Chapter 13 - Chapter-13 Welcome to Hell

"Fresh radish! Ten coppers per jin! Get them before they get sold out."

"Young master! Buy one of these jade hairpins for the beautiful lady."

"hmm... maybe I should buy one." Said Fang Ryuu as he glanced at Lin Yanran, who, upon feeling his gaze cast an enchanting smile at him and tightened her grip on hand.

Fang Ryuu chose the white hairpin with gold detailing on it- the one he thought would suit her best- and paid with silver coins he had previously materialised with his waning cultivation.

Lin Yanran gave Fang Ryuu a longing gaze and Fang Ryuu understanding the gaze, he walked behind her. Gently he removed the old hairpin and carefully fixed the new one at its place.

"You look stunning my dear."

Lin Yanran stared lovingly at Fang Ryuu as they continued their date- walking through the bustling market while still holding each other's hands.

The two strolled through the market for a while, buying various items for each other before eventually reaching the famous food establishment of the city.

"Welcome to the Wandering Winds Food Pavilion. Please allow me to show you to your tables."

The server, dressed in proper uniform led them to their table. It was a table near the window on the highest floor, providing them the best view of the city.

Fang Ryuu slipped a few silver coins to the sever before pulling out the chair for Lin Yanran.

"Thank you~ Husband"

"You're welcome, dear." He said as he sat down.

The two placed their orders before they started chatting.

"So is your cultivation still sealed?"

"Yeah, my body had fully recovered but the seal on my cultivation is strengthening itself." Fang Ryuu replied, desperation creeping in his voice. "At this rate, I will be back to a mortal's level in a couple of months. Even now I have fallen to nascent soul."

Even the system had given him the cold shoulder after he arrived on this backwater planet. He had some ideas as to why this might be happening.

The cultivation methods of this planet were different than the normal methods used in the galaxy.

The people here cultivated a pill like beasts cultivated cores inside their body.

'My cultivation does not conform to the rules of this world's will so it is suppressing my cultivation. I just hope that nothing serious happens before I complete my role in the heavens play.'

"Don't worry; I am sure we will be fine. I just need to cultivate as per this world's cultivation methods."

'OH SHIT!' Fang Ryuu felt power of law reacting to his worlds and readied himself to brace for impact, but to his surprise nothing happened.

'Have I finally got some control over the backlash?'

"Yes! I will not let anyone harm you while you re-cultivate. I have some methods with me. I think 'Black Catastrophe Pill method' of the ruined, Seven Evils Sect will be best for you."

The two ate their food while continuously chatting about their life and other random topics before they exited the Wandering Winds Pavilion to return home.

"Today was fun."

"Agreed..."

Fang Ryuu and Lin Yanran stood in the courtyard as a sweet silence settled between them. The place felt more beautiful than usual—the green trees and shrubs, trimmed into elegant ornamental shapes, seemed alive, while the small, serene pond surrounded by polished stones resembled an immortal lake.

Soft moonlight bathed their figures as they stood side by side, gazing at the beautiful moon of Atills.

Fang Ryuu turned to look at Lin Yanran, his eyes meeting hers.

Lin Yanran slowly closed her dark eyes, tilting her face forward toward him.

Fang Ryuu leaned in as well, their lips meeting gently. He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her into a tender embrace as they shared a quiet, lingering kiss.

The sweet moment shared between two was going to be forever etched into their memories, as one regained what she had lost in the past and the other gained something he had longed for since his previous life on earth.

*rustle* rustle*

Fang Ryuu and Lin Yanran separated instantly, their expressions hardening as their spirit senses swept across the courtyard.

"Tsk. I wanted to watch the show for a bit longer." A man in white luxurious robes appeared openly within the courtyard, his smile not dipping with malice.

"Truly" another voice sneered from the shadows. "Who would have thought that the saintess of the seven virtues sect was such a lewd woman."

"We should have our fun with the saintess before we take our revenge."

"Hehe! Let's cut off this mortal's limbs first," one of them added cruelly "and make him watch as we have our pleasure."

""Hahaha!""

All fifteen of the trespassers bust into laughter.

Fang Ryuu's expression darkened by the second. 'bugs'

Their auras were solid and dense- solid pill realm, equivalent to golden core realm. 'Insignificant'

"They are the remnants of the Seven Evils Sect." Lin Yanran said coldly, irritation clear in her voice. "We need to kill them fast before more of these insects arrive."

Fang Ryuu didn't respond, instead he gave her a calm, reassuring smile.

Then he turned.

His gaze locked onto the cultivator who had dared to threaten to cripple him.

With a single thought, he willed his cultivation to move.

A sword of ethereal purple colour light condensed in his hand, its presence causing the air to tremble. The pressure of his nascent soul surged outward, heavy and oppressive.

He casually swung the blade through the air.

*Voom*

Invisible soul waves tore forward with each slash, screaming through the courtyard as they rushed towards the fifteen cultivators.

Their laugher died instantly.

"What-?"

"Defend!"

The cultivators reacted too late to Fang Ryuu's attacks and suffered a miserable fate- twelve of them were slain outright while the three who had dared to disrespect Lin Yanran and threaten to cripple him had their limbs severed.

His gaze turned cold, killing intent flooding the courtyard.

"Welcome to hell, you filthy sinners."

Fang Ryuu said as he unleashed the aura of his nascent soul cultivation onto the three of them, he knew that doing so would hasten the weakening of his cultivation, but it was worth it- for they had truly angered him.

What followed was utter hell for the three of them as Fang Ryuu subjected them to various inhumane torture methods he had seen during his previous life on earth.

Their screams echoed until even their voices failed them. Their deaths served as a grim warning- an example to all his enemies of the price for daring to target him or those close to him.

What Lin Yanran feared did not come to pass. From the remainder of the night till the sun rose, no enemy reinforcements arrived.
