Around 12,000 years ago, on earth roamed various creatures, such as goblins, ghost, demons, dragons, humans, gods and etc. However they lived with chaos, constantly disagreeing with one another causing the world to collapse. One day, a god by the name of, Shen Wen Xing ( 神文幸 ) decided to put a stop with it. He called of the strongest of each creatures and decided to split them in worlds. He split them into 3 realms, You Ling Men (幽灵门 , The Ghost Gate — The Underworld), Fan Ren Shi Jie (凡人世界, The Mortal Realm — Middleworld ) and Tian Tang (天堂 , Heaven — The Overworld).
In You Ling Men, lived the fallen spirits of both humanoid and animals, such as ghouls, demons, ogres, goblins and ghost. At first, they've split each other with dividing with tall walls, not allowing them to interact with one another as the leaders of each spirit simply wanted to be known as the strongest. But around 7,000 years later, they had decided to break the walls down, allowing the people to interact with one another while still having their own district.
In Tian Tang, lived heavenly beings and heavenly animals such as deities, gods, dragons and the phoenix. Only such beings are allowed to ascend to heaven with a summoning paper and enough cultivation power, other creatures such as the fallen spirits and humans are only allowed to enter Tian Tang with the permission of the Heavenly Emperor, they can only ascend with the help of the heavenly creatures. Fallen spirits are only allowed to stay in Heaven for not more that 6 days, with a break of 2 weeks in between. Whereas humans in Tian Tang are allowed to stay for 2 weeks and a break of 5 days. Any creature that was caught ascending to Tian Tang illegally will be punished. If it was a fallen spirit, their powers would be removed away and they will be trapped in the mortal realm, to be cursed with being tortured and won't be able to die. If it were a mere mortal, same as the fallen spirits, they too will be cursed by being tortured, how ever they have a much shorter live span, therefore the next 100 generations of that person's family will also be struck with this wicked curse. (100 generations of human life (3,000 years is equivalent to the average life span of a fallen spirit, but every species have different lifespans, some shorter, some longer. The shortest one would be the goblins, which live up to 300 years. Whereas the longest one would be vampires, that could live up to 14,000 years)
However, inside Tian Tang there was lived a huge prison building, named Zi Jing Fan She (自镜反射, Self-reflection), any creature that was deemed has disobedient will have to spend their days according to the crimes they done inside Zi Jing Fan She. In each cell there is a huge mirror that captures every corner, within the imprisoned time given, the criminals will have to self reflect for what they've done, reports were given that those that suffered for more that 10 weeks in Zi Jing Fan She had gone insane and crazy. There was not escape as the huge mirror was unbreakable and all powers are suspended with a huge chain locked around all limbs and the neck. With an exception, the criminals with less heavier crimes are given the choice to be locked up or return to the mortal realm as a mortal to pay off their "debts" by doing good deeds. Not to forget, any heavenly disciples or officials that disobey any commandments will be stripped from all spiritual power and will return to the realm that they've cause trouble in, and will also be transformed into the same creatures that live there. Once done, they will ascend back to heaven and will be granted back their powers — for creatures and return to their original body. Tian Tang's Heavenly Emperor is chosen from Shen Wen Xing's bloodline in gratitude to his magnificent action of bringing peace among all living creatures.
While in Fan Ren Shi Jie, lived humans and normal animals such as horses and cows. A rule was given that the fallen spirit are only allowed to roam for 2 months and had to have a break of 3 months in between but was soon changed that they were allowed to roam for 3 months and a break worth of 2 months, as they deemed as it was unfair to them. The heavenly beings were allowed to roam on earth for 6 months with a break of 2 1/2 months in between.
In spite of that, there was another creature that was viewed as far too ferocious, they are known as blood sucking demons, vampires. They were avoided so much, they weren't even thought to be included in any of the worlds. Despite being despised by every other living creature, legend has it that vampires have one of the largest populations, as they are able to disguise themselves into other beings. After 3,000 years of hiding, You Ling Men leaders decided to be merciful on them after Tian Wei Lan ( 天蔚蓝 ) and his wife, Lü Ming Rong ( 律鳴荣 ) — both who were pure vampires, had advised You Ling Men's leaders with their intelligent thinking from being demolished from the Mayhem Era, this was when the leaders of the Underworld were fighting when they've accused one another of allowing their people to trespass into their district, that was when Tian Wei Lan gave the idea to bring down the walls of each nation, allowing them to roam across the border with freedom would be given a greater future while still having their own districts.
In return, the leaders of You Ling Men, gathered together for a meeting with the both of them, it ended with them allowing to live in another world, named The Blood City ( 血城 ) which was ruled by none other than Tian Wei Lan, there was a path connected to You Ling Men, as it was an unofficial realm. That path was named as The Red Path ( 红路径 ), red implying the blood that vampires thirst for...
Not only that, a promise was made upon the vampires and the other leaders of You Ling Men. Firstly, vampires were only allowed to roam out of The Blood City once they have had their meal, to avoid being caught. Secondly, vampires were only allowed to consume blood from filthy people, such a rapist, sexual fetischist, lechers and etc. Before consumption, it needed to be verified by the leader of The Blood City, which then was Tian Wei Lan. If caught without permission, they would be punished by being nailed and hanged upon the door of your house. No one is allowed to remove you till your time is payed off, for each innocent it's 3 days, if anyone attempts so, they too will be punished to be nailed and hang next to them. Shockingly, Tian Wei Lan, vowed that if him and his wife or any descendants from them onwards were to drink the bloods of innocents, they shall be punish by being hung up on the city's front gate.
Yet in the end, vampires were only allowed to roam in Fan Ren Shi Jie under the disguise of other fallen spirits, and were strictly forbidden to enter Tian Tang, as neither did the heaven officials or humans knew about this contract...
