Currently, Daigo felt exposed and confused. He had never before been without his senses available, and the one he used the most was his eyes. Being blocked from them felt different like how blind or deaf people must feel.

His eyes were blindfolded with his own shirt, his ears sealed with the wooden plugs

Daisen had refined, and his nostrils blocked. He was barefoot, the soles of his feet feeling the coldness of the chilled earth.

"Daigo, you can cover your ears now. Remember that ZōYū will throw the stones in different places each time, and you have to feel the vibrations. It won't be easy, and you'll probably get frustrated, but always keep your mind at peace and you'll succeed," Daisen instructed.

"Alright, Daisen-san. I'll make sure to stay calm and manage to feel the vibrations," Daigo replied.

Daigo took a deep breath, feeling the vibration of his own lungs in his chest. He was tense, but by controlling his breathing, he managed to calm his rapid heartbeat.

Now in complete harmony and silence, Daigo prepared himself and waited to feel the vibrations though several seconds passed and he felt nothing.

So he simply stayed waiting to feel something until a strong vibration finally reached his soles, and he pointed his finger in the direction of the vibration.

But he felt a firm touch on his left shoulder. That was the signal that he had failed.

While Daigo tried to decipher the vibrations,

ZōYū was enjoying this. The young elephant threw stones of quite a large size, creating significant vibrations for Daigo to feel.

He had started with smaller ones, and each time Daigo failed to feel anything, he increased the size of the stone along with the force he used to launch it into the sky so that the impact would create an even greater vibration.

Obviously, for Daigo, he only waited to feel something without knowing that the piece of stone was currently bigger compared to the stones he imagined.

Daigo now felt confused because he could feel them, but he didn't know the direction they were supposed to fall. And when he pointed to a place, the tap on his left shoulder let him know he was wrong.

"Calm down," he ordered himself, burying his feet deeper into the earth. "If I can't feel a stone falling, how will I ever feel a ninja who makes almost no sound or vibration?"

He closed his mind to everything except the point of contact between his feet and the earth. And though Daisen hadn't said anything about chakra, he used a thin layer on the soles of his feet and relaxed. He left his covered eyes and senses blocked and began to "listen" with the soles of his feet.

Tap… tap… tap… tap… tap… tap…

A repetitive vibration came from the front, about ten meters away. It wasn't a sound it was an entirely different sensation. It felt like being hit with a small drop of water on the soles of his feet, but one that kept dripping in the same place.

"Front," he said aloud so Daisen could hear him.

This time, there was no corrective tap on his shoulder. The silence continued, but it was a silence of approval. Daigo smiled. He had felt the first thread of the formula to master seismic sense.

Meanwhile in the villages

The world creaked under the weight of military boots. At the northern border of the Land of Wind, Sunagakure's advanced camp was no longer just a desperate point of resistance in the middle of an infinite sea of dunes.

It had completely transformed into a fortified stronghold ready to respond to any attack coming from the direction toward Suna.

Inside the main command tent, oil lamps cast elongated shadows over a giant map of the desert along with the south of the Land of Earth where the red marks of Iwagakure spread like a plague over northern Suna territory.

Rasa the man bearing the weight of leading the troops on the front while the Kazekage was away stood at the head of the table. His golden eyes, cold and analytical, showed no fatigue despite three days without sleep. His hands rested on the map, right over the "Wind Scream Canyon" the place where the desert geography created a natural funnel.

"Iwa has moved three elite battalions toward sector four," Ebizō announced the chief strategist adjusting his glasses with a trembling finger. "These aren't simple genin reinforcements. We've identified badges from the Explosion Corps and elite trackers.

Their objective is obvious: cut off our water supply from the central oasis. If they control that point, our main base won't last five days. We'll die of thirst before the first kunai touches us."

"We won't allow it," Rasa replied his voice resonating with an authority that allowed no rebuttal.

"Ebizō, I want the vanguard divided into three wings. Pakura, you will take command of the right flank. Your heat spheres are the only thing that can pierce their reinforced earth walls before they fully solidify."

Pakura nodded, adjusting her arm guards. Her eyes reflected a thirst for combat that only those who have stood on the brink of death can possess and a bit of revenge from last time.

"Consider it done. I won't let any of those Iwa dogs pass," Pakura said with a fierce smile.

"Do we have any information on ninjas who might have bounties or be famous?"

"From Iwa, they have Kitsuchi the Tsuchikage's son as commander. There could also be one of the jinchūriki as reinforcement if they need it, along with the Kamizuru clan plus the sheer number of ninjas, being the village with the most in the nations," Ebizō commented from his place.

"In reality, Iwa seems very upset about Gari's death from the Explosion Corps and our refusal to hand over Daigo. That's why all this is happening," Pakura said, looking at both.

"Iwa wanted to start the war, and Gari's death was just what they needed to begin though we're not the same Suna as before," Rasa said.

"I agree. And though they have the advantage in numbers, we have the puppet unit ready to match them, right Sasori?" Ebizō asked, looking toward the corner of the room.

