"EEK!" In surprise I scream out loud without thinking.
Immediately I remember who was behind me and start getting embarrassed by letting out such a scream. Moving my body, I turn around in the hole, and I'm met face to face with Inv point blank.
"I-inv! Why did you touch my tail!" I say in embarrassment towards him. With his face so close as well I can feel my heart start racing a bit.
"U wert movin su i thout somting wa wong…" hearing his explanation I calm down a bit. It's nice to see he did it out of concern but…
'That was like grabbing my ass! I can't just let him do it outside a shelter like that!'
"It's alright Inv i was just making sure nothing was about to get the jump on us. But don't do that again while we're outside a shelter! What if I suddenly just touched your tail out of nowhere!" I say to Inv trying to make a point.
"O-oh!! Gu ahea!!!"
"Wait wha-
Before I can finish my sentence, I see Inv unnaturally turn his body around in the tight space like water. And now all I see is Inv's wagging tail in front of me.

'Well… that's not what I was expecting'
I'm not sure what Inv is expecting but I can see his tail is bright red and pink right now. Since it's in such a small space I see the tail hitting the walls of the narrow space making a 'thump' sound every time it hits a metal wall.

I raise both of my paws forward and grab Inv's tail. When I touch his tail, I find myself a bit surprised. It's surprisingly sturdy? But it's also soft?
'To be honest his tail is probably the most normal part about him… the strange tingling sensation is there but that's about it'
While thinking this I can feel Inv's tail stop moving. While I would like to touch his tail more… We still have things to do.
Getting a better grip on Inv's thick simple tail. I start pulling. Since Inv isn't resisting I'm able to easily pull him out of the hole onto the floor of the wide corridor.
"Huh?? Y u sto Joey???" Inv stands up and looks at me, his face completely red.
'What the hell was he expecting?!'
"We got more important things to do Inv! Don't you wanna eat?" I say as I look away from him trying to not show my embarrassment.
"Oh ye!! Me forgor!!"
"Come on Inv were almost there"
After saying this I start walking down the corridor with Inv right behind me.
While walking down the long corridor I don't see anything that could attack us so that's good…
'Oh, hey there's the dropwig I killed earlier… well, what's left of it anyways'
"H-hay Joey…" breaking me from my thoughts I hear Inv stutter from behind me.
I stop and turn around and see Inv stop as well. For some reason I see his face completely red but also with a mix of purple? I can also see him nervously twiddling his stick like fingers together.
"What's wrong Inv?" I ask somewhat worried. I haven't seen this mixture of colors before on him…
"D-di u no lik wen i tuched yur tal earler??" I hear Inv ask quietly.
"Huh?" I'm caught off guard by Inv's question. Why did he ask that? How do I even respond to something like this?
…
'I mean… I did like it, but should I say that out loud?'
While thinking this and not giving Inv an answer I can see Inv grow more nervous since I can see the purple slowly overtaking the red on his face.

'Fuck it'
"Yes, Inv I… I liked it when you touched my tail" I say this while covering my face with my paws. I can't believe I just said that out loud!
'I think I'm dying from cringe…'
"O-oh!!! D-dat gud!! I tought u didn lik dat…" I can hear Inv sound relieved while saying this.
Removing my paws from my face I can see the purple on him completely gone. Now only a mixture of blue and red.
"Inv why did you think that? Aren't we partners now? I told you I would like every part about you… even you touching me" while I feel embarrassed saying this I don't look away from him this time.
"W-wel… i wasn sur sence u scweam earler…" hearing Inv's simple reason I let out a sigh of relief. Is that what he's worried about?
"I only screamed cause I wasn't prepared Inv. I uhh… had other times where I've been grabbed from behind by things that would hurt me…" reminding myself of all the times where I've been grabbed from behind by a lizard or something else dampens my mood a bit.
"Oh… i sowy…" Seeing Inv's sad expression I push down the bad memories.
'Can't be looking sad in front of Inv!'
"That's why I said you can do that kind of stuff when were inside a shelter ok? Just don't do it when we're outside. We always have to be prepared while outside" I assure Inv.
"O-ok!!! I won do dat ousid sheler!!!" seeing Inv smile, I give a nod and turn around. Seeing his smile, I can't stop myself from feeling a smile spread across my face.
"Ok Inv just up ahead is the food" I say to Inv who's behind me and I start moving forward.
"Ok!!!" I hear from behind me.

'Wait did I just give him permission he can touch my ass whenever he wants in a shelter?!'

'Whatever… I already said he could…'
Finishing this thought I arrive at the edge of the corridor and can see the fast-moving grey clouds ahead in the horizon.
Stopping for a second at the ledge Inv stops right next to me.
