Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Sneak Shot

'Overthinking it?'

'Fine, so maybe I was overthinking it. But this is my home now. What right does he have to be here? And how dare he say something so blunt to me?'

Mika Summers was absolutely furious. "Young Master Grayson, we're divorced now. Is it appropriate for you to be in my house like this?" 'He never once came over before the divorce, so what's the meaning of this now? Is he here to laugh at my misfortune? Or did he come just to mock me and make it clear he has absolutely no interest in me?'

"We're divorced, but don't forget the agreement you signed. For the next ten days, you are still the wife of me, Tristan Grayson."

'Wife?' That word sounded so laughable to Mika Summers.

'When had he ever treated her like a wife? Tristan Grayson really was here just to mock her and laugh at her expense.'

When she remained silent, Tristan Grayson rubbed the bridge of his nose, his face a mask of exhaustion and impatience. "I could never have any interest in a woman like you. I'll be gone by six tomorrow morning."

"—" Hearing Tristan Grayson's words, Mika Summers gritted her teeth, shot him a fierce glare, and stormed back into her bedroom.

'I'll endure it! It's only for ten days! Just ten short days!'

Back in her bedroom, Mika Summers lay in bed, unable to fall asleep.

The thought of Tristan Grayson being in the house, under the same roof, made it impossible for her to rest.

It wasn't until dawn was about to break that she finally drifted off.

As for when Tristan Grayson left, she had no idea.

She woke up a little after four in the afternoon. Hearing a commotion outside, she frowned, got out of bed, and pulled open the curtains to look.

"Quick! Get a shot, there really is a woman living there!" a man suddenly yelled, pointing right at her.

As soon as he shouted, she saw a large crowd of people aiming their cameras in her direction, shutters clicking away.

Startled, she quickly yanked the curtains shut and ducked down.

'What was going on? Why were so many people taking pictures of me?'

Suddenly, she thought of Tristan Grayson's visit the night before. She scrambled to her feet and rushed to the living room, but there was no sign of him.

She found her phone on the sofa and checked the latest headlines.

"A-List Superstar Tristan Grayson's New Romance Allegedly Exposed!"

Her face darkened the moment she saw the headline and the accompanying photo of Tristan Grayson leaving her house.

'So, that crowd taking pictures earlier... they were all reporters.'

She scrolled down to the latest breaking news. Just as she'd expected, the picture of her that had been snapped moments ago was already the top headline.

This article claimed that she and Tristan Grayson were already living together. It was accompanied by two photos: one of Tristan Grayson leaving her house, and the other of her at the window, pulling back the curtains to look out.

She felt like she was going to go crazy.

Just then, her phone rang.

It was Tristan Grayson.

She stared at the phone for a long moment before finally answering, "Hello…?"

"I really underestimated you. I never imagined you'd be capable of anything for money."

Hearing the words coming from the phone, her expression turned ugly. "What do you mean?"

"Name your price. How much do you want this time?"

Tristan Grayson's cold, mocking voice was like a knife stabbing at her heart. Her own voice trembled, but she forced a calm she didn't feel and asked again, "What do you mean?"

"'What do I mean?' Hah. You deliberately hired reporters to get those photos, didn't you? It was all for money, wasn't it? So name your price. Tell me how much you want. Whatever the amount, I, Tristan Grayson, can afford it."
