Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 --The Battle of the Young People (I)

After briefly explaining the rules, Feng Xiaotian looked at his opponent. Meng Yiran nodded without hesitation, clearly agreeing.

The two stood roughly ten meters apart. Feng Xiaotian raised his hand slightly, signaling for her to take the initiative.

Meng Yiran did not waste the opportunity.

Spirit power surged beneath her feet as she stomped hard against the ground, borrowing the recoil to launch herself forward. In an instant, she closed the distance, her body leaning in as her fist shot out—a heavy opening punch that fully leveraged her forward momentum.

Feng Xiaotian chose not to dodge. He wanted to test her strength directly. Stepping forward himself, he met her with a charging punch of his own.

Bang!

Their fists collided head-on.

Feng Xiaotian slid back only half a step, his footing steady. Meng Yiran, however, was forced to retreat more than three full steps before regaining balance.

Seeing the difference in raw strength, Feng Xiaotian immediately pressed forward, launching another straight punch. This time, Meng Yiran no longer attempted a direct clash. She shifted sideways, narrowly evading the attack, while her right fist snapped toward Feng Xiaotian's elbow.

Feng Xiaotian raised his left arm to block and began retracting his right hand—but Meng Yiran's left fist followed instantly. A flurry of rapid punches burst forth, each strike crisp and precise, forcing Feng Xiaotian into continuous defense.

Seizing the initiative, Meng Yiran pushed aggressively. Her punching speed increased again, relentless and suffocating. Feng Xiaotian was forced to retreat step by step. At such close range, his arms could not fully extend, severely limiting his counterattacks. Relying on his sturdier physique, he endured several blows head-on, then abruptly swept his leg out, attempting to force her back.

Bang!

Feng Xiaotian's heart jolted.

His intention had been seen through.

Meng Yiran stomped down decisively, pinning his sweeping leg and breaking the technique mid-execution. In the same motion, her right fist shot upward and struck his neck. The impact sent his vision swimming, his senses momentarily blanking out.

Before he could recover, Meng Yiran followed up without mercy. Her foot lashed out, kicking Feng Xiaotian cleanly off his feet.

By the time he hit the ground, Meng Yiran was already there, her knee pressing firmly against the side of his head, pinning him in place.

"I lost," Feng Xiaotian said openly, without excuses. "Your punching speed is too fast, and your reactions are sharper than mine. I'm completely convinced."

"You're not bad either," Meng Yiran replied, exhaling slowly as she adjusted her breathing.

The battle ended.

Seeing Meng Yiran's victory, Duke Long and Serpent Granny were visibly delighted, repeatedly cupping their hands toward acquaintances nearby. The surrounding young cultivators erupted into discussion, voices filled with excitement and analysis.

After watching quietly, Yu Yuanzhen finally spoke.

"Do you know why Feng Xiaotian lost?"

"He focused too much on cultivating the Di Yuan Body Tempering Skill and neglected the Five Viscera Visualization Method," Jade Tianxin replied calmly. "His strength and physical defense were clearly superior, but his neural reaction speed and attack speed lagged behind. Once he was dragged into close-quarters combat, he lost his rhythm."

Yu Yuanzhen nodded.

"Tianxin, go. Show them the might of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan."

Jade Tianxin immediately stepped forward to issue a challenge. Meng Yiran did not refuse. After receiving brief treatment from a healing-system Spirit Douluo, she entered the arena once more.

This second battle unfolded very differently.

From the start, Meng Yiran was at a disadvantage. Jade Tianxin's spirit granted him a naturally superior physique, and unlike Feng Xiaotian, he had not relaxed his cultivation of the Five Viscera Visualization Method. His attack speed was only slightly slower than Meng Yiran's, while his strength was noticeably greater.

The two clashed at close range, trading punches and kicks in rapid succession. Each dodged, countered, and pressed forward, both attempting to compress the available space and restrict the other's movement.

Gradually, the fight became a delicate battle over positioning.

Jade Tianxin continuously advanced, trying to force Meng Yiran into a corner. Meng Yiran relied on agile footwork, slipping through narrow gaps and counterattacking whenever an opening appeared.

However, the prolonged close-quarters exchange took its toll.

Meng Yiran's physical disadvantage became increasingly evident. Small injuries accumulated, her movements slowed, and her once-overwhelming punching speed began to drop. Eventually, she could no longer keep up and was defeated.

After the match, Wind Fury glanced at Feng Xiaotian.

"Will you still neglect your Five Viscera Visualization Method in the future?"

Feng Xiaotian clenched his fists and nodded.

"It was my shortsightedness. I'll make up for it."

"Jade Tianxin has real skill," Fire Wushuang said, patting Feng Xiaotian's shoulder. "His Di Yuan Body Tempering Skill is only at minor accomplishment, but his Five Viscera Visualization Method has been there for a long time. He chose the opposite path from you."

"No," Feng Xiaotian shook his head bitterly. "He's simply stronger. I barely reached minor accomplishment in the body tempering skill, and my Five Viscera Visualization Method has only just entered the introductory stage. His cultivation speed is far ahead of mine."

He couldn't help but regret the time he had secretly spent developing his self-created Spirit Ability.