From the darkness emerged the figure of a 12-year-old boy wearing a red cape that covered him down to the knees, black ANBU pants, and his ninja sandals.

It was Sasori, who observed the map with an indifference that didn't seem interested at all.

"My puppet unit has already seeded the lower valley with traps," Sasori said dry as usual. "I've deployed not only explosive traps but also highly dangerous and easily inhalable poisons. That should greatly reduce casualties and then we'll finish the job."

"Excellent," Ebizō murmured. With all these preparations, they were confident they could neutralize losses and gain territory as planned though first we will be would shields before the spears, Ebizō thought.

The room fell silent as everyone thought about what to say but the door opened, and a loud voice burst in at full volume.

"Hey Rasa, why are we waiting? Let's go out and attack! I'll defeat them all and if I need help, Shukaku will lend me his power to tear them to pieces," Arata said, entering the room.

His messy blond hair along with the raccoon marks on his face made it obvious to anyone looking that he was the jinchūriki.

Along with that, he wore a chūnin vest without a shirt underneath leaving his skin exposed long cream-colored ANBU pants, and to finish, ninja sandals.

"Arata, who gave you permission to come and interrupt the meeting?" Rasa asked, looking at him seriously.

"No one and I didn't need it. I came to ask when the attack starts. I'm getting bored," Arata replied.

"Arata, if I remember correctly, Daigo told me you like fighting strong people, right?" Pakura asked, looking at the boy who, at the mention of Daigo's name, gave her his full attention.

"Huh? Daigo where is he? I need my rematch! This time I'll defeat him, and then Shukaku and I will be the strongest!" Arata said, ignoring Pakura's question.

"Daigo is training and won't be here for a while so his challenge will have to wait. But I think you'll like to hear this, so sit down," Ebizō said, looking at Arata who only frowned and sat down, pulling out a canteen and drinking where the strong smell of alcohol hit everyone.

"Don't you think you're too young to drink?" Rasa asked, looking at him.

"Huh? I'm old enough to kill drinking is the least of the problems. Now tell me what interests me, old man I don't have time to waste," Arata said.

"The jinchūriki of the Four or Five Tails should be ready and waiting to be called. You would want to face them if they come, wouldnt you?" Ebizō asked, looking at Arata who now paid full attention.

"Now we're talking about fun things. What do I have to do to fight the other jinchūriki?"

"For now, wait. Let us and the plans handle it. If things go as we think, they won't take long to arrive and then you can unleash all your energy on them," Ebizō said.

"Wouldn't it be a bit dangerous for Arata to face one of those experienced jinchūriki?" Pakura asked curiously.

"It doesn't matter. I'll take care of Arata and help him in battle if necessary," Rasa said.

"Well then, it's settled. In case one appears, Arata along with Rasa will be responsible for stopping it and if possible, capturing it. On the other hand, Pakura if that happens you'll be in charge of the troops," Ebizō said.

"So what's the final plan?" Sasori asked, not wanting to waste more time.

"The plan is an ambush. We'll lure their vanguard into the heart of the canyon. The puppet unit will attack from the heights taking advantage of puppets with kunai launchers and poison weapons. Pakura, along with a squad, will cut off their retreat from behind turning the way back into a pit of ashes for any ninja who tries to flee. And if they try to break the encirclement by brute force, Rasa should be ready to finish the job with his Gold sand. And in case a jinchūriki arrives, Arata along with Rasa will stop them," Ebizō explained.

"For me, it all sounds perfect. Good luck to everyone tomorrow," Pakura said, standing up.

"Same," Sasori said.

"Too many words. let me know when the jinchūriki arrives so I can have fun," Arata said, leaving the room.

Leaving only Ebizō and Rasa alone.

"What are you thinking, Rasa?" Ebizō asked.

"Do you think it's safe to let Arata fight against the other jinchūriki? I think with my Gold sand it should be enough to stop them," Rasa said.

"Maybe but remember the Kazekage's words: we have to use these dangerous battles to grow not just one ninja, but all of them and improve the village's reputation in the war. You still have a lot to learn, Rasa, to be a candidate for the Kage position though you're not doing badly," Ebizō said, taking a sip of tea.

"I understand, Ebizō-sama. Thank you for your help with the strategy today. Have a good night," Rasa said before leaving the room leaving Ebizō alone.

"I think in that regard, Daigo has beaten you, Rasa. You has a strong opponent to claim that seat though may the best win. I'm just an old man who will soon go beyond," Ebizō said.

Outside the tent, the sun finally sank behind the dunes, giving way to a freezing night. Suna ninjas checked their weapons in silence sharpening blades and preparing scrolls. Pakura left the tent and looked toward the stars, sighing at what was coming in these days while unconsciously her hand went to her necklace, squeezing it.

The deployment began under the cover of darkness. Hundreds of hooded figures moved like ghosts over the sand, heading to their ambush positions. The silence was absolute broken only by the hiss of the wind that sounded as if it had life and knew what was about to happen there.

Tomorrow, the lands would be painted red with the blood of both sides and the official war of the Village Hidden in the Rocks against the Village Hidden in the Sand would begin.
