Morgan Joyce sent the finished file to Mr. Lorell, closed his laptop, and looked up at the food on the table. "Did you make this breakfast, or did your Dr. Shaw?"
"I was going to make it for you all, but Aiden wanted me to sleep in. He got up bright and early this morning to make everything."
Hannah Hale came out of the bathroom and walked over, a faint dimple appearing in her cheek. "What delicious food did Dr. Shaw make?"
"Silkie chicken soup and soup dumplings, plus some tasty pickled vegetables. Come on, let's eat."
Laura Lowell helped Hannah Hale into a chair and ladled her a bowl of the chicken soup. "My wedding's next week. Do you think you'll be out of the hospital by then?"
"I'm your bridesmaid! Of course I'll be there. How could I miss such an important event? But I probably won't be able to wear the dress we picked out. The bruises on my back won't have faded by then, so I'll need something that isn't backless."
