded animal.

"Where the hell am I? This is gigantic," Daigo said to himself while looking in all directions.

In the distance, he could see giant waterfalls cascading from the mountains, causing a constant sound of water falling.

Then the ground vibrated. It was a shockwave so powerful that Daigo had to use chakra in his feet to stay standing.

BOOM… BOOM… BOOM…

It wasn't an avalanche or an earthquake—Daigo recognized that what he was hearing were footsteps.

From the golden mist covering the lower valley emerged a figure that made Suna's buildings seem like toys. An elephant of proportions rivaling a Bijū walked slowly.

It wore a saffron silk robe draped over its back, and on its shoulders rested a wooden structure that looked like an ancient temple. Its tusks were engraved with letters glowing with a soft silver light.

"A human?" Daigo heard the voice though it felt more like a gust of wind hitting him.

"It has been a long time since the guardians of the flames sent someone to these lands," the figure said toward Daigo.

Daigo thought about getting into a defensive stance, but he knew that if that creature wanted to crush him, he wouldn't have any chance.

"My name is Daigo. I'm a shinobi from Sunagakure," Daigo shouted, trying to make his voice reach the height of the creature's eyes.

"I was brought here after signing the summoning scroll with my blood."

The giant stopped. Its enormous eyes looked at Daigo with overflowing wisdom.

Daigo now able to see clearly since the mist had cleared realized it was a giant elephant.

The elephant lowered its trunk, exhaling a gust of air that smelled like incense to Daigo.

"The contract of Zō-no-Kuni (Elephant Kingdom) is not just signing with your blood and being able to summon," the giant said.

"I know. That's why I think I was brought here. I want to be worthy and have you become my summoning," Daigo said, looking toward the elephant.

"I understand. You will have to pass our criteria if that's what you seek. My name is Daisen, patriarch of the elephant clan," Daisen said his voice powerful.

"Nice to meet you, Daisen. I hope to pass those tests," Daigo said though suddenly a sound was heard, and a much smaller figure about the size of a normal rhinoceros jumped from one of the upper rocks and landed in front of Daigo with surprising agility.

It wore reinforced leather tactical vest and carried two huge scrolls strapped to its sides.

"Wow, Grandpa! He's small! He's really small!" the new elephant said in an energetic, youthful voice.

"This is ZōYū, my grandson" Daisen introduced. He will be your first test. In our kingdom, we do not summon to serve but to fight in harmony. If you want your name to remain on that scroll, you must prove that your feet are as connected to the earth as ours."

Daigo observing the new elephant that had arrived saw that it was small compared to Daisen, but still gigantic compared to him. If he had to defeat it, he couldn't underestimate it.

"What do I have to do?" Daigo asked, looking at both elephants.

ZōYū stepped forward, striking the ground with one of its front feet.

"It's simple, little Daigo. We're going to play vibrations. I'll strike the ground using my favorite technique, and you must dodge. If you fail and my technique hits you, you lose. If you last 1 minute, you win."

"I understand but what kind of technique is it?" Daigo asked though a trunk struck him, knocking him away from ZōYū.

"I'm starting now, Daigo don't lose too fast," ZōYū said, striking the ground with a powerful trunk blow.

Daigo seeing the strike expected the earth to be completely destroyed and pieces of rock to fly into the air, but that wasn't the case.

ZōYū's trunk which before seemed like steel upon hitting the ground became like rubber, only touching the surface without doing any real damage.

Daigo with his guard up knew what was coming wasn't normal, so he waited… and waited until he felt something in the ground.

A small movement made him disappear in a quick motion and reappear meters away.

In his previous position, 5 stone spikes emerged from the ground shattering Daigo's afterimage.

"Not bad, little Daigo. I see you're quite fast but it's time to start. Survive," ZōYū said, even more excited, striking the ground again.

Though this time he didn't strike just once he struck more, again and again and again like he was playing a drum with his trunk.

Daigo could only feel the entire ground shaking not being able to predict where they would come from so he had no choice but to run.

Though the stone spikes seemed to read his movements appearing exactly where his path crossed his reflexe been train from the start let him barely escape saving himself from been killed by the stone.

Seeing that his current speed and reflexes weren't enough, he activated the First Breath of the Seven Heavens beginning to dodge and move even faster.

Daisen from a little farther away noticed the change in Daigo and watched him with curiosity as his speed and reflexes increased when he began controlling his breathing.

"It seems this era brought someone interesting," Daisen said to himself.

While Daisen thought, Daigo wasn't having such an easy time being cornered and nearly pierced by the stone spikes several more times.

"Hahahaha, you're fun, little Daigo! Though you only have… I don't know, I forgot so let's start over. Though this time I'll catch you," ZōYū said, even more excited, striking the ground.

"It's already been a minute, ZōYū! It's over stop the attack!" Daigo shouted, barely dodging another stone spear.

"What did you say, little Daigo? I can't hear you," ZōYū said, continuing his attacks.

And so Daigo's torture… sorry, his trial continued though to his frustration, ZōYū seemed to have memory loss, or the fun was so great that he always forgot how much time had passed having to restart the test.
