I remained quiet for the rest of the drive back. My head was starting to hurt and the lack of breakfast was finally getting to me.
There were just so many questions twirling in my head but no forthcoming answers. The police van finally got to the guesthouse, the students were all outside, ready to continue their trip.
It felt all unreal to me.
Someone had literally died, yet the day had gone on like it normally would. The world hadn't even stopped to mourn. And from what I learnt Agatha barely had any friends which wasn't surprising at the least. But still, I felt bad for her.
I felt Madeleine's hand on the small curve of my back as we got down from the van. "Have you had anything to eat?" she asked.
I shook my head, my stomach choosing that time to grumble.
She laughed lightly. "I'll grab you something. Go back your bags and join the others." She bent down, her lips directly against the shell of my ear.
I looked around in panic to make sure no one else was watching us.
