Laura Lowell came to the hospital early in the morning with Aiden Shaw. She had prepared two breakfasts—one for Julian Peyton, and one for Hannah Hale and Morgan Joyce.
As they stepped out of the elevator, a nurse called Aiden Shaw away, saying a patient from yesterday's surgery was showing signs of a post-operative infection.
Laura Lowell went to Julian Peyton's room first. The kid had just finished washing up and was coming out of the bathroom. Seeing Laura arrive, his whole demeanor brightened. "Hey, I saw some major drama in the middle of the night yesterday."
