"My back... my back hurts so much, too."
Laura Lowell lifted the back of Hannah Hale's shirt, revealing a series of shocking bruises, some laced with streaks of blood. They were clearly the marks of a beating.
"This damn Tiana Peyton."
A cold glint flashed through Laura Lowell's worried eyes. 'The Peytons can have it out for me, that's one thing. But now they won't even leave my friends alone.'
"Stay here, don't move. I'm going to get a doctor for you right now. The blood on your head has already dried. If we don't get it cleaned and bandaged, it'll get infected."
Laura Lowell helped Hannah Hale sit up on the hospital bed, watching as her friend's eyes started to well with tears.
"What are you so worked up about? This injury is nothing. You really don't have to worry. It's a minor concussion at worst. I'll be fine after a few days' rest."
"I know, don't try to comfort me... I'm going to get a doctor now."
Laura Lowell wiped a tear from the corner of her eye and left.