He had wanted to impress Huo Wu—but instead, he had embarrassed himself in front of her.

Huo Wu glanced at him once. Seeing that he had already reflected, she did not press further.

"Bing'er, can you win against him?"

"I can't," Shui Bing'er answered honestly. "Our secret technique progress is similar, but his physique gives him a clear advantage."

"Oh?" Fire Wushuang suddenly looked toward the stage. "Someone new is stepping up. Who is that?"

"I know him!" Shui Yue'er said quickly. "He's from the Star Luo Empire!"

On the stage, Dai Weisi and Jade Tianxin collided.

Both were attack-system Spirit Masters, naturally gifted with powerful physiques. Seeing that neither intended to evade, they chose a direct, head-on confrontation.

Jade Tianxin had the advantage in secret technique cultivation, while Dai Weisi had not even reached minor accomplishment in the Di Yuan Body Tempering Skill. Although Dai Weisi possessed stronger spirit power, this fight forbade Spirits, spirit rings, and Spirit Abilities.

After dozens of exchanged blows, Dai Weisi was defeated.

"Excellent!" Fire Wushuang clapped. "With strength like that, the cousin competing with him for the heir position won't be far behind. The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan truly produces geniuses."

Yu Heng could no longer sit still. He stepped forward voluntarily, replacing his cousin and issuing a new challenge.

Dai Tianfeng glanced briefly at his son but said nothing, his attention fixed on the stage.

Tang Xiao watched as Yu Heng won again. Three consecutive victories had already elevated the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's prestige, drawing a quiet sigh from him.

"If we'd known Spirit Hall only wanted Tang Hao," Tang Lie muttered irritably, "we should have brought our younger generation too. With auxiliary secret techniques, Tang Long and Tang Hu wouldn't lose to these dragon cubs."

"It's too late now," Tang Xiao replied helplessly. "We can only wait for the next opportunity."

"One step late makes all the difference," Tang Lie said bitterly. "Catching up will take time."

Tang Xiao fell silent.

Yu Heng's victory was swift. Seeing no one else step forward, he began selecting opponents himself, pointing directly at Fire Wushuang.

"Fire Wushuang," Yu Heng said coldly. "Do you dare accept?"

"Me?" Fire Wushuang laughed and stepped out. "You jumped out yourself—don't blame me if you lose."

Yu Heng frowned.

"Talk big only after you win."

Fire Wushuang grinned.

"I'm a fire-system Spirit Master. I've been imbued with the Flame Manipulation Skill."

Yu Heng stiffened. He had completely overlooked that fact.

Before he could suggest postponing the match, Fire Wushuang exploded forward, flames bursting beneath his feet. His punch came wrapped in fire, striking Yu Heng squarely before he could evade.

"You lost."

Gasps rippled through the crowd. No one expected Yu Heng to fall so quickly, nor did they anticipate the third-grade Flame Manipulation Skill to be so domineering.

Flames coiled naturally around Fire Wushuang's limbs. Fighting him bare-handed was nearly impossible.

Amid the heated discussion, another youth stepped forward.

"I am Liu Yanhu. Please enlighten me."

Fire Wushuang's expression sharpened instantly. A fire-system Spirit Master—and one bold enough to challenge him—almost certainly possessed the same skill.

Both men raised their stances, flames igniting around their fists.

They surged forward simultaneously, flame propulsion bursting beneath their feet. Rapid punches collided, sparks scattering as flames clashed violently.

The first exchange ended evenly. Both retreated a few steps, reassessing.

Liu Yanhu suddenly clasped his hands together, then pulled them apart. A ring of flames formed, quickly splitting into multiple clusters that shot forward in rapid succession.

Fire Wushuang punched frantically, dispersing them—then realized something was wrong.

The flame clusters were fast, but weak.

When his fist shattered one, it exploded outward, flames scattering and instantly obscuring his vision.

Too late.

Liu Yanhu burst through the flames and unleashed a close-range assault. Forced into retreat, Fire Wushuang blocked desperately until a punch landed squarely on his chest. Flames erupted, sending him crashing to the ground.

"Thank you for the guidance," Liu Yanhu said, cupping his hands.

Fire Wushuang could only accept defeat.

Returning to his group, he muttered, "I was careless."

"If you lost, you lost," Huo Wu said flatly. "Excuses are useless."

"Good sister," Fire Wushuang pleaded, "win it back for me."

Huo Wu stepped forward without hesitation.

"Huo Wu of Blazing Academy. Please enlighten me."

"Liu Yanhu of Star Luo. Please enlighten me."

The battle began anew.

Huo Wu's speed was on an entirely different level.

Using alternating flame propulsion from both feet, she accelerated mid-movement, catching Liu Yanhu completely off guard. Her knee strike smashed into him, knocking him backward.

Before he could stabilize, her high kick followed, flames sweeping toward his neck. He barely raised an arm to block and was forced off balance again.

Her flames erupted once more as she leapt into the air, delivering a devastating downward kick.

Liu Yanhu had no room to dodge.

He raised both arms, but the impact crushed him to his knees. His shoulder screamed in pain, his arm losing all strength.

Three moves.

In just three kicks, Huo Wu decisively ended the battle.
