Eve's POV
The celebration happened without her organizing it.
That was the thing about having people around you who understood what you needed, somewhere between the hearing chamber and Seraphine's territory, decisions had been made. Food appeared. Wine appeared. The formal sitting room that had functioned as a war room for six days was suddenly full of people who had been holding tension for a week and had collectively decided to put it down.
Katerina was there.
That surprised Eve more than anything else. The warrior had no obligation to be here....her endorsement was given, her faction's position stated, she could have left the Court the morning after the trial. But she was here, standing near the window with a glass of wine and the expression of someone who had decided this particular outcome was worth witnessing.
She caught Eve's eye across the room.
Raised her glass slightly.
Eve raised hers back.
